We stayed at Hotel Hacienda Guachipelin last week and loved it! Our room had a king-size bed, a double bed, and a single bed, which was perfect for my husband and me and our two teenage sons. The landscaping is amazing - beautiful flowers, tons of birds right outside our door and all over the property. Great hiking trails right on the property, and the waterfalls were amazing! We also loved the pool, the restaurants, and the adventures we did through their adventure center. Also, the soap, shampoo, lotion, etc were unique to this property and were my favorites of anywhere we've ever stayed. Highly recommend this hotel for anyone traveling to Costa Rica!

Blue River Resort and Hot Springs is an authentic Costa Rica experience in the rainforests of Rincon de la Vieja. There is a large fresh water pool & bullet slide, the spa, botanical gardens, butterfly farm, iguana and frog pond and much more. Set out on several authentic eco Costa Rica adventure tours, all nearby. Eco-tours include visits to gorgeous blue volcanic rivers and waterfalls by horseback, nature walks, volcano hike, zip-lining across waterfalls and much more. The breadth of eco-nature tours will amaze you. Blue River Resort & Hot Springs offers luxury accommodation in new, spacious 720 square foot cabanas. Book your dream Costa Rica vacation!
We stayed at the Blue River Resort for a few days at the end of May and it was a great start to our Costa Rica vacation. I can't say enough good things about the resort and the staff. The grounds were absolutely beautiful with so many colorful plants and flowers that we had never seen. The room was clean, comfortable and spacious with a great porch for morning coffee and listening to the birds. The warm mineral pools were soothing as we soaked while a green basilisk lizard kept us company. The volcanic mud and natural sauna were such a cool experience and we visited the hummingbirds and the butterflies every day. We all enjoyed the meals in the restaurant and the staff was both friendly and helpful. Bernal was our guide for both ziplining and the hike to the waterfalls and we recommend him with complete confidence. He was particularly focused on making sure our daughters were safe at all times so they could enjoy the experience completely. Ziplining under howler monkeys and by a waterfall is just one of many lifetime memories. Thank you all for a great time!

The Hot Springs Spa at Borinquen Mountain Resort is your exclusive vacation spot located in Guanacaste in the North Pacific Region of Costa Rica. The Hotel was designed and created in 1999 with the sole purpose of unlocking the exceptional beauty of the Rincon de la Vieja countryside and bringing it to the world. When you visit Hotel Borinquen you are literally stepping into a world apart.
This was our first time at Borinquen but it will not be our last. The place is beautiful. The cabins are surrounded by so much natural beauty. The mud baths and hot springs were very therapeutic. You can't beat enjoying the hot springs while watching howler and spider monkeys move through the trees next to you late in the afternoon or watch a group of toucans jump from branch to branch. The cabins were beautiful and had everything we needed during our stay. The General Manager Emilio was always checking on us to make sure we had what we needed and the entire restaurant staff was great. Shout out to Jose down at the mud bath and hot springs; the man is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to the flora and fauna in the area. While we went as a family this beautiful place is also great for a couple's trip. We will be back.

Buena Vista Eco Lodge & Adventure Center. Whether you chose a day of pure relaxation or outright adventure, you’ll return to traditional and rustic hacienda style living. We offer 76 comfortable rooms in 3 different categories to choose from, Cabins, Lago or Hacienda. Our "sabanero style" lodge maintains long held local traditions, tons of friendly local staff, and no shortage of beautiful vistas that are sure to nurture your body, mind and spirit.
Let's start with the good points; the grounds are amazing and plentiful! Lots to do here and views are superb. From hanging bridges, to nature trail, to thermal springs, lots of options. There are also zip lines and horse riding too, which we did not partake in, but loads of day trippers come to the hotel for the day pass which includes these. Food is first class! We were a bit put off at first as only one restaurant was open the whole time we were there, but not sure how many people where staying over night, as it never seemed very busy, but very good quality for lunch and dinner. Breakfast was included in our stay and was also plentiful and good. We also had some burgers and chips at the look out one night, which was also very good value for money! Bar/restaurant staff where all helpful and polite. Our check in experience was appalling! Very abrupt and rude and no offer of escorting us to our accommodation or helping with luggage, so it was pretty much here's a map and of you go. Very different to other places we stayed in Costa Rica. Major confusion with our room, we were under the impression that we booked a lake room and we didn't get this at all. When enquiring what we did have with front house staff, all we kept being told was we had a superior room - however superior to what was never understood. If what we had was superior, would have been interested to see the inferior! It was just a very basic and lacking in comfort, and cleanliness and not to mention the broken lamp/and wall socket! It didn't help that bathroom had no hand soap at all - especially during post pandemic times, when we asked for this, we were told that the insects eat it! Not sure why they couldn't have liquid dispensers as they did for the shower gel. During the duration of our stay a gentleman introduced himself asking us for feedback on the hotel in general as his job was to attract more over night guests to the hotel. We explained our feedback and he actually came to look at our room and was rather shocked at the broken lamp/socket scenario. All in all, we would venture back to this property if the rooms got taken care of a bit more and we were actually given the room we asked for, as you can't take away from the location, the nature/wildlife you can see there and the food.

This place is amazing. The rooms are clean, the beds are very comfortable and the staff more than friendly. We booked a horseback riding tour with the horses of the farm itself; very nice activity to do in the morning. We had a room with a view on the woods, where you can see many birds from the terrace.

Surrounded by beautiful gardens just 8 kms from Liberia, we offer a different way to enjoy the natural beauties that surround the Guanacaste National Parks as Santa Rosa, Rincon de la Vieja and Palo Verde.Canyon de la Vieja Lodge offers 50 rooms of which two have access for people with special needs, each has a small front terrace, equipped with double beds, air conditioning, private bathroom, hot water and amenities.
Good place to spend the night before returning our rental car and flying out of Liberia. About 20 minutes from the airport burst you would never know it. Basic clean and comfortable cabinas with good air conditioning and wifi. We completed our preflight Binex tests here. ( Negative) Swam in the river, and soaked in the hot springs. Saw beautiful motmots on the grounds. They offer a variety of adventures but we did not participate. Spoke with one group who had an exciting day, and highly recommended their tours.
