TajVilla Resort has, in a short time-span, become one of the most popular hotels in the area. It’s the natural beauty, dazzling colours and of course fantastic hospitality that brings people back to Tajpur sea beach year after year. Tajpur beach resort – TajVilla welcomes you for a comfortable and memorable experience at Tajpur, West Bengal. Standing proudly in a prime location at the heart of Bay
It was a fantastic experience at Tajpur. It is located only at a distance of 8 minutes from the sea. The rooms were good. The behaviour of the staff was warm and friendly. The food was also good. Indoor games are available. We played badminton in the evening. The biggest attraction is the availability of 4 swings. Kids as well as adults will enjoy.

We checked into this resort on 17.09.21 and staying there for two nights, checked out on 19.09.21. The resort is 4 km from Balisai Tajpur more at Nandakumar-Digha Road (NH-116B) and this entire stretch is in unmotorable conditions. There are large craters and as the road is on a higher level than the surrounding land that is largely swampy in the rains or lined with the bheries, it's a bit scary, as oncoming vehicles from the opposite side cross each other. The resort is beautiful well maintained. The crockery and linen were spotless white. The staffs are courteous and smiling. Though the stairs were not steep, it would have been better if there was a lift, especially for the aged people staying at the 2nd floor. Food was well cooked and tasty. The tandoor was not available on day one of our stay and on day 2 it was available. The naan / tandoori roti were fine but kebabs were far from even an average quality. The reshmi and tikka kebabs were dry and hard to cut. No desert was available except for rasogolla and 2in1 icecream. Tajpur has a sweet shop ‘Gouri Sweets’ for those with a sweet tooth, and they have an array of sweets from Kacha-golla to Pantua which are fresh and good for the pocket too. The breakfast spread was reasonably good and had lots of choices, starting from chaach , cut fresh fruits, bolied veggies / roasted tomato, milk- cornflakes, toast , puri sabjee, poha / idli with chutney - sambar + eggs to order. Tea-coffee available in paper cups but they happily served us freshly made tea & coffee in cups per our request. The one point we would like to highlight is that, during our first night’s stay (17.09.21), the power of our room had tripped at 6:00 am and after trying to call the reception, housekeeping and the restaurant no one picked it up. That is when we discovered that there were no staff in the resort throughout the night. They had left us alone and gone away. We were lucky that no untoward incident happened, but if there would have been a medical emergency at night, things could have been fatal.

My husband was attacked and mauled by 6 drunk guests at the hotel within just a few hours of arrival there. The hotel authorities did not provide an explanation as to what was the reason for the brawl and only went to the rescue when my husband started bleeding through his nose! I was in my room when the incident happened and was called to the scene when matters were already out of control. I saw my husband was beaten black and blue with blood dripping down his nose and a neck mauled by animal-like behaviour! My husband was also robbed of his smartwatch during the brawl and we never got an explanation or compensation for that. I was not guided properly by the hotel about what needs to be done next. We were just asked to stay in our rooms with no first aid and no support. In the light of such a horrific experience, we chose to leave the property right away without further delay and returned to our home time for further legal actions against the hotel and the guests who caused us unparalleled pain. Aside the crime that happened with my husband, there were two other brawls that day at the resort, which required police intervention. You can well imagine what kind of a place this is! Aside the horror that we had to face, the swimming pool is the dirtiest I've ever seen. They don't filter regularly citing that there are too many guests! Service provision is awful and the hotel manager's only excuse is that there's a dearth of staff. With the best interests at heart, I would strongly recommend against this property, unless one wants a stay of endless horror and harassment.

We (a group of 7, ranging from a toddler to senior citizens) went over for a family trip over to Tajpur by car for a short trip on 18th February to 20th February,2021 and stayed over at Swastik resort,Balisai. Here are few points to ponder for the ones bitten by travel bug. It takes around 4-4.5 hours to reach the resort from Kolkata with a 30 minute break at Kolaghat. It is better to go on weekdays than weekends as occupancy is more and almost all places hike up the room rent and do not provide any discount. Also, in weekdays it is advisable not to pre-book the rooms if possible and rent it after reaching the spot. Regarding Swastik resort : 1. Location - Accessible by car via paved road ( not marked in google earth though). 2. Sea beach - 5 minute walk distance at a leisurely pace (not quite far but property also does not open directly into the beach). 3. Property - Newly constructed, decently maintained with a play area for kids (slides, seesaw etc.) 4. Rooms - Mainly double bed ones, also has two rooms with a connecting facility for a moderately large group. The rooms have a flat screen TV, geyser but no water heater though warm water can be delivered to rooms if asked for. (All are equipped with AC, room price depends upon whether ones opts for it). All rooms have more than one charging points. 5. Generator - facility exists and it was nice to find out that it was promptly put in use in case of power cuts (we didn't have to ask anybody or the staff's were not reluctantly using it). 6. Food - No meal system. Homely cooked and few items are delicious not overladen with salt, also to our specifications if one mentions them. Prices are average. 7. Staffs - This is the wonderful part of the stay. The regular staffs are non- intrusive, simple but courteous. Mention must be made about Mr. Sujoy Pradhan who made an extraordinary impression. He regularly checked on us about any requirement, about any need that our toddler might have (from fries to milk). He reassured time and again that he was always available if the need arose around the clock. 8. Room rent - at par with other similar ones and may even be considerate. Overall, it is a must try for stay (comparing the location, price among other similar hotels/resorts and service).
