Wonderfully facing south in the beauty of a pristine environment, Borgata Alleve awaits. Just beyond Pragelato, just minutes from the lifts of Sestriere and the Milky Way, the village can offer all the benefits and feelings of total immersion in the real mountain. Overlooking the Val Troncea Natural Park, the Borgata Alleve you will discover the pleasure of skiing and off-piste skiing through forests of larch and exciting landscapes. And in summer the valley becomes the ideal setting for horseback or mountain bike rides and hikes. Alleve township is a different choice, because it really unique. In Borgata Alleve you discover the charm of old cottages renovated with respect for the culture of their first inhabitants. The preservation of the original architectural elements has been the recovery of the character and the whole project basis. We used the same materials of the past to leave unchanged the original spirit of the place. We chose the strength of the stone and the warmth of wood to make you rediscover the values of authentic mountain, without sacrificing the comfort you are used to. Because a major purchase is not just a matter of the heart. The Borgata Alleve you just relax, in complete serenity: a concierge service directly related to housing will be at your disposal for any kind of assistance, and in the center of the village you will find an inn with mini-market, restaurant and hotel rooms. In winter, a unique snow removal contract will always fit for use on the road access to the Borgata Alleve, while the landing platform will connect it with the air ambulance service. A riding stable, a tennis court and soccer will complete the entertainment options that Borgata Alleve offers. A mountain village built with love of nature by men of ancient traditions. A village that has maintained its characteristics, but that time has slowly depopulated. Then the choice of recovery, in the continuity of a tradition. Revive Borgata Alleve was our choice. To offer you the mountain that you had forgotten, the privilege to decide how to live it. Because the village is reborn you will find the unique seduction of an ongoing story.
Unfortunately the service was very bad, the lady (that I suppose was the Locanda's owner) was not able to explain what we ordered. Looks like they use a lot of pre-cooked food. They were quite rude and the price was exceptionally high! If you want to pay $$$$ for a poor level food and bad service, go there!

I was one of four in a double room with a 'couch sofa???' The couch sofa was supposedly a bed not a couch even though the 'mattress' was thinner than a slice of American cheese. My bed, the fourth which was added, had no cover or blanket and when one of my roommates asked to send some up, she was told, 'Why didn't you tell me before?' Needless to say nothing was sent up. Luckily there was an extra blanket in the closet. The restaurant was even worse than the gelid reception from the staff! One would think you could expect decent food in Italy, but think again. Packaged food for breakfast along with automatic machine coffee and LEFTOVER mush (a kind of so called risotto from the evening buffet) for lunch! Absolutely unbelievable! I can say that the bathroom was clean and new - the only good thing about the hotel.

Recently, i stayed at this hotel for a ski trip. The hotel itself was really nice and spacious and had great italian cultural aspects to it. I stayed in a room for 4 and it was big and everything worked perfectly! The views from the balcony were amazing. Overall, i was very happy with the accomodation! Unfortunately, there was something that let this hotel down. I have been to italy many times and i have tried lots of different italian food but this has to be the worst italian food i have ever had. Breakfast was very repetitive and dinner was terrible. It wasnt just me who thought this it was everybody. Everything we got served was just collected back up because nobody out of the 60 of us liked it! Going back onton the positives, we used the swimming pool quite alot and it was lovely! It wasnt really heated it was lukewarm but still lovely! It is important to note that the hotel is a 20 minute drive away from the ski slopes in Sestriere! Overall my stay was average but the food has let this hotel down massively!

The suggestion of an old mountain house added to a fine architectonical taste, gives to the cluster of apartments of Casa Grande a familiar comfortable look, either if we are looking for a one room apartment or a three room one.
Casa Grande is situated in a small and quiet village, and is - like the other houses in the village - an authentic big house built in the historical style of the region. It's perfect for people who are not looking for tourist villages, but prefer to stay with the locals. Still, you are close to the big road, and grocery shops, restaurants and all kinds of services are very nearby. The owners of Casa Grande live next to the house and are very friendly and helpful. We have been in 2 of the apartments several times and our experience is that they have everything we need: lots of space for luggage and bikes, washing machine, decent cooking gear etc. The house remains fresh in the summer without the need for air conditioning. The purpose of our travels is always sports: mountain biking, hiking, cross country skiing, snowshoeing. The location is perfect for this kind of activities, but also for people who like to enjoy nature in a slower way, visit beautiful villages, etc. In our opinion, Casa Grande is the best choice for a stay in Pragelato.

The mountain hut is located at 1670m above sea level at the entrance of "Val Troncea". It's easily accessible on foot or by bicycle, during the summer, or with snowshoes or cross-country skiing in the winter. The restaurant offers typical local cuisine and is open every day during summer and winter, weekends in the autumn and spring month. The structure also has 17 beds with private bathrooms.
I spent a week here over New Years with my boyfriend. We found this rifugio on booking.com half a year ago and thought it would be a cool experience to try out, instead of the normal alp hotels in the villages. We were not disappointed :) We don't speak Italian and the rifugio staff didn't speak English, but luckily we could communicate a bit in French as common language with the main host Pierluigi Lantelme. We had planned to have some dinners in the rifugio and some in Sestriere or Pattemouche, but it ended up with us having all our dinners in the rifugio - including New Year's Eve which was a great experience! The rifugio is very simple but comfortable. It's a place for relaxing and having good Italian food and drinks. We had no cell phone reception from the rifugio, and wifi was very unsteady - so just be prepared to shut down from social media and work emails completely. The rifugio is located around 20-30 minutes by foot from the nearest parking lot, so we had to either walk in the snow along a snowshoe track, or do cross-country skiing in order to get to the hut. But this ended up being part of the charm :) The location is great for all types of outdoor winter activities: alpine skiing in Via Lattea ski area, cross-country skiing outside the rifugio entrance, snowshoeing, randonnée etc. One of the days we did a 1,5 hour snowshoe walk to the next rifugio in the Troncea Valley and had lunch. Very beautiful experience. I will definitely try to come back here again in both winter and summer! Thanks Pierluigi for a great stay!

We had an issue or two further up the valley and chanced upon this Albergo by luck and with a little help from a work colleague. Bingo, what luck we had too. Excellent reception by very welcoming brothers Franco and Antonio and their staff, I cannot thank them enough for their warmth and generosity during our week long use of the facilities that they made available to us and dining there was a treat. Simple but delicious food in ample proportions, second helping too if greedy and all served with a smile and a chat (with some difficulty as we can do English, Spanish and some French), they spoke Italian (obviously) and Italglish. Great fun, very enjoyable and most of all recommendable.
