Truly magical hotel
Reviewed By TettersYorkshireMy wife and I stayed last week from Monday till Friday, all we can say is wow!....what a wonderful joyous German experience, sat up in Wiechs overlooking Schopfheim this hotel is an absolute total 1st class experience. Still a family owned hotel who invite and invite you into their family, the restaurant is as good as any top class restaurant, with excellent service and attention to detail. Needless to say the food was exquisite, our room with balcony overlooking Schopfheim was delightful with views that were simply stunning. If you want to stay in thee absolute best hotel in Schopfheim then there is no finer hotel. Thank you Krone, we will be back in 2019....oh and congratulations on a wonderful hotel. Lovely stopover in black Forest
Reviewed By Marco CA little gem of a hotel and restaurant in the Black Forest. Run by a friendly family. Simple but complete breakfast, eggs to order and cold buffet. Restaurant offers great value. We took the "fish surprise" and it was tasty perch and salmon with rice and veggies, excellent for 18 euros. Very quiet location, excellent sleep! They have a sauna as well but we were too busy exploring around lovely Gersbach and did not use it. Rooms are simple but very pleasant if you forgive the the typical German (and Swiss) habit of making a "double bed" with two completely separate beds, mattresses and duvets put next to each other. So couples are kept rigorously apart... mmmhhhh...

Quiet comfortable stay
Reviewed By Hutt0nThis is the 3rd time I have stayed here on a business trip. The hotel is always booked by the company I am visiting, so tehy must rate it highly. The rooms are clean, comfortable and well equipped. The staff are friiendly but not intrusive. Breakfast is continenetal but with lots of variety. I like staying here. The restaurant is excelent with many locals visiting (always a good sign). They serve traditional German fare and cater for vegetarians and fish eaters.

Spectacular view, tranquil place
Reviewed By hlinajsA Family runs this hotel located in the trees at the Hohe Flum hill. There is just this hotel on hill, no other houses or roads so place is very quiet and relaxing. One can hear only birds and wind in the trees.View from hotel is amazing and even better from observatory tower at the top of the hill, only 2minutes walk from hotel. We had good weather and could see clearly snowy peeks of Alps from tower. Rooms are small but cosy, with free wifi. Hotel has enough space for parking. Dinner was delicious, served on terrace and i really enjoyed it with combination of amazing view and tranquility.

Nice Rooms but aggressive and rude staff
Reviewed By anthonydowsettBooked into this hotel for 1 night whilst attending a concert in Schopfheim. It is a good 15 mins walk from the town, along a main road, so nothing attractive. The hotel itself looks quaint and is also a restaurant. However the restaurant does seem to take priority over the hotel. On arrival you have come into the restaurant to check in, we were greeted by a very rude/aggressive waitress who because we couldn't speak German, tutted and called another waitress over to check us in who could speak English. Check in was minimal. We were told no info and just given a key and pointed in the direction of the room. The room was very clean. We booked the deluxe, as reading the reviews standard rooms are tiny! The issue I had with the room was though it was large, clean and a lovely bathroom, there was no air con. It was roasting hot, but the room is on the ground floor and the windows opened onto a walkway going around the hotel with people passing all the time. The room also had no safe, so security wise I was not happy. Later that evening we left for the concert and asked for a taxi to be called, which the staff did straight away. We also ordered 2 glasses of wine from the bar whilst waiting. I wasn't charged so I presumed the drinks were added to our bill. Whilst getting into the taxi, the original rude waitress ran out of the hotel to stop us from getting in because we hadn't paid for our drinks. Highly embarrassing in front of the taxi driver. I off course went back in and tried to explain I thought it was added to the bill. Anyway I paid the 8 euros (not bad for 2 wines). On arriving back at the hotel around midnight, they had some function on until 2 am, which was extremely noisy, especially when everyone left via the walkway outside our windows. The next morning we checked out, and again minimal contact. We were charged 20 Euros for breakfast that we didn't have. Apparently breakfast is charged whether you have it or not. All in all, I have never experienced such shocking customer service in any hotel. We were treated like we were an effort for the staff. The restaurant certainly takes all their attention and the hotel just seems to be an annoying side line for them. Schopfheim is a lovely town, and the service was excellent in every other venue we visited.

Reviewed By californiahistorianThe rooms were very outdated and the carpet needed cleaning. The staff was there sporadically, but were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good. it looked like they once had a full restaurant and bar but that was now closed. We stayed for three nights.

Reviewed By Luigita76Not a luxury hotel but very clean modern and friendly staff. Big tv screen very large room nice shower and bed. There is also a sauna. They give a bottle of water e che day and haribo candies. Parking is for free. Breakfast is good with many different things salty and sweety
