The hotel was clean and the bed confortable, but eeverything is small, the staff was not bad, but not the best, like just doing their job. The area is not pretty and the parking in an open space is 10 eur/night. So much and maybe the same security than parking in the industrial area in front of the hotel. If you are coming from Slovenia/Croatia without vignette and then, not using the highway is very difficult to reach the hotel. This hotel is just for sleep one night, not eating there, and continue the next day.

Just moments from the centre of Trieste, immersed in the Nature Reserve of Val Rosandra, the Residence Bleu is the ideal location to enjoy the Middle-European culture of the regional capital of Friuli-Venezia Giulia, the natural beauty of the Karst plateau and the beaches of Croatia and Slovenia. The serviced apartments, furnished for family use and with all the mod cons and household appliances for daily use, are the ideal solution for whoever wants to manage their own time, using Residence Bleu as their home base. Most apartments are wheelchair accessible. The property's underground car park, secure and free of charge, the large internal garden, furnished to enjoy meals alfresco, the bar and the laundry room make Residence Bleu a space to experience in full comfort. Your four-legged friends are also welcome!
We had a wonderful time at Residence Bleu. Our apartment was spotless en well equipped. We didn’t realise it was a hotel until we found out a cleaning lady would make our bed and change our towels every day. It felt so luxurious! The staff is very friendly and helpful. We also liked the washing facility and parking garage. We highly recommend this place!

Located in a small village in the municipality of San Dorligo della Valle, the Hotel La Fontana is a small hotel, recently restored, where you will find a warm family atmosphere. It also offers the opportunity to stop and enjoy the panorama that sweeps from Val Rosandra, destination for rock climbers, to the Gulf of Trieste, a paradise for sailors.
Ok, this is NOT a hotel like most of us envision. This is clearly someones house that was turned into a hotel or B&B. First finding this place was a nightmare. The roads to get to this place are 3 feet wide and with blind curves. The driveway was almost impossible to enter without multiple attempts and extreme automotive skills. Checking in was fun. A Woman holding a baby who clearly spoke limited English and was also clearly annoyed at our presence asked for and seized our passports then essentially walked us to our room which was decorated in a style I call "Crazy Aunt". Lots of pastels, odd patterned quilts, and lots and lots of creepy items like dolls. No joke the hallway was literally littered with dolls and doll accoutrements. Wi-Fi was horrible and the TV stations available were a joke. The room was quiet except for the barking dog and and the yowling cats outside. For the price we paid we are willing to overlook a lot which is why we rate this hotel a 3 rather than a 2. It was clean, and and quaint if you like B&B's or liked staying at Grandmas's house when you were a kid. Next time we will stay elsewhere

B&B "Sotto il Volto" is a relaxing and peaceful place in the middle of the Val Rosandra Natural Reserve (Trieste). It is located just a few km away from the border with Slovenia (only 3km from the highway) but in the meantime at only 10 minutes by car from the stunning city of Trieste, and also 5 minutes by car from Cattinara Hospital (TS). It offers 2 rooms of max 4 people each (8 people total); it offers a common guest kitchen and a garden with patio.
A friendly B&B, which is a good option for those walking the Alpe Adria Trail. Although check-in doesn’t normally start until 18.00, the owners offered to arrive earlier to let us in - and greeted us with cakes and beer! Plentiful breakfast and good value.

The B & B is located in an old barn recently restored and furnished with care, in the countryside yet only 12 minutes from the center of Trieste.Separate entrance and private parking, private bathroom and a kitchenette possibility. You will have our bikes, wi-fi, table football, tourist, a library bookcrossin and many other things. The structure lends itself to both the holiday and the short stay for business.Families with children are welcome (we can provide cot, high chair, changing table etc.)
We had a delightful, 2-night stay here and I wish we could have stayed longer! Our welcome was warm and friendly, the space was sparkly-clean and lovely, and the breakfast was generous. Don't be intimidated by the loft ceiling even if you are tall. It is just fine, and the bed is super-comfy. We ate at a local pizzeria, Casa Rosandra, the first night and returned the second night because it was so good. It is a good location for a day trip to Piran. We hope to return in the future to explore more of the area and take advantage of the opportunities for hiking.
