Reviewed By solotravellerCanadaThis 100+ year old building used to be a spa. It is now a small hotel - about 30 rooms - with a SUPERB restaurant. All rooms are unique, and there is a wide range to choose from, all the way from quite luxurious suites to cute little garrets on the top floor. So be sure to tell the reception staff exactly what you would like, and they will look after you. The hotel has a first-class restaurant, with excellent food and very professional service.

Cozy newly renovated 16 room hotel with restaurant, TV bar, conference room garden and sauna in spring water village Szczawno-Zdroj in the heart of wonderful Dolny Slask. Rooms range from 2 beds to 4 beds suites with possibility to extend to 6 beds. Tourists attractions nearby. Large free parking in front. Location near two parks at the end of main walking avenue of Szczawno.

Terrible is the staff
Reviewed By ks121277I chose the place from lots of others offered in Szczawno. It seemed modern and comfortable with good rating. Unfortunately the fact was different. The reception was on the top floor! And although it was around 3pm it was locked. I called the number given on the door and there was a lady who first seemed idignant hearing I'm with a dog and offered me an apartment as the only available room at that moment. When I told herI wa sinterested ina small room offered at booking.com she said I had to wait an hour or so because the receptionist when out to walk his dog and didn't leave a key. Then she called me back and said there was a small room with a double bad - ok for 130 zł + 10 zł additional for my dog. So I was almost moving there when she told me to change the room and this time I got the room from the booking.com offert but it was full of cigarette smoke which she commented that there was a group pf peple smoking but they couldn't do anything about it. Then I told her I was going to book the room by booking.com but she said she didn't want me to give bad review on the room and finally deleted the room from the booking.com! What insolence! The lady asked me to close the entrance room after leaving.I immediately changed the place for a cheaper and much more pleasant, and closer to the downtown. AVOID!

Sam pokoj klimatyczny, czysty, łózka wygodne, , TV coś nie chodził poprawnie, ale pewnie trzeba było isć na recepcje i by ustawili, (nam sie nie chciało), Bardzo blisko deptak, i do centrum. Lovely hotel with old-world charm.
Reviewed By KimM750I stayed here for 8 nights and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Not all the staff speak English, and my Polish consists of about three words, but you get by and it makes the whole trip more interesting! The food was good - I had breakfast included in my room price (some fresh fruit would have been nice), and also ate in the restaurant on three nights. There is a good selection of evening meal food choices from starters and snacks to full dinner options, all at silly, very low (compared to British) prices. The staff were friendly and helpful. As with some European hotels, you should take your own shower gel, but there is a bottle of hand wash if you forget (or Lidl and Tesco are nearby too!). If you intend to do any hand-washing, take a universal plug with you, or ask as I did, for a bowl. Locally there is a quaint Polish shop that sells everything - from fruit and veg, to meat, bread, cheeses and wine! A visit there is an experience in itself and recommended. My room (102) overlooked the front of the building into the garden and leaf-lined, quiet road and had a nice balcony to enjoy the quiet evenings with a cold drink on. There was a wooded area nearby that I would have liked to have visited, but did not have time, alas. Similarly the town looked to have interesting buildings but time did not allow me to explore them. I was very happy staying at Hotel Joanna and would recommend it to others.
