Reviewed By TwoDrifters2021We had booked in advance for a quiet room on a top floor and not near the elevator, ice machine, etc. and that is exactly what we received. The room faced the rear of the building, overlooking the pool (not in service, as expected) so it checked all the boxes. However, there was a wedding going on at the hotel's facility and the people across the hall from us had a drunken argument with others in the hall after two a.m. The hotel manager responded quickly and it stopped but by then we were wired and wide awake. I suggest you check to see that weddings are booked when you plan to stay. Apparently unruly guests are not uncommon. The hotel itself is nice. and the room was comfortable. We did not partake of any meals there. The manager discounted our room as compensation for the disturbance.

Formerly the Quality Inn Toms River, we have been upgraded to become the Clarion Hotel & Conference Center. We have replaced our guest room furniture & bedding in every room including beds, bed covering, linens, pillows, blankets, etc. We have flat screen televisions in all guest rooms and recently added 14 new HD TV channels to the programming. All of our guest rooms include a refrigerator, microwave, and a coffee maker. We recently added a new exercise room, and expanded our business center. We feature meeting rooms and two ballrooms for all of your banquet needs. Come and enjoy casual dining in our onsite Ike's Pub & Grill, with 50" HD Plasmas in the bar, and an upgraded sports package with NFL Sunday Ticket. We feature an outdoor pool & sundeck, and offer free wireless internet access throughout the entire hotel. Onsite parking is free.

Reviewed By susancaePictures look nice but looks are definitely deceiving. The bathroom door was broken and I couldn’t close it without lifting and there was cobwebs in the corners of the ceiling. The sheets smelled like urine as well.

Reviewed By RICART75If one enjoys the Victorian aesthetic, as we do; a high tea in a Victorian B&B is usually quite a pleasant experience. The full tea here was no exception. We began by exploring the building itself. From the attic Xmas shop, to the guest rooms (available for inspection, if unoccupied), to the main floor serving rooms; there was a wealth of architectural detail and accompanying decor to view and enjoy (e.g. the parasols hanging from the ceiling in one of the tea rooms). The staff were welcoming, friendly, and accommodating. The tea service was quite nicely done. The selection of teas from which to choose was fairly extensive; as was the variety of food provided during the course of the service. We were somewhat surprised (pleasantly) that soup and salad preceeded the sweets and savories traditionally served. The finger sandwiches were excellent, and the desserts were truly indulgent (especially the scones and clotted cream). This may have been the first time we ended a high tea with some items to take-out for later partaking. All and all, this was a wonderful step-back in time; by means of a very satisfying present day experience.

The ac in my room was falling apart but at least it work so we slept comfortably. My parents room smelled like cigarettes even though it was a non smoking room. But unfortunately that is the guest fault for not respecting the rules.

Worst ever ever ever!
Reviewed By jschreck14757/22/2021 Booking.com and Motel 6 2015 Rt 37 E Toms River NJ I booked Motel 6 via Booking.com for a visit on July 8, 2021. Pics looked good, location great and low price. I get to the motel and upon entry I see some sketchy activity in the lot and long term renters milling about. It had a seedy look and that was a first red flag. I proceed to the office where the owners wife tells me to go see the room first as her husband was up there cleaning. OK. I do that. The rooms, and I say plural because I saw multiple had a very strong smoking smell. I asked as I needed a non smoking room for health reasons. He said all the rooms were smoking. I said I reserved a non smoking. He said sorry but it was ok to cancel. So I did. He and his wife both said Ok to cancel. I then went to my car and emailed booking.com and relayed this info. The issue has been going back and forth since July 8 with no resolution. The motel, on top of having no non smoking rooms, were dirty, and there was drug activity happening on the lower level. It was a bad environment overall. I am not getting the run around from both the motel owner and Booking.com to get a refund. Even though I past this info along on July 8, they charged me for the full price on July 9. Do not use Booking.com. They have horrible policies and do not cooperate in the processing of issues. They steal your money and then act like it is all your fault. I have the email chain to prove it. The motel itself is horrible. DO NOT STAY THERE. Dirty, seedy, drug infested and run down. They also steal money and charge for non service. I have been so frustrated that I have contacted my lawyer. At this point is goes beyond the 100.00 but rather is principle now. I will spend 1,000.00 to bring these issues to light. Do no use Booking.com

Reviewed By karonb116Do not ever go there. The room was dirty...I complained after I got home and the manager told me I should have complained while I was there. Busy doing an event and did not have time...She hung up on me....Reservations were messed up...On my credit card I got 4 different charges for 4 different amounts with only staying at the hotel for 2 nights. I called the manager and she hung up on me...The others that stayed at the hotel all had the same issues...I repeat..DO NOT STAY THERE!!!!

The WORST

The bed had stained sheets and bed spread, dirt, grit or sand in the bed, and also covered and taped up in plastic., My fear “BED BUGS” was very dirty. Talked to the manager he said “He cleans those room himself and everyone has a different opinions on what clean is”. When we asked about being moved to different room or a refund. The manager was absolutely unprofessional, he said, “didn’t care if we stayed or left, it was going to be a $50 upgrade fee” The positives, the room had a fridge and microwave. If you did use the microwave there is nowhere to eat or drink apart from sat on the bed. NO table or desk and chairs, the dresser had the top drawer screwed shut, no bedside lamps nor tables. We plugged our cell phones in for the night they were died the next morning. The manager said “yes, he know the outlets in that room doesn’t work”, no vanity or shelf in the bathroom, so toothbrushes, shaver etc. goes on the bathroom floor. No outlets in the bath room also you can’t fix your hair. We had no washcloths, the towels was so thin you couldn’t get dried off. The owner’s response is 'it's a mote I've been here for 7yrsl! We will never book them again
