Desirably located near the white shoreline and crystal-clear waters of South Sands Beach, one of the most unspoilt beaches in South Devon, every element of this new waterfront hotel and resort is inspired by its surroundings – with many of the hotel’s 50 bedrooms and suites boasting superb sea views and balconies. Providing a relaxed beachside feel, the light airy rooms and suites are decorated with different shades of green, blue and mustard yellow colours to reflect the golden sands and turquoise blue of the ocean - with all the little thoughtful touches you would expect from a Harbour Hotel including 400 thread count Egyptian cotton sheets, complimentary gin sets from the Salcombe Gin Distillery, and organic Bramley toiletries. Some of the suites feature interconnecting family room options allowing parents to keep an eye on their children while enjoying a little time to themselves. There’s also a beachfront restaurant with a seafood-inspired menu showcasing the best flavours of the region and sweeping sea vistas, a wrap-around terrace and a chilled-out beach bar - Perfect for sandy toes after a day at the beach. Take advantage of the resort’s complimentary all-day shuttle service into town, for a gentle stroll through the boutique-filled streets of Salcombe and its picturesque harbour. For those looking to explore the estuary, the South Sands Ferry runs daily and allows guests to enjoy a picturesque trip to Whitestrand in the centre of Salcombe. For hikers, a sublime stretch of coastline begins at the front door, and the sheltered bay allows for year-round dips.
What a find! We’re regular visitors of Salcombe Harbour, but this beats it. My wife was undergoing treatment and the staff, from booking through to departure, couldn’t have done enough for us. Some very minor issues, to be expected from such a new hotel were dealt with quickly and with grace. Restaurant was a great experience, faultless. First class team, hotel and overall experience. Looking forward to seeing you at the end of the month. Thank you.

A delightful setting away ‘from the madding crowd’ with lovely views from the sea view room. It was easy to go on walks from the hotel as it is possible to access parts of the SW coastal path or Devonshire footpaths. The cove, a short walk from the hotel, provides access to the sea and a beautiful vista. All of the staff were pleasant, friendly and helpful without being intrusive. Indeed, nothing was too much trouble. The food was tasty and well presented from the cream tea to the evening meal. An enjoyable weekend away. Thank you.

Consistently winning awards as one of the best seaside hotels in the UK, this boutique spa hotel, with an unrivalled position on the water’s edge of Salcombe’s tranquil estuary, is a postcard-perfect seaside getaway. Salcombe Estuary and the harbour have been named an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). Following its recent multi-million pound refurbishment, the 50-room boutique now features stunning contemporary interiors, extensive outdoor terraces with panoramic estuary views and first class facilities. The public spaces and many of the bedrooms, boast stunning estuary views.
This is a super hotel, very well located just at the edge of bustling Salcombe, and right on the estuary with the most amazing views. We had a balcony sea view room, expensive but oh so worth it. The balcony was sheltered and sunny, a great place to while away an hour or two watching the boats go by. We ate in the Jetty restaurant every evening of our 3 night stay - which worked because there was plenty of choice. The food was very good indeed, generous portions and good honest focus on taste. The staff were without exception helpful and friendly, right from the lovely welcome from the man who parked our car, (so so nice after a stressful drive from London), the cheerful helpful staff in the dining room, and not least the driver of the shuttle bus who went out of his way to help us get where we wanted. It really made our day.

My daughter and I walked from Bigbury on Sea to Hope Cove today, some 7 miles. We stopped here for afternoon tea, which was absolutely superb! The service from the hotel staff was exemplary, I couldn’t recommend The Cottage Hotel Restaurant high enough! Thank you for a fabulous experience!

The Hope and Anchor In is set in the popular and unique old fishing village of Hope Cove, here in the South Hams of Devon. With breathtaking scenery, you really will be spoilt for choice. Obviously, the area is renowned for it's clifftop walks and on a blustery day, there really is nothing better than a walk around the miles of unspoilt coastline and countryside to invigorate the spirit. All our bedrooms are en-suite, mostly of which have breathtaking views of Bigbury Bay. There is a lovely area outside with tables and umbrellas so you can enjoy the atmosphere of Hope Cove whilst enjoying our fine ales, lunch or an evening meal. Situated yards from the sea teeming with maritime atmosphere our friendly Inn caters for all.
We stayed in Hope Cove when we were younger and were looking forward to our stay. We had booked a coastal view room for 2 nights. The room was fine although compact and doors rattled at night. My husband put a bit of card in the gap which helped solve the problems. We needed to move rooms for the third night and the staff moved our belongings which was great. This room was bigger but building work was going on outside from 9.00 which we were not advised of. The shower tray did not drain quickly enough so couldn’t have a long shower. This room was £150 per night and the previous one was £175. Beds in both rooms were very comfortable. However the worst part of the stay was the breakfast. On the first morning they ran out of orange juice. On the second morning they ran out of orange juice and yoghurts. On the third morning again there were no yoghurts. I ordered stack of pancakes with yoghurt and blueberries. When it arrived there were no blueberries and it had clotted cream rather than Greek yoghurt- no explanation was given. My husband ordered scrambled eggs but it was like boiled egg that had been chopped up. There was one person serving breakfast and we were not asked how breakfast was. Hotel reception is the bar area and in the morning the only person there was the cleaner so very difficult to give feedback. However, all the staff were very friendly. We did enjoy our stay but not good value for money at £505 for 3 nights bed and breakfast

Opened in May 2010, this New England style, boutique hotel set in arguably the county's finest coastal location. 22 beautifully appointed bedrooms...offer the ideal place to escape from it all and relax and unwind. You can see the sea from most of them and almost touch it from the balconies in rooms 9 and 10. 5 opulent beach suites...ideal for families or for those looking for more space and independence.
One arrival for our meet we were greeted and shown to the casual lounge area for a drink prior to our meal, this was a great relaxed space for a pre-dinner drink. We were seated in the far left corner of the restaurant in our own nook with an oval table, which was definitely the best seat in the house. Service was excellent and Jack the new bar manager was most entertaining and brilliant with us. We ordered starters, mains and desserts including, scallops, seafood linguine, steak and sticky toffee pudding. The food was fantastic and tasted delicious. It was great that we could have our spaniel with us in the restaurant too. A must visit if you are in Salcombe which amazing beachside views!

We had the misfortune to book this property through Booking.com as a one night stay on 14.8.21. After a long day walking and 4 hour drive to it we discovered it does not exist as a business, just a derelict property that clearly hasn’t been touched in a long time. Please do NOT book it even if it still comes up on a search. We had to drive home (cancelling pre-booked pub and taxi for following day)! I took a few photos showing mattresses stacked up in a downstairs room, rotten terrace, overgrown garden, it wasn’t even safe to walk around.
