We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights, July 23-26, part of a 9 day coach trip with Leger Holidays. The hotel's website presents the hotel to be a great place for rest and relaxation. Boasting lovely views with comfortable rooms, including a fridge in the rooms. This, sadly, was not the case for us... Upon arrival, our party were all checked in very quickly and allocated rooms. Our room, on the first floor, was a family room, which had a strong smell (of dog?) and the carpet was dirty and stained. We returned to reception and kindly asked if we could have another room. At first they said no, but as we headed back to the room the receptionist caught up with us and said they had found another room. We moved to room 317. It was large and clean, very dated with an exceptionally small bathroom and in need of renovation, but better than the first room. We soon realised that it did not have a fridge and even worse no view. When we pulled back the curtains to open the windows (the room was very stuffy) we were horrified to find a wall just a few feet away! The noise from the street below was also very loud!!! Had we been staying for 1 night, or on business, we would have put up and shut up. However, we had paid a lot of money and were on holiday, so we asked again if there were any other rooms, but there were not. Other guests from our Leger Group were enjoying a very different holiday experience in renovated rooms at the back of the hotel with mountain views, balconies, bigger bathrooms etc. etc. Even the drivers had better rooms than us. Pot luck I suppose, but if you are booking direct, then PLEASE, PLEASE make sure you select a refurbished room at the back of the hotel! I was too upset to go to dinner, or indeed breakfast the next morning. Breakfast was included and in the evenings, our group was booked in for three course meals. The food was delicious, we were delighted with both the quality and presentation. Service was very slow, but we had an excellent lady server. Unfortunately they do a big have a problem with flies in the restaurant which mars the dining experience. So instead of this hotel being the expected highlight of our trip, it turned into an absolute nightmare! I felt imprisoned and hated every moment I spent in that room! We had daily excursions booked, so unfortunately we did not have time to move to an alternative hotel. The resort/hotel is predominately a winter destination and does not cope well with the heat. There is no air conditioning, the duvets are thicker than the pillows and if at the front/side of the hotel it's too noisy to have the windows open! After our day trip, on the second night of our stay, I again inquired at reception if any rooms had become vacant - alas the answer was no. I expressed my disappointment and was told by the young man on reception that someone would come and see us later - I soon realised that he had said this to get rid of me. After that the reception staff avoided eye contact with us. To say that I didn't like this hotel is understatement, Room 317 should not be allocated to paying guests. I was only happy when we checked out and also had a great sense if relief! We will never return this hotel in future, not even if it was free of charge!!! However, it is in a good location and as long as you ensure that you have a refurbished room at the back of the hotel, then you should be OK!

This was my first time, and definitely not my last time, staying at Hotel Maximilian. Gabi was an amazing owner who takes of her guests needs and treats you like family. Top notch chief who prepared wonderful dinners every night, from the garlic soup, to the Wiener Schnitzel, and of course the home made Viennese Apfelstrudel. Plus you are so close to so many attractions like hiking trails, ski resorts, and museums.

This was our first stopover on our way to the middle part of Italy. The unfortunate part is that we arrived with heavy rain. But that was just a small inconvenience. We had one of the downstairs apartments with plenty of room to sleep. Taking a shower without making the entire bathroom wet was a real challenge...no shower curtain of glass wall. Dinner and breakfast was excellent.

Wow! What a great family experience. So much to do right there at Burgenwelten Ehrenberg. Kids just loved it. The incline, the museums (Ritter Ruettiger included!), the bridge, the castle. If you do run out of stuff to do on site, the local area is stunning, and you're 20 minutes from Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau in Bavaria. Room was spacious, clean, comfortable, and the bathroom was huge and had heated floors! Restaurant was great and had a kids menu and our kids actually ate!

We fell in love with this heart-warming place. Situated in a dreamy village, this small charming hotel with its quaint atmosphere , old-times design, spacious and comfortable rooms, great dining hall with the cosy fire-place and warm waterbeds offers everything the traveler could ask for. Special gratitude to Kathi and Marcus for their kindness and 24/7 care!

As I am 8 months pregnant as we got married, an exotic honeymoon was out if question, instead we searched for somewhere not too far away for a quick change of scenery. Hotel Talhof was perfect, great views, easy to reach, friendly staff both at check in/out and in the restaurant. Our room was bigger than expected and very clean. I had asked for a room with a shower and we had one with a walk in shower which was perfect for me, no squeezing my baby bump against a shower door. The restaurant had restricted opening times and a small menu, but with 4 standard dishes and a dish of the day, there was plenty to choose from. I had schnitzel and Pommes and it was one of the best schnitzels I've had since I've lived in Germany. Hubby had filet steak and was also very impressed. Breakfast had everything we needed, traditional continental and good coffee. Would definitely recommend.

Great hotel for an overnight stay or a longer vacation. Lovely room, our had a beautiful view, and of a very high standard. Breakfast was very good and the restaurant is excellent. Must make a point about the reception: the young lady on duty was one of the best receptionist that we have encounter in our long life of travels. Nothing was too much for her and her English was very good. Pity that we could not book a room for our return journey as they were full.

We stayed one night at Gintherhof . The place, the location , the hospitality were so great that we did not want to leave. The rooms were so cozy, the beds so comfortable. The breakfast and presentation were 5 stars. Anelies is the best host. I highly recommend the place not only because it close to the castle. I wish I spent more time there

The staff were incredibly friendly and polite. Nothing was too much trouble, and it was lovely to be greeted with a smile every time you passed reception. The rooms are lovely with incredible views. The beds were really comfortable and spotlessly clean. The food was incredible…that alone would be worth the stay. I can’t rate this hotel highly enough, it’s head and shoulders above all the other hotels I’ve stayed in on our current trip around Europe.
