Le Salvagny is in a fantastic location at the foot of a range of different walks. The food is excellent; the staff are brilliant. It is extremely good value for money. Our room was basic, but clean and comfortable. The kids' clubs are fantastic and offer a range of activities for the children to do.

Whether you’re staying for a night, a week, or a longer break, you’ll find a warm welcome at the Auberge de Salvagny. Located in the village of Sixt Fer à Cheval, on the doorstep of the Sixt Nature Reserve and close to Samoëns, our gîte is a stone's throw away from downhill and cross-country ski runs in the winter, and is on the GR5 walking trail across the Alps in summer. We have 15 bedrooms.
I stayed here during a hiking trip in the Alps. It's right off the GR5 long distance trail. Just be clear about what it is. It's a gite, not a hotel. The rooms are ultra simple - just a bed and some shelves. The toilets and showers are shared in the hallway. If you don't have a sleeping bag or sheet sac, you have to rent linens for a few euros. Dinner and breakfast are at precise times. It's clean, the people who run it are friendly, It was perfect for my needs, but just be clear about what sort of place this is - a sort of youth hostel for adults. It's in a beautiful valley, with great hiking. Dinner was good, my main complaint would be that breakfast was a bit skimpy.

In the summer located at the start hiking mountains, near many activities: mountain biking, rafting, rock climbing, horseback This hotel in the nature reserve Sixt Fer a Cheval suitable for family holidays calm and relaxing For relaxation, summer heated pool, sauna and jacuzzi summer and winter. Rooms from 2 to 5 people
We spent 1 night there during our GR5 trek, because the Gite-Auberge de Salvagny was fully booked. We were offered a simple, 4-bed family room with mini-kitchenette and bathroom. Clean and comfortable enough, but a bit outdated. They cold not offer us dinner or breakfast, which we had in the Gite-Auberge. On the plus side, the hotel offers a very pleasant swimming pool with beautiful views!
