Located in the northern part of the country, high above sea level, Ulan Bator is the coldest capital city in the world. The cultural and business center of Mongolia, and a hub connecting the Trans-Siberian Railway with the Chinese rail system, Ulan Bator has become a thriving urban center in one of the most remote locations in the world. Visit the Tibetan-style Gandan Monastery, one of the few buildings in Ulan Bator to predate WWII and one of the few monasteries to survive the Soviet purge.

Everything at this hotel is excellent, but the staff are the best of any hotel I have ever stayed in. I travel to UB about 4 times a year and this is the only hotel I stay in. It feels like a second home for me. I have stayed in many great hotels all over the world. This one is the best!!

Shangri-La Ulaanbaatar, is located right in the heart of the city centre - making it an ideal base for both business and leisure travellers. Shangri-La Ulaanbaatar is integrated part of the Shangri-La Centre which includes Sports Club with latest equipments, the largest swimming pool and Adventure Zone, Shopping mall, IMAX Cinema, luxury residents and office building.
I spent a night here making a booking through AMEX FHR program. It is twice as expensive as other top hotels in UB. The lobby area is spectacular, and rooms are nice. Knowing that they are at less than 40% occupancy they could have offered a more substantial upgrade. Additionally the hotel doesn't really have it's own spa and rather uses the spa next door in the mall which is somewhat inconvenient.

Whether you are traveling for business or pleasure, make Ramada Ulaanbaatar city center hotel your home base in Mongolia. Located in the heart of the city, this upscale 4 star international hotel with 124 spacious and exquisitely designed guestrooms is only steps from anywhere you desire.
I stayed in this hotel for 2 nights, checking in late on the first night and leaving very early in the morning off the second night. The room was very clean, spacious and comfortable with decent wifi. The staff were excellent - helpful and thoughtful. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel. If i am lucky enough to get back to Ulaanbaatar I will stay there again. There was one person in particular - the lady that worked the front desk on the night of Mar 7th into early morning Mar 8th (I didn't get her name unfortunately) - that stood out. She was an outstanding member of your staff and a wonderful ambassador for Ramada Hotels. Keep up the great work!

spent a night in this hotel. the room was nice and i had paid extra for a corner one with a good view which it did have. other than that the lobby area wasn't that nice, it is more like a sopping plaza or office building lobby than a luxury hotel. the room was dark and breakfast was not that great

It offers something for everyone. Providing all comforts and modern conveniences world travelers have come to expect in premier hotels worldwide along with authentic taste and feel of Mongolia's rich history and culture.
I was there recently on business trip. Geberally had pleasant stay there in mid of winter in UB. Hotel location next to emart and some restaurant around the area. In general, hotel and the room itself a bit outdated. Wifi connection fast. Staff are friendly and helpful, speak a good english, korean and i assume russian as well. They really helpful for taxi arrangement and making restaurant reservation. Hotel room was, a bit outdated, but cozy, warm enough, as outside temp was -28, the only downside is that hot water was not working one time.. ? Breakfast.... is a big disappointment, firstly, room is changing during my stay and both were considerably small, not so many options and NO STAFF around that time, while there was one egg station.

great place to rest after a long trip from Bangkok Thailand. I had a long plane ride almost 10 hours with jet lag… but with nice and warm room and a warm bath. it felt so great and refreshing. with the weather here being so different from Thailand, it’s so important to have a good rest. so Thank you so much and now I am ready to go on a horse riding adventure.

I stayed 2 weeks and found it to be a great hotel. 5-7 minute walk to sukhabaatar square, plenty of restaurants (namaste: indian, Spanish, korean. Mongolian and KFC, Pizzahut, et,.) all within 5-7 minute walk. Several museum are close by. Also daily use stores very close by. Hotel room size is good and staffs are super cooperative. Overall a great place to stay.

This hotel is great value. Although the building has seen better days (it's a bit rough on the eyes and the decor is a little dated), it was comfortable and clean. The staff are very nice and extremely hospitable. The wifi was great and accessible throughout the hotel. My only gripe was the hot water in the shower, or lack of. Apparently there was some sort of issue with the heating system during our stay and we had to put up with cold showers for our three day stay. For the price and the hotel's proximity to the train station, I would definitely stay again.
