This is the business hotel to closest Sakudaira Station. The cleanliness of the hotel, the small size of the rooms including the bathrooms, and the rather old bathroom facilities are items that can be found in many other business hotels, and if you are used to them, you will not feel particularly uncomfortable. The area around the Sakudaira station is basically quiet, although there are some commercial facilities, so you will be able to spend a comfortable night without feeling any noise. On the other hand, compared to the number of rooms, having only one elevator would be a bit inconvenient. This is because you often have to wait to get to your room or to get down to the first floor. In addition, the elevator cage is small enough to accommodate 10 people without luggage, so if you have a large suitcase, you may have to wait even longer to get on the elevator. There are some restaurants around the hotel, but many of them are closed at night, not to mention late at night. Therefore, you need to be procured late night meals at convenience stores, but there are no convenience stores in the area. The closest one is about a 5-minute walk away. In bad weather, you might want to get some food before you check in.

This hotel is a little older than some of the others and probably is due a renovation - or at least new carpet for the rooms. The check in / foyer is pretty basic. Rooms are very small but practical with a small fridge. Very good wifi makes it good for work. Heaps of restaurants close by and a 2 minute walk to the train station.

Outdated hotel but all conditions are in good order, room are quite large in Japan standard. Staffs are polite and very helpful. We arrived the hotel at ~22:15 after 1 day traveling and driving, the onsen are very good for relaxing and we borrowed the sealing tape and marker pens to pack my "Mount Fuji Diamond" to Hong Kong. Front Desk staff are very helpful. Hotel have a store in the hotel with many local products and fruits with cheap price. Breakfast are good and just only 20 minutes drive to Karuizawa, if you travel to Karuizwa with driving, it's good to stay here with good onsen, breakfast with price is much cheaper than in Karuizawa.

Stayed here for one night on a cycle tour. Weren't put out at all by me arriving tired and dirty. Room was bigger than average for a single room in Japan. A little careworn but clean and fully-functioning. Had a warming and relaxing soak in their small onsen - slightly dated but again clean and functional. Dinner was amazing Japanese food: sashimi, tempura, carp. An absolute feast. Breakfast similar. The staff were kind and understanding of me, speaking basically no Japanese and took very good care of me. They even sent me away with a bag of apples to fuel me on the next leg of my journey!
