If you're off to Ulverston, you'll find plenty to explore in its labyrinth of cobbled streets. Hunt through the comedy memorabilia at the Laurel and Hardy museum, marvel at the glorious views across Morecambe Bay or picnic on the sand dunes at the Sandscale Haws National Nature Reserve. And after a long day exploring lovely Cumbria, return for a delicious dinner in our in-house Thyme restaurant and then relax in your comfy, kingsize Hypnos bed.
Stayed in three different premier inns in the last few weeks this being the last one. Got there a bit so went in to ask if any chance we could get in.I under stand how busy you might be but a bit of politeness and professionalism do not go a miss. The other premier inns managed it. I was met by a girl sat there as i walked in to be bluntly told-check in is 3pm. She didn't even ask anyone if our room was clean or ready! Anyways we came and wish we didn't cos it was total rubbish

The Bay Horse is a 17th century coaching inn situated on the shores of The Levens Estuary. For nearly 30 years Robert Lyons former chef at Miller Howe Hotel during John Toveys reign, Lesley Wheeler and their team have been welcoming guests to their modest, inn which delivers first class hospitality. Whether you are just in need of a simple snack, a generous Aberdeen Angus Steak, fresh fish or something vegetarian we aim to offer you the best, served by friendly staff who go out of their way to please. Sit by a log fire in winter or enjoy the view from the Conservatory Restaurant or picnic benches across the way. A wide range of spirits, cask beers and wines are available. Dogs are welcome too and there are many walks to be had right on the doorstep, up the Ulverston Canal, along the shoreline or the start of the Cumbrian Way. The cycling is excellent too and we can provide a safe place to park your bike while staying with us. All in all, a place for everyone to enjoy!
Stayed for one night before we headed off up the Cumbria Trail. Warm welcome. Nice room. Great food (evening meal and breakfast). Very friendly service. If every stop over on our route is as good as this then we shall be extremely happy. Thank you for having us, and thank you for sorting out a taxi to the start point. Would certainly recommend.

Four of us went here and had a really good, reasonably priced meal. Starters of black pudding (for 1) reliably informed it was very tasty and goats cheese (1 also) also excellent then main course 3 x sausage and mash and 1x steak and ale pie. All very happy with our choices, pie definitely homemade with excellent pastry and substantial filling. 3xsticky toffee pudding which again I’m informed was excellent. Pleasant atmosphere and good service. Highly recommend. For four with 2 starters, 4 mains, 3 puddings and wine and couple of pints total came to £112 which I think is reasonable.

A lively Venue based in the heart of Ulverston Town Centre. Music and DJ's every weekend until late Excellent food and a large selection of drinks including real ale from our own brewery
Suppose to be a delux room. Still trying to find the delux basic metal bed mattress we’re you can feel all the springs stayed here twice before and must say this as been the worst experience. The sink was dirty so was the shower curtain with grime.

We stayed here for 3 nights over the Easter weekend. Checked in at 4pm and shown to our room the 'Cottage Room', absolutely beautiful, quaint room with 2 single beds, wardrobe and chest of drawers plus tea & coffee facilities. Bathroom was modern but with an old fashioned twist and in keeping with the room/house. Loved how the owners are reducing plastic waste and giving you the option to reuse your towels this saving on washing/energy. Delicious cooked breakfast (pre-order the day before) with plenty of coffee, toast and juice. Close to Conniston. Couple of pubs within walking distance. Really enjoyed our stay.
