Unexpected
Reviewed By Rbarbosa27I was not expecting to find such a great place in such a small village, but it happened. We were here for dinner only, so I can't comment on the hotel. The house itself is beautiful, renewed with tasted and keeping the old style. We were lucky to be there on low season, so the four of us had the dinner room to ourselves. The service was impeccable, the ingredients were really fresh and the simplicity of the dishes was delicious.

Reviewed By Philip BInvited to dinner with Camino friends at their hostel. Expected standard Albergue meal but this was really top-drawer. Clearly, the chef is well trained and enjoys his work. Excellent service, staff readily attending to individual requests.

We had an Ensuite room with beautiful views across the hills, you need to go to really appreciate this! Dinner was proper home cooking and Tonni was top man looking after us - Thank you ! Cycle store including power available.

Not only is the Camino de Santiago one of the great attractions of this lugar.Las Carballedas is surrounded by a large forest of oak, hence its name. This oak has a spectacular colored every month of the year, allowing visitors to enjoy peace of mind in stay besides relaxing panoramic views to our forests as "The Teleno" that stains white every winter. The rural development "Las carballedas" consists of four separate dwellings (apartments with one or two bedrooms each with twin or double beds, depending on the apartment) with living room, fireplace and bathroom in all of them, so it becomes the ideal place for medium and long stays because it has all the amenities you need a guest (free wifi, microwave, oven, refrigerator, television with usb port and all the kitchenware and textiles). The rural development "Las Carballedas", is located in the beautiful setting of maragateria. Specifically than a mile from the beautiful and historic village Rabanal del Camino and 20 kilometers from the maragata capital Astorga. Its location and the typical construction of thick stone walls make an ideal temperature measurement enjoy. In summer it is a cool house, ideal for rest and pleasant in winter keeps the warmth of your fireplace. We also have a large common area to join in their holiday weekends with friends or colleagues and to meet and lively conversation about the job already completed or is still to come or where you can have fun with the music by creating your own private party in the countryside. It has ample parking and possibility to store bikes, motorcycles ... The average capacity of each is 1 to 4, and the total capacity of the complex is 14 people. There is the possibility of catering for events such as weddings, communions ... offering outdoor facilities as regards hiring music tent, DJs, catering ...
Pathetic - never ever again
Reviewed By GigiDubaiThe place is 1,5km from Rabanal Del Camino. It's in the middle of nowhere. There's a main house and the back of the house is where the "apartments" are located. 1. The bathroom was filthy and dirty - had hairs on the floor 2. The kitchen was also not cleaned properly. 3. The Mattress is very old and very noisy. 4. The entire place in general is dirty and full of with dust. If you want to eat - you have to go to the city. 5. It was 4 degrees during the night and the owner of the place REFUSED to turn on the heater to save money. This is Pathetic !!! I asked several times for him to turn on the heater and he simply ignored. 6. They serve breakfast: packed juice, milk, and pre packed pastries. Ridiculous!!! I would advise anyone to book anywhere else, because here it's been a waste of my money.

Great Place
Reviewed By Janet DI’d had a long, hot walk from Astorga on the Camino. It was a relief to arrive at La Candela on the eastern edge of Rabanal, which is a very small town. I was quickly checked in and shown to my spacious, spotlessly clean room with a desk, chair, tv, and private bath. There is a comfortable common room, a bar/restaurant, and two outdoor seating areas. The proprietor is friendly and helpful. In addition to the Camino traffic, the bar is popular with the local residents. The town of Rabanal is just a 4-minute walk away, and features some hostels, a few places to eat, a store with a few supplies (also prepares vegetarian food), and an old church.

Reviewed By X5141HAjohnpA good menu selection but in the evening if you wanted a snack I think the service was poor. Has 16 covers outside and table and chairs outside. The chips were soggy none of the usual condiments provided. Maybe for the price a good deal.?

Cute place but noisy bed
Reviewed By sharibobI hate writing a negative review because the owner is very nice. The place is cute and very clean but the quality of sleep was terrible because one of the beds in our room squeaked every tiny move, even with earplugs it was extremely noisy. Also there should be no smoking on the balcony because the rooms all open up to the balcony and if someone is smoking it fills the room or you have to keep the windows closed. (Sorry smokers but the breeze makes your smoke travel right into other peoples’ rooms.)
