Stayed here for two nights with a friend. Accommodation very good and lots of winter sports activities available. Would suit those who are able to take advantage of all that is on offer. We did 2 x Finn horse trips which was lovely in the forest at night. There is a zoo on site as well which was good, although brown bears in hibernation until end of March. Food on site not great, especially if you have special dietary requirements which we did. They take you to a supermarket on the way from the airport but as you don’t know what is already in your accommodation it would have been better later. I enjoyed my stay but would not go here again

We stayed here for one night with a package from secret escapes, after staying two nights at holiday village gulo gulo. The igloo is very small but fine for the one night. Tea and coffee making facilities but we had to boil the kettle on the floor next to the bed as there is not enough room in the kitchenette. Nothing to do here but sit back and chill. The restaurant and reception aren’t currently open, so a minibus takes you back to gulo gulo village for food. Beautiful setting.

Open 1.6. - 31.8. every year, 8 am. - 10 pm. Ranuanjarven Ranuan campsite is located in southern Lapland. The village center is 3 km and 6 km Ranuan Wildlife Park. There are cabins for 2 and 4 persons and a caravan area. A beautiful lake to swim and the opportunity to rent kayaks for example. There are a trampoline, a mini golf course and a playground for the children.
We stayed in a three bed cabin for one night after a long drive up from Helsinki. The cabins are basic but clean - we had one with a kitchen but the stovetop was rendered somewhat pointless as there were no pots, pans or utensils! As the rest of our trip was in AirBnBs, we hadn't brought anything with us! Luckily the main building has a communal kitchen/dining area open 24/7 with everything you could need, so we just used that. The cabins are very sweet and the views amazing. Curtains do a fairly reasonable job of keeping out the midnight sun. Showers/toilets were good - clean and bright. Obviously the mosquitos everywhere are actual hell, but if you're not expecting to have to kill a few before you shower, you shouldn't be in Lapland! Definitely the perfect location for heading to Ranua Zoo - it's a 5 min drive away!

This place has similar rates than a superior room in an established Nordic hotel chain. You'd think that the price would be reflected in quality, but no. The rooms do not have air conditioning, so it is scorching hot. Ventilation through the window is not possible as there are no mosquito nets installed - a crucial thing in Lapland. The minibar fridges have been taken out of use, but left in the rooms anyway for some weird reason. Service? Can be best described by the receptionist/waiter bringing in a dish, walking directly past the utensils and then pointing back to them and telling the customer to fetch them yourself. Two hours later, you have the opportunity to sit down next to your food remains as nobody bothered to collect them away. Several tables were loaded with leftovers from hours back. Yuck. This place is at best a low-end motel, but priced as it would be a fancier hotel.
