Very simple room, clean but few frills. Nice view from the window looking towards the village (2 min walk away). Didn't actually eat at the hotel (not even breakfast) - went to bar in village for some supper. Plenty of parking.

Eigón is a new concept of accommodation. A large house designed for those who seek something more than a simple room. We have just built a new building and we have filled it with excitement of everything you need so you can live a unique experience. A house that respects traditional architecture, which uses renewable energy and in which its interior hides a personal design based on noble materials, such as stone or wood, wanting to convey a rustic and mountain feeling.
Hotel Eigon was definitely the best hotel we stayed at during our recent northern Spain vacation. Great location, friendly and informative hosts, convivial atmosphere, delicious food, very eco-conscious…the list goes on and on. Innkeepers Fanie and Luis have done a beautiful job on the hotel design. The rooms are stylish while the communal areas encourage guest interactions. Although there are other dining options in Posada de Valeon, we ended up eating both nights at the hotel. We shared our meals with new friends met during our stay. The food was wonderful and there was also a delicious daily special (the white asparagus soup was memorable). Don’t miss the cheese plate featuring blue cheese from the cheese maker just down the road. With regard to location, if you’re planning to do the Cares River hike from the Cain end, stay here and not in Potes. Trying to make the long, narrow drive back to Potes in the dark after a post-hike beer is positively suicidal. This hotel is located a short, albeit twisty, drive from Cain and there are also several other Picos hikes that start literally from your doorstep. Innkeeper Luis is quite helpful in planning Picos day trips. Safe travels and enjoy the hotel!

The hotel is located in the Valdeón Valley, on a farm on the outskirts of Posada de Valdeón (León), surrounded by the mountains of the Park National of the Picos de Europa and on the banks of the river Cares. An ideal place to relax and enjoy nature with 8 rooms and 6 wooden cabins. To ensure your rest we do not have of television neither in the rooms nor in the common areas. The wood cabins do have TV. In addition, in the nearby town of Soto de Valdeón, we have your provision two rural houses for six people each. From our hotel you can access the impressive gorge by where the Cares River Route runs as well as numerous roads low or high mountain hiking and climbing activities. You can also stroll through the different villages of the valley to observe its granaries and traditional architecture. In our house we will inform you of any route or climb you want. It will be a pleasure to welcome you. We speak English.
Had a nice view of the mountains from the room, Room was not large but was clean. No A/C and no screens in window so beware in summer. It surprisingly had a pool, which I think was fed from a stream, because the temperature was quite bracing. Felt great on your feet after a day of hiking, though. Breakfast was the usual pieces of toast, jam, cheese and meats which is prevalent in the area but not to my tastes. On our second day there, when they realized we were vegetarians, they did bring us cereal. Wish I had known that on the first day.

The Cares Camping is situated in "Picos de Europa" in a little village called Santa Marina, Valdeon Valley in the province of Leon. It is surrounded by mountains and lots of water which runs down them, a lot of flora which depending on the time of the year gives the environment a different character. There is also a great variety of fauna. For all this, the geographical characteristics of the area and for many other secrets that can be unveiled in different part of the natural park, those who visit the camping enjoy a magical connection with the environment. The gastronomy, the charm of the villages and the great amount of activities which can be enjoyed, will make you come closer to heaven.
Gorgeous scenery, quiet, clean facilities, wonderful shower!! We ate at the restaurant both nights we camped and the food was FABULOUS!! We had fun joking with the waitress and the cooks. The bread and croissants we ordered for breakfast were also delicious. The staff checking us in was very helpful and friendly.

Lovely local place, excellent rooms, very friendly and helpful but limited English so brush up on basic Spanish. Typical Spanish breakfast of juice, coffee, bread & jam/cake, choice of good Spanish dishes in evening. Lovely traditional small village to stay in, hostal bar/restaurant gets regular local patronage. Modern, clean, fresh and comfortable room with plenty of space and views of surrounding mountains. Plenty of adjacent parking. Very good value.

The spot is amazing, everything you need to leave bad thoughts behind. (no wifi :-)) You are here for the environment and walking, nothing else. Don'tknow many hotels at spots like this. Rooms are very simple, ok, bed a bit hard. Minus is there is a lot of noise when people are walking down the hall, evening and in te morning. (heavy boot on wooden floors and stairs) The only bad thing is the restaurant where you have to eat. Breakfast is ok, dinner is quite tasteless and dreary.

Vamos nada recomendable.
