With return coach transport form your local pick up point, and with its stunning setting in the village of Tyndrum, the Ben Doran is a great place to stay. Purpose built for Highland Heritage group by Ian Cleaver, MD, this beautifully kept hotel has a sparkling glazed entrance filled with flowers and plants providing year round colour. Uniquely, the dining room and the lounges can be found on the top floor making the most of the location's spectacular views. Here you can admire the panoramic outlook across the glens and mountains. Free WIFI in Quiet Room.
Good points….location, room clean and the bar man with the pony tail very pleasant and helpful. Bad points…. The bar had no Lager and no Diet Coke. Very expensive considering poor quality and selection available. Room 56 has no lock on the toilet door nor did it shut properly, breakfast food decent enough but no cups available. Asked 4 separate members of staff for a cup All saying they’d get one and no one did, instead they disappeared back into the kitchen. Then could not find a table to sit at as coach parties had just departed so tables littered with plates etc and everyone saying the same. So everyone has their food but nowhere to sit despite empty seats as covered. Need more staff and supplies

Tyndrum Cottage is a B&B situated about half way on the West Highland Way and open all year round. We welcome walkers, cyclists or anglers Bed and breakfast rates include a continental style breakfast also offering scrambled egg on toast and beans if a hot breakfast is required.
The hosts were extremely friendly and welcoming and went out of their way to ensure that guests were comfortable in all respects, for example providing plenty of complimentary ‘goodies’. The room was very comfortable. There was a good choice of breakfast …… including the largest portions of Scottish porridge I have ever seen! The accommodation is ideal for those walking the West Highland Way as it is actually on the route.

As a lodge facility I was very impressed how clean tidy and welcoming this place was. A perfect stop for anyone trekking around Scotland. Like the village this place is small but perfectly formed! Within short walking distance of local places to eat and drink.
