What a gem of a hotel. The location is primo and its majestic structure is the icon of the city. Directly on the Rambla the location is the best you can get. Our superior room was roomy and comfortable overlooking the bay, which with the chilly windy winter weather was the best place to be. Except for Lorene the massage therapist (I went twice) and the adjoining well heated salt water pool. This was the truest highlight for both of us. The breakfast buffet was quite good and the service excellent throughout the property.

I stayed here with my wife. Whilst the location was convenient for the beach and local restaurants etc. we found the hotel very basic and dated. We also had problems with the shower in our room and when I raised this we were told that we must not have been using it correctly….. I insisted there was a problem which proved to be correct and it was then subsequently repaired more or less.…Maria was accommodating and did allow us to check in early which was of great help to us, although we were told this would be impossible at first by her colleague. We did enjoy the breakfasts and the location was ideal but the accommodation was a little tired.

My wife and I stayed here in early feb the location is the best right on the Rambla and beach Staff was friendly and helpfull rooms small but clean and modern. Sea view is highly recommended - sitting on the balcony listening to the sea, watching the people walk by and drinking our Mate tea was so relaxing Standard Uruguayan continental breakfast

In the Dunas del Este You have everything, gorgeous duplex fully equipped, 100 meters from the beach in a spectacular setting surrounded by forest and in direct contact with nature, with heated pool and spa temperature available.
Pet friendly -a very important thing for us- we stayed there for a week. Comfortable place, a very good breakfast full of home made cake, biscuits, muffings... a wonderful start for the day. If you want to have lunch, you have options that are brought to your bungalow, good fish, salads, pasta. Good place to relax, with silence and good energy. Very well maintained pool and Jacuzzi, if you want to go to the basics and relax without luxuries and with good service, this is a good option. We found Wi-Fi coverage was not very good, you have to walk around your bungalow (or around the open place) to find signal with good strength. We would come back to enjoy the peacefulness and great breakfast!

We spent six weeks here at the Hotel Ricadi and found not one thing to complain about. If we did have a problem, the helpful friendly people were ready with an answer. Not speaking Spanish was not a problem. The manager even lent us his personal scale to weigh our luggage. Breakfast was fresh and delicious every morning, as was the coffee, and plenty of it. Nice pool and jacuzzi. We had a long range antenna and were able to have the internet in our room, but preferred just to get out to the lovely common areas for a change. Wonderful experience!

3 Star hosteria, with hotel service. Located in the Central Rambla of Piriapolis, beach front. Rooms with balcony with view to the sea and wide common spaces for leisure time, both indoors and outdoors. Free parking is available.
This hotel was ok. I felt that its overpriced for what the hotel is. Our room was very small even though it had a balcony. I believe the balcony was bigger than the room and toilet. Toilet was very old and shower had some old stains of mold. If you want a 2 star hotel this is it.

Hotel Bakira is located at the boulevard of Piriápolis. The hotel is modest, reasonably maintained, non-smoking and has a lift. From the balcony there is traffic noise from the rambla. Staffs are friendly. We came on a Saturday in November and the towns was busy. Young Uruguayans paraded their pushed-up second-hand cars, loaded with a loud ghetto blaster, by driving back & forth over the boulevard of Piriápolis. The noise lasted till early morning. During the week in off-season Piriápolis appears to be quiet. Our room was basic, outdated furnished and with an OK doublebed. The room had a TV on the wall, tea & coffen, toilet, bidet and shower. All was clean. The balcony has a side view of the beach and the rambla. There is a small restaurant, a bar, a lounge & terrace at the top-floor, a simple fitness room and a stuffy indoor pool. Complimentary Wi-Fi Internet and an average continental breakfast served in an outdated ball room at the top-floor. Following Covid-19 regulations the breakfast is in three shifts and has to be reserved. If you like a modest, yet well equipped, hotel and you can stand the rambla traffic noise on Saturday nights, Bakira is the place for you. Otherwise go elsewhere.

¨ Nice Weather all year long ¨
In 1892 entrepreneur Francisco Piriá bought 2,700 hectares of land which he planted with trees, olive groves, pine trees & tobacco. In 1897 he built his home, the Castillo de Piriá. A year later his plantations were destroyed by locusts. In 1898 he undertook a trip to Europe, from which his inspiration for the tourist use of the Uruguayan coast derived. In 1905 he built the first Grand Hotel, the hotel Piriápolis, next door. Five years later a promenade modelled on the French Riviera was built. In 1912 he began the auction of plots of land in Piriápolis, after which the town began to grow. In 1930 Piriá inaugurated this second Grand Hotel modelled like the great hotels of the Côte d'Azur. At the huge cost of 5 million pesos the luxury Argentino hotel was realised. Piriá brought lingerie from Italy, fine tableware from Germany, glassware from Czechoslovakia and Thonet furniture from Austria. The Argentino hotel has 6 floors, a front of 120m and was conceived for 1,200 guests. In the interbellum the Argentino hotel was one of the most luxury hotels in the world. The ground floor hosted a large restaurant and thalassotherapy facilities. At present the Argentino Hotel & Casino is a shadow of its former grandeur. Today Piriápolis hosts middle-class Uruguayans and few tourists. In South America the place for the rich & famous now has been taken over by Cabo del Este. The Argentino hotel is charming but it loses the fights against decay. Many rooms are closed. In off-season the hotel only opens at weekends. We had a enchanting double room at the first floor. We felt like being in a 19-fourties movie. The spacious entrance room had twin beds, a wardrobe, and a renovated bathroom with washbasin, toilet, bidet and shower. The large second room had a very good double bed, parquet, desk and stairs, a walk-in dressing, and Thonet furniture from the late 19-twenties. The window-door opens to the enormous first floor balcony that has a magnific view. Complimentary bathrobes and free Wi-Fi Internet. We enjoyed the heated baths and the nice garden. A simple continental breakfast is served at the restaurant. The atmosphere in the Argentino hotel is of a forgotten era. We had a nice stay. Highly recommended.

Apart hotel with independent apartments for 2, 4 or 5 persons, all decorated differently with tasteful details that you will surely appreciate. We are located on the Atlantic coast, just a block away from the beautiful and wild beach of Punta Colorada, in a quiet area, but at the same time very close from the most important towns of Uruguay. We are just a 5 minute car ride away from Piriapolis, 20 minutes from Punta del Este and only an hour and a half from Montevideo. Come relax and enjoy Uruguay Natural.
We had a lovely time in the bonita suites! Wonderful staff, very clean and properly arranged. Breakfast is home made and delicious! Rooms are very clean and spacious and everything looks brand new. Pool could be heated but it was ok

This place is not what it appears through booking sites. The pool is basically a kids pool or a plunge pool at best. Wifi is poor. The breakfast was one of the poorest we had in South America. Finally the bedroom ceiling had mould where rain had obviously penetrated at sometime and without the air conditioning on permanently you would not of been able to sleep in the room because of the musky smell. Go to Punte better hotels at better prices than the many poor offerings in Piriapolis.
