A perfect stay - in between Lake Garda and Bologna
Reviewed By mmorasWe have been very lucky to find this marvellous place. A gorgeous appartement for our family, a newly restored 16th century estate, perfectly decorated in every detail. Delicious candle-light dinners in the court’s arcade, with a high level regional cuisine, topped with well-sought flavours. Super-kind hosts, Giulia and Giuseppe, have a sense to combine local tradition with elegance. We used Corte Mantovanella for a relaxing trip to nearby Lake Garda. The court’s central location in the centre of the Val Padana can be used also as base for visiting most Northern Italian cities: Verona, Venice, Ravenna, Ferrara or Bologna. And don’t miss Mantova which truly is worth a visit! Excellent quality/price ratio!

Hotel Abacus is an elegant four star hotel, in the nearby of Mantua, but just 30 minutes far from Verona and the Garda Lake. Its quiet position , out of the city traffic, guarantees to our guests relax and privacy. Our buffet international breakfast with local products and homemade cakes is served in an apposite light room, during the summer also in the terrace. The hotel has a private, viedeoguarded and assured parking. Our meeting room can host till 30 people. All rooms have air conditioning system, minibar, courtesy line, soft sponges and elegant sheets. In deluxe rooms there is a relax corner with a sofa and a boiler for tea, coffee or infusions. We are waiting for you!

Reviewed By Bale3000We stayed at the Fenilnovo to celebrate my mother's 70th birthday and they did really go the extra mile as they helped us to surprise her by cooperating in the organisation of the surprise. Nadia was extremely helpful and gave us all the advises needed. The Agriturismo is just off the walls of Mantova and therefore a quiet and handy location to visit the town as well (10mn by car). The rooms are elegantly furbished, spacious and very clean.

So close and yet so far
Reviewed By Boomer SPerhaps a nice option for those looking for an inexpensive, basic hotel a short drive from the very picturesque town of Mantova. Intrepid walkers could probably make the hike along the fairly busy highway, otherwise take the 15 minute drive or roughly 17 Euro taxi ride from town to this hotel smack in the middle of the equivalent of the Italian strip mall. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful (the night clerk offered and made me a wonderful espresso as I waited for my 4:00am taxi to the Verona Airport); rooms are adequate if all you want is a place to leave your stuff and a place to come back to sleep. Next time I would pay more for a place right in town (Broletto looked ideal close to the main piazza) but Ducale was fine for what I paid.

Just 10 minutes from Mantua, the Corte Casone is an ancient renovated farmhouse situated in the heart of the natural reserve "Parco del Mincio". You can make trips and excursions on foot or by bike because the Corte Casone has nearly access to the nearby bicycle track that links Mantua to the Garda lake. All our rooms are provided with private bathrooms amd air conditioning.

Excellent quality/price ratio. Incredible honest prices: one example the vending machine with cold mineral water for 40 cents do not forget to check the tourist info and tips provided by the landlady in very well organized binders

Reviewed By bonne_voyage24Stayed here as we attended a wedding at Villa di Bagno and it is probably the only place walkable in heels! The place was okay, it was clean, and the lady at reception was friendly and helpful - albeit she didn't speak English. A proper coffee machine meant good coffee at breakfast - that there was no cooked food wasn't a huge surprise, but I did miss a toaster and some bread which would have been easy enough to provide. On the negatives, the heating in the room didn't work, and the shower was a standalone unit that I kept bumping into the sides of (and I'm not very big). Next time for a wedding, I'd watch the alcohol, rent a car, and stay somewhere better in Mantova - a 10min drive down the road (the taxi ride there for dinner was €20 and we couldn't get one at all to return at 11pm - the company just didn't pick up. We had to get other wedding guests to drive us). Car hire for 2 days is cheaper than the train plus taxis from the station. Definitely rent a car.
