Made up of St. Croix, St. John and St. Thomas, the laidback USVI offer sophisticated dining, turquoise waters and quaint towns. On St. Croix, Christiansted's colorful Danish Colonial buildings provide a lovely backdrop for dining or sailing. Underwater coral gardens are heaven for divers. On St. Thomas, shopping mecca Charlotte Amalie has hopping nightlife. Tranquil St. John offers quiet trails, secluded coves and lively Cruz Bay's shops and bars. Ferries and local air services link the islands.

"The Fred", is a historic 22 room, eco-friendly, beachfront, boutique resort, spa, restaurant, bar & gift shop named after King Frederik V of Denmark who is also the namesake for our town of Frederiksted on the US Virgin island of St. Croix. The Fred is the only beachfront hotel that is also located in town on the island and it’s the first new hotel to open on St. Croix since 1986.
My fiancée and I stayed at The Fred for a long weekend over Memorial Day and loved our time there! The Fred is a beautiful beachfront property with a sizable pool, hot tub, and bar. The property is kept very clean and employees are constantly maintaining the plants, pool area, chairs, and beachfront. The hotel is also gated and has security, which is comforting as the area around the hotel is not very populated at night. The hotel staff is attentive, accommodating, and friendly and routinely checked in with us throughout our stay. Our room was large, clean, and very comfortable with AC - we also enjoyed sitting on the balcony overlooking the ocean right outside our door. The Fred is great if you are looking to spend your day relaxing while looking at the beautiful scenery and there are a few bars and restaurants within walking distance as well - we enjoyed walking to Beach Side Cafe, 69 and Polly's for breakfast. The hotel is also a short walk to a well-maintained beachfront path and huge pier which is really nice as there is not much room to walk along the beach in front of the hotel as it's very rocky. Although Frederiksted is technically a "town," it is a very quiet part of the island though there are a few restaurants and bars within walking distance but it is very quiet at night and does not have nearly as much nightlife or shops that are found in Christiansted. If you're primarily looking for a relaxing vacation, lounging by the pool or beach, you will love The Fred. If you are looking to explore a bit more, I definitely recommend renting a car (we did) as taxis are not readily available - The Fred also has free parking for hotel guests right outside the hotel! Overall we loved our time at The Fred and would absolutely stay again!

Leisure rates include breakfast each morning, welcome rum or fruit punch, wifi, fitness center access, self parking, snorkel gear, kayaks and daily guest activities.
We traveled here for our honeymoon which ended up being a perfect spot to relax. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and clean - we loved the view from our patio overlooking the tidepools. We spent time at the two beaches with amenities (loved the delivery service at the beach/pool) which were both quiet and relaxing. We golfed a round one day and the golf pro, Kenny, was helpful and encouraging. The daily breakfast buffet was incredibly comfortable and offered a variety of choices each day. The front desk helped us with taxis to Christiansted when we did go into town for dinners. We would definitely think about going back to the Buccaneer!

Bluebeards is located on a secluded hillside in the heart of this tropical paradise and is the ideal U.S. Virgin Islands vacation destination. Overlooking Charlotte Amalie and the harbor where cruise ships dock, the resort offers newly renovated Studios, 1 Bedroom Suites, and a select number of 2 Bedroom Suites- most with balconies overlooking breathtaking island landscapes! On-site dining options include coffee, tea, and pastries from The Castle Coffee and Deli or our causal dining options at Sunnyside Café and Pool Bar. Enjoy the warm breezes lounging by the outdoor pool or relaxing on your private balcony.
My husband, adult daughter and I traveled to St. Thomas and stayed at this resort for 6 days (one day at Marriott mid week). Upon arrival we checked in with a rude lady that couldn’t bother to make eye contact. I did go back to check in to ask a question and the young lady was very nice and friendly. I believe her name was Jade. We were excited to be there and that emotion was sucked right out of us at Check in. Ok that’s fine who knows what the reason was. No elevator and when we asked if someone could take the two larger bags to our room (we would pay them, I didn’t expect them to do it for free) 3 guys looked at one another like I’m not doing it. After the uncomfortableness of that situation, one of them reluctantly brought 2 bags and we carried the rest. ( mind you it was just 2 women - my husband came a day later) The pool is too shallow. The view is nice. The security guard, Jamie was very friendly and seeing him gave us boost of happiness. One man at the pool bar was friendly and the others acted bothered. Justin was also helpful and we even mentioned that he was the helpful one and the others were just rude. 3 people (in our group) all came to their own conclusion that we have no desire to ever return to a place where we are made to feel like we are bothering folks.

Boutique hotel offering simple but tasteful accommodations. Salt water pool, views of both the bustling harbor and south to water island and beyond.. All rooms equipped with A/C, cable TV, and Wi-Fi. Fridge and safe. Morning coffee provided.
We had an overnight on St Thomas, prior to catching a sail charter to BVI. We didn't want to spend a fortune, so the major chains got knocked out. Olga's came up on Tripadvisor, so we checked it out. Glad we did! The place is small, but the rooms are spacious, and exceptionally clean. We had a room overlooking the pool area. The pool was a great hangout place with our friends. There were several restaurants within walking distance, both tacos and more formal. Try the deli for breakfast. This place is only a five minute taxi from the sea plane, or the ferries. Great location. Wish we could have stayed longer.

One of the best resorts on the still struggling island of St. Croix (post-COVID, and Hurricanes Irma & Maria). Nice westerly facing beach and very quiet. It does require a bit of a drive to get here. Good bar, ok restaurant, polite staff. A/C in rooms is great. Layout is multiple bungalow type buildings. Remember everything here is “island time”. Plan for long waits for meals, etc.

This hotel needs a redo. Seems run down. Bedroom had cracked mirrors and seemed unclean and rundown. Lobby bathroom was dirty. No pool towels. Great food at restaurant but terrible service. Beautiful views and convenient to airport.

Lovely view, small boutique hotel felt comfortable and friendly. Restaurant and bar were great. Room could have used some updating but still comfortable and clean. Water went out twice during our one night stay but was resolved quickly each time. This is a historic hotel and if you can appreciate it for that would recommend.
