Rognan Hotel has a unique location right by the Salten fjord in the charming town of Rognan in Nordland, just North of the Arctic Circle between Mo i Rana, Fauske and Bodø. The main road E6 passes through the Saltdal valley, with comfortable distance (via Saltstraumen) to Lofoten, Tromsø and on to the North Cape. Our tourist class hotel with 60 spacious rooms incl. 3 suites has a maritime theme and the rooms are named after the wooden boats that were built in Saltdal. Standard and superior rooms with fjord view (some with balcony). In our restaurant you can eat a delicious meal while enjoying the beautiful fjord view. In the summer you can enjoy food and drinks on the dock. In the winter the Northern Lights are often seen, and the midnight sun shine in the summer. In Rognan you can stroll along the old docks and shore, shop, fish or visit some of the local attractions, like the National Park Centre, candle factory at Røkland, Salten Museum, the “Blood Road” Museum, the old millstone quarry and the WWII war cemeteries in Botn.Rognan is an excellent starting point for adventures and activities with short distance from the fjord to the mountain's natural beauty. Two national parks are part of the municipality: Saltfjellet-Svartisen National Park and Junkerdal National Park. The area is a paradise for fishing, caving, biking, boating, hunting, dog sledding, cross country skiing and scenic hiking. There are many great adventures to enjoy in Saltdal!
A small place with a great hotel, stunning view located close to the fjord. It is quiet and peaceful. The entrance, reception, dining area, bar, the common areas are moderen and welcoming. The staff is polite and helpful. In our wing of the hotel, the rooms were cheaper, not luxurious, but clean and have all you need for one nights stay. Ask for a room with a view of the see. The breakfast and bar were very good. At breakfast the chef made egg and bacon for us, just ask and get what you desire. Take time for a short walk around an look at the old wharfs close to the hotel, or enjoy a coffe at the outside seating at the hotel. The hotel can also host course or small conferences.

2 cabins. Each cabin has two separate bedrooms, bathroom and livingroom with kitchenette. Floorheating, TV, free Wi-Fi, free parking.
What a lovely piece of property surrounded by beautiful mountains! The hosts are very friendly folks who shared their love for their sled dogs with us, as we did ours with them! There was a nice, easy hiking trail nearby and a portion followed a lovely river. Unseasonably warm temperatures found us catching some sun in the evening while relaxing outside the beautiful cabin!

Velkommen innom!
Small rooms with small double bed that was made only for one person in a double room! We bad to make the bed ourselves. Aircondition in the room were noicy and not possible to turn off! The furniture in the rooms is worn down. Om top of this the rooms were expencive -same as for a hotelroom with breakfast -but here no breakfast.

Nice cabins, and overall facilities (kitchen and toilets/showers). Cabin was spacious and comfortable, with cooking facilities, except the sink (on the kitchen, 150m away). Staff is friendly, and reception open until late. Nice location!
