Home to the four-day Roskilde Festival, arguably the best European rock festival, hilly Roskilde is less than 20 miles from Copenhagen. If hordes of rock stars aren't pillaging the town of 50,000, the excellent Viking ship museum is Roskilde's prime attraction. Featuring five ships discovered at the bottom of the fjord, you can add to the Viking experience by rowing the fjord on an hour-long longboat trip. The town is also famed for its much adapted 12th-century Roskilde Domkirke Cathedral.

The small resort dates back to 1916, excellent located facing Roskilde Fjord with stunning views! 28 standard double and superior rooms - some with balconies and all facing the sea. The hotel has a very popular Danish, French and Italien a la carte restaurant with great outdoor service as well. An extensive wine list is available and many wines by the glass. Recently the hotel was taken over by experiences hoteliers and many new products and interiors are being replaced here in 2018 and 2019. The resort is also an excellent venue for small conferences and family gatherings/banquets. Welcome back to Badehotel Søfryd! Martin & Anders (new owners) since Oct. 2018
We were given a fabulous room with balcony overlooking the fjord which gave us a wonderful sunset. This great hotel has tables inside and out, with excellent breakfast and dinner. Garden takes you down to the waterside.

Peaceful two story hotel overlooking a park, located 1.5 km from the city center & historical sites; 1 km from railway station.
We were extremely dissatisfied at the Receptions hospitality service. We were given a Go Dream gift card by a friend that we decided to use at Scandic Roskilde. The gift card was simple and stated clearly that it was an overnight stay with a 2 course dinner. On arrival we were handled by a woman at the reception who insisted we were offered the option of only wine or the 2 course dinner at the time of booking. This was not the case at all and our gift card clearly stated the 2 course dinner. The woman at reception actually said she manually changed it to accommodate our needs and told us she has our credit card details in file and once she double checks with the team at go dream on Monday she will proceed accordingly. It looked like she didnt trust what we said - for a 2 course dinner - than a bottle of wine?? Terrible hospitality service. The chefs 2 course dinner was a steak with fries and vegetables. Our order was taken where we said we would prefer the steak to be rare and the other medium rare. The steak was as dry as a cardboard and extremely overdone to which we were told they couldn't make any changes as this was cut from a larger portion that has been in the oven. We couldn't eat it lest our jaws fall out. However, our compliments to the chef for his excellent treatment of the vegetables which were delicious. We were asked how our dinner went - and we honestly pointed at the dry meat that we just couldn't eat. We were shocked that the chef could actually pass this for a guest! This is when the woman at the restaurant really lifted our mood as she saw this was certainly not fair and offered us another refreshment along with our dessert. Its a shame given that Roskilde is a fishing village and we could not see that reflected in the menu. We really wished we just ate outside the hotel in Roskilde. Are we going to stay at this hotel again? definitely not. This hotel shouldn't depend on Gift Card bookings if they cant offer a standard quality service to all their customers.

Had booked a Superior room w Hotels.com The room ( # 101 ) did not appear to be a Superior Double at all. Bathroom was only set up for 1 person, ( extra towels in the wardrobe cabinet ) and the room was really small, with no coffee maker or water boiler. There was a small table and 2 chairs. Thankfully we didn't travel with luggage except for 1 carry on size case, so we were able top open it. There is a very limited number of TV channels. Surely not what I'd call a 'superior' room. It appeared to be a very regular standard room. The phone doesn't have any instructions on how to reach the reception. Breakfast was nice, rather nice actually.

Zleep Hotel Prindsen Roskilde is a classic hotel, located in central Roskilde. The building is more than 300 years old and has always been an integral part of the local environment. The hotel's rooms and banqueting halls have facilitated large events as well as a simple breathing space for business travelers and tourists alike. The hotel's central location in Roskilde makes it a popular choice if you want to experience the many cultural attractions in Roskilde, or if you just need to get home easily after a night out. The hotel is placed in walking distance to, among other things, Roskilde Cathedral, the Viking Ship Museum and the City Park. The lounge area at the hotel was renovated in 2016 and ensures a cozy atmosphere in which the historic feel of the building is still going strong. The room types vary a bit on the four room wings as they have all been built in different decades, but all rooms offer a comfortable bed, a private bathroom with showers of high quality, a TV and free WiFi.
Soft, uncomfortable beds resulting in very poor sleep and a sore back. (Most hotels have far firmer mattresses). Also very variable service - ranging from good to very poor. Shame, because the location is excellent, breakfast is reasonable and there is good parking. However, as things stand, we definitely couldn’t recommend this hotel

Modern Countryside B&B with an long view of the sunset just 10 minutes drive from Roskilde and Solrod Beach. Free wi-fi, free parking, new bathrooms, tea kitchen, living rooms with TV, bedrooms with balcony or terrasse, yard with sunchairs and dining tables and quiet starry nights.
We did not receive a “pre-arrival” email advising us of a 5pm check-in and 10am check-out or the code to the main door. We arrived at 4:30pm and were rather confused and frustrated. We finally got in contact with the owner and were able to gain access. We had Room 1, but no safe and no key to the room. You could only lock the room from the inside. The Glorified Hostel is a solid 20 minute drive to Roskilde. The facility is clean and has a full kitchen, minus the food. There are some sweets and wine for sale, but that’s it. Not sure how this is a B&B, without the breakfast included or at least a banana on the counter. The rooms are very small and the bathroom is lacking basic amenities. On the positive side, the common room is large and comfortable and we enjoyed (our purchased in advance wine) on the balcony and watched the sun set over the fields. Plan on being out by 10am, as the cleaning ladies will be there and waiting....

Sadly was not completely impressed. First dish with herring was fantastic, but second dish with fish was burned and tough to eat. The service though was extremely friendly and the bathroom facilities nice. But, again would point out the interior design to be average. Returning unfortunately would not be high on my list. Not good value for money.

Near Roskilde and Lejre. Nice and cozy B&B in old farm house. Access to large living room with dining area. Breakfast is served (extra fee) - you can cook your own dinner.
Booked this plave one hour out of openhagen as the city is expensive and busy over the weekends. Awesome clean rooms, gerat open spaces with all the amenities one would need in a bed and brakfast. Frendly and helpful owner with ease of register and pay. Love the tranqill atmosphere and the peace and quiet after a day in the city. Defenately a place to stay when visiting the bust city onle a few miles away.

Our room was dirty, something resembling snot smeared next to one of the beds. The pillows very old. The toilet seat was broken, we reported it, nothing was done. Black mold in the shower. Breakfast was disappointing on the last day, we were told that rundstykker would not be made available until all the bread was eaten. Not very service minded staff. One would think that after three months corona virus lock down, they would have used the time to clean and renovate their rooms, alas No! On the positive great harbourside location, next to the Viking ship museum. Recommend you bring your own pillows if you choose to stay.
