No break out area early morning and late evening. Door from elevator to reception is closed - you feel like in a prison and cannot get out - except if you want use the side door outside but snow and very slippery. I complained to the owner but she just referred to the rules - not customer oriented at all. I told her that I had an accident and I fell. She did not ask how I was and if I needed an doctor. No empathy. No customer focus. Just mentioning the rules. The team in the hotel is nice and friendly. That’s not the case for the owner.

Perfect by all means!!! All the facilities are brand new and very well kept. Every single detail in this place - both inside the marvelous apartments and out - seems to have been made with the guests' comfort and convenience in mind. Our rooms, the many cabinets and shelves, our spacious bathroom separated from the toilet, the kitchen, the terrace; everything inside our apartment was comfortable, beautiful and functional. We felt like we were in a wonderful home! The garden is big and beautiful, and children can not only enjoy the playground but also have fun with the many toys available everywhere. Bicycles (for both adults and children) can be rented. Also, the spa area on the top floor is great, specially when it comes to the saunas. The owners were incredibly kind and friendly - as was their Senegalese assistant, whose big smile and disposition can light up the whole world around him. To sum it up, we spent almost a month in this place and I miss it so much it even hurts. As I will never, ever get enough of the Allgäu region, this place will definitely be our first choice when we go back there - hopefully soon.

We went to La Soa in late September for a complete chill-out having been working hard. We were not disappointed. Despite the weather being pretty bad we had a great time just relaxing in the chalet. The chalet has a spa bath, sauna, fabulous shower rooms and great kitchen/diner/sitting room. Free wifi and a great TV channels meant we could also indulge in some films. The chalet is luxurious with all the details you hope for from a place of this calibre. Very well equipped kitchen and with a super market up the road in Tannheimer we could cook a meal. But we also indulged in the restaurant at Las Soa and had a wonderful meal cooked by Henrich the chef. This hotel/chalets has everything thing you need for a luxurious getaway. I want to go back to ski!

I had a beautiful large silent bedroom on the second floor, with a first class walk-in shower. Velux window provided enough light but no view. I had an excellent, but expensive, evening meal in the attached restaurant. Breakfast was outstandingly magnificent - a huge feast that included honey from the comb. A great place to stay. Plenty of walking and mountain biking opportunities nearby, including some skiing in the winter, but the village itself has little to offer when on foot - as I was.

We highly recommend this beautiful accommodation. We spent 3 weeks here in a spacious, sunny and very well furnished, brightly decorated and thoughtfully equipped apartment (Bergblick). It was spotless and there were very regular linen changes, including tea-towels and kitchen cloths. The large balcony with table and chairs looks out over the Tannheim valley and it is very quiet and tranquil. The area has a great infrastructure for walkers, cyclists and skiers with a free bus (the passes are given you at the apartment) for the whole length of the valley, which is popular with Germans and relatively unknown to Brits (hence prices are lower). The owners are genuinely charming and helpful and the daily newssheet with details of the weather, walks and events became a treat to look forward to, together with the daily pre-ordered delivery of croissants, rolls and bread to the door. The kitchen had a particularly wide range of cooking equipment and good quality crockery etc. In the basement area there is a drying room for wet clothes or washing and a useful boot room with cleaning facilities for boots and sticks. On the floor above is a spacious lounge area with sunbeds, sauna and steam room , together with showers and towels. A real treat. Parking is indoors and spacious. You could spend months here doing walks from the door, whether flat or more challenging, and not repeat the route. There are 5 chair lifts within walking distance and local open air pools and numerous lakes. It truly is a walkers' paradise and once here you can easily manage without a car (bikes are for hire in the village of Schattwald). The food in this area is invariably good, hearty and with variety. Der Alte Post in the village has a great atmosphere and has good food from about 9-24 Euros. In Tannheim about 3 miles away Der Schwarze Adler has very beautiful decor and has the very best Apfelstrudel. The Dorf cafe is very well priced, buzzing, and has daily specials as well as an extensive menu. The local villages all have their own bands and Schattwald is no exception- Thursday evenings see them perform, gratis, outside the local Kindergarten with food and drink available and these are atmospheric events. A particularly noteworthy bonus of the apartment is that there are no hidden extra costs- no cleaning costs, taxes, electric etc. Everything is included in the given price. Additionally the house is prettily decorated in Austrian style everywhere. We have been to this valley 4 times in all now and it speaks volumes that we are already planning our return to Landhaus Alpensonne.

The rooms were spacious and clean, well furnished. Location is perfect for family winter holidays. Mrs. Durst provided all the information needed to make the most of downhill skiing, cross country skiing, snowboarding and walking. The village is small but has everything needed for a self-catering holiday. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming.
