A typical but good german hotel
Reviewed By EeroEWe were visiting a friend in Regen so I looked for a hotel conveniently close to town. The Gasthof zur alten Post is not too far, 6-7 km from the center and close to a major highway so it was selected. We did not need to regret the decision. The restaurant and the hotel are two separate buildings next to each other. The Gasthof is old and must have been a hotel/restaurant for a long time. Then a new hotel building was erected and here we had our room. The building is new so the room was spacious and very clean, with a good bathroom and a separate toilet. The beds were quite hard but good to the back, the covers in typical bavarian style massive down-filled items, rather short to my stature. Oddly, there was only one chair. The ventilation was not effective, the window needed to be kept ajar, which can be a problem during the cold period. There was a lift, not othervise usual in the german country guesthouses. The breakfast was standard, nicely presented and all the necessary food was there but no extras.

Reviewed By Wanderers58Very convenient to Regen centre and is excellent value accommodation. This is not a high service set up with a 24 hr menu and bar but nevertheless represents excellent value for money and the staff are very helpful and efficient.Good buffet breakfast .Car parking adjacent if required. The swipe card key system for the rooms is a pain until you master it.

Reviewed By Heiko SNette Aufnahme an der Rezeption, vernünftig gezeigt bekommen wie es zum Zimmer geht. Zimmergröße wunderbar und auch das Badezimmer völlig ausreichend und alles sauber. Das Highlight war das Frühstücksbüffet am nächsten Morgen - einfach nur lecker und reichhaltig zudem ist der Service sehr aufmerksam und freundlich! Gerne wieder!

Quiet holiday park
Reviewed By Jonathan vWe were staking in this park for a bit of rest and peace. This is fulfilled. The park is quiet and peaceful. The houses are big and Well-equipes. It is located near the national park Bohemian wood.. A good place for hiking and biking. You can also ask the local bakers to deliver your German Bread to the park on a daily basis, which is nice. Regretfully none of the houses has a clear view on the surrounding valley. It is blocked by large trees or other houses most of the time. The park does not have many faciliteit too, it has a reception. A few places where kids can plat, and ... Houses and trees. That's the stort morning glory.
