We knew it would be good from its reviews on Booking.com but it exceeded our expectations for cleanliness & friendliness. Very relaxed check in , shown the room in advance as my wife is noise averse . We were on the road with a balcony but it was very quiet . Comfortable bed , customised linen , nice towels gleaming bathroom. Excellent breakfast place opposite, their lounge & cafeteria being closed due to Covid . Great value 10/10 Then I had a problem and it almost impossible to imagine a more amazing response from the lady who had checked us in and the owner who insisted on driving me to a health centre to add weight to my case . I can’t thank them enough.

Friendly staff, comfortable and clean rooms. Our room was quiet and spacious, with an impressive spa bath, though not everyone would be happy with the only partly obscure glass wall to one side, which was etched with bottles etc,! Not sure why previous reviews had criticised the breakfast. There was a wide selection of cold meats, local manchego cheese typical of Spanish breakfasts, but also including eggs, bacon, salmon. Bread, hot rolls, and a variety of yoghurt and fruit. Am impressive machine for pressing fresh orange juice, that you fed with oranges yourself! In the middle of Valdepeñas, and easy access to the local bars and restaurants in the nearby main square. The hotel”s secure garage parking (additional charge) was a bonus for us.

The hotel is staffed by very nice staff, who make sure that your stay is enjoyable. Facilities are commensurate with the standard, so they are what you are willing to pay. However the staff make all the difference and go out of their way to help. All in all a positive experience.

We wound up in Valdepeñas drunk and unable to drive home to Madrid. Weather freezing. Asked a local barman to recommend a hotel and ended up here. Lovely clean rooms, warm on arrival (which in the circumstances was awesome), comfortable bed, honesty bar in the summer, and fabulous owner who let us check out at 5pm for zero additional charge because he wasn't expecting anyone else. Great base to explore the wine producing area it sits at the centre of and very close to wonderful local restaurants. If you're doing Spanish wine country, stay here.

Half the staff were friendly whereas I did get irked by the one chap (Barman possibly?) who thought it was funny to gabble at speed in Spanish, I assume what he was saying was derogatory because the young girl staff were highly amused - and this encouraged him more. Not a great way to treat a customer and left a bad taste

Great place to go with a bunch of friends and have a great time. Good attitude from the hosts, very friendly and eager to please. The only “but” was the breakfast that has some room for improvement. Other from that, tv, wifi, ac, many ammenities at a very reasonable fare.

The big wooden door opened with a creak, and inside, sitting behind the hotel desk, almost in the dark, was the nicest desk clerk. What a delightful place! Part of the delight was the unique aspects of the hotel. It's like spending the night at the museum - because it is part that. From what I was able to learn - I think - is that the owner was a collector of art and of historical artifacts. Consequently, the place is sprinkled heavily with statues and paintings, both inside and out. The other is that it's a nice hotel in its own right. Our room was a little small, but clean and comfortable. The inn's location also is just a 10 minute walk from el centro where there was a hive of activity. The staff is TOP notch. We woke up a little late, but the proprietor fixed us breakfast and made us feel at home. Valdepenas is fun little Spanish town, and I would go back for another taste for sure - and spend another night at the museum!
