We first visited Villa le Barone six years ago, and we enjoyed it so much that when we booked a cruise leaving out of Rome this year we decided to come early and spend a few days in Tuscany. You always wonder if the luster of a great first visit will wear off and if the experience will be just as good the next time around. There was nothing to worry about! The hotel was as beautiful as we remembered it (even nicer!) and the on-site restaurant continues to delight with a tasty variety of Tuscan specialties. Some of the staff was still there and remembered us, which made the visit all the more welcoming. Villa le Barone is a special place with so much to do and see nearby. We are now looking forward to our next visit!

This is a fantastic location to use as a base to discover Tuscany. The staff were super friendly and spoke excellent English. It is an amazing old villa decorated with beautiful antiques. The rooms were large and clean and bed very comfortable The area is very peaceful and it is a short walk to Panzano (albeit) on the busy road. There are a few shops and bars there however, the hotel’s own restaurant is terrific. Food and wine are excellent. The swimming pool was refreshing and the view from there and the terrace, stunning. The only issue we had, and this won’t be an issue for most, the parking area is not at the front like the google streetview photo shows. It is at the back and very dusty for those fussy about their cars. We still highly recommend this hotel though.

The accomodation comprises 5 double rooms (can all be rented separately) for 80 euro/night with their own bathrooms. In the morning we will give you a special "Good morning"with our home made cake and fresh bread ! we must not forget one aspect for wich our wonderful Toscana is world-famous- la cucina! You can take part in a cookery-course! us,wich is guarantee
The room was ok, as we have seen around and as per usual quality around. BUT the price was SO HIGH that we were expecting something better. The room was ok, but without a TV and a proper Air Conditioned. The room was VERY HOT, the AC was not working and sleeping was almost impossible. Not acceptable at all the Huge temperature we suffered. I don't think the service was worthy and I don't recommend It.

My husband and I love Villa Rosa and have returned there for many years. We stay in one of the rooms with the large terrace overlooking the valley -- what a view! The nearby little town of Panzano is great and has a couple of good restaurants. Many wineries are within easy driving distance and it is fun touring them and doing wine tastings. We were there about 3 years ago and they cooked and served dinner at the villa. Also they had a good selection of several wines. The dinner and wine were extra, but it was great because there are not so many restaurants in the area and the roads are dark and curvy if you have a couple glasses of wine. It was just so relaxing to have dinner outdoors under the loggia among the flowers, rosemary and olives. Maybe they will start serving dinner again -- probably suspended this service due to the pandemic. The breakfast is lovely. The rooms are comfortable and spacious. The setting is just wonderful. If you go in the summer, there is a beautiful pool as well. I don't think you'll find a more enchanting location for your visit to Chianti Country.

Far away from the city and seduced by la dolce vita, our guests can immerse themselves in nature yet enjoy the hotel’s central position to make the most of the picturesque hamlet’s vibrant atmosphere. Soft colours, relaxed lines and linear furnishing characterize the rooms: each room uniquely depicts one of Bocaccio's love stories in a harmonious interplay of colours and graphic elements. Filled with rosemary bushes, roses and jasmine, the garden is a bucolic framework for the sensual Boccaccian life. The garden extends into the internal courtyard, where breakfast is served each morning. A stroll along a maze of stone paths leads to an open area containing the swimming pool for a dip among olive trees and lavender flowers.
The Hotel Sangiovese was set "on the corner of the tiny square of this small, unspoilt Tuscan town stands Anne-Marie and Ueli Bleuler-Staerkle’s hotel; from the back it commands a ‘tremendous view of distant hills and mountains’. (or so a review once read. Then in 2019 it was sold to the growing empire of Villa Vignamaggio, the historic villa set in ancient vineyard a few miles outside of Greve. In addition to this hotel, they also acquired a few other properties in the area, but in terms of affordability, the hotel, now known as La Pensione di Vignamaggio is the most reasonably priced. Understand that this is perhaps more than five miles away from the villa, set on a tiny piazza in the nearby town of Panzano, famous for its market on Sundays and the butcher shop of Dario Cecchini and more. The hotel rooms are nicely appointed, having been repainted and refurbished when the new team assumed ownership. Service is capable and friendly, and the location is ideal for walking to any of the nearby restaurants and shops, or for immediate access to the SS222, Chiantistrada, to Siena and other Tuscan towns. (N.B. although this review claims my travel was Oct. 2020, that is incorrect, but Tripadvisor only provides a dropdown menu that fails to show any earlier dates.)

One of the most famous landscapes in the world, celebrated by painters and poets, can be seen in the expanses of olive trees, in the rows of vineyards, in the hills crowned by cypresses, in the gentle hills. In the Renaissance, Chianti saw a revival of houses , farms, no longer surrounded by crenellated walls but by parks and gardens. It is in this revival of country houses that the central nucleus of Il Casello Country house is born. Back to revive with the original vaults of pebbles, the terracotta arches, the ancient portals, the characteristic dovecote. The "il Casello" is the real original Chianti country hamlet, consisting of three buildings separated by a farmyard paved with the local rock used today as a panoramic terrace. The farm is located on a hill overlooking the Vignamaggio valley, and from the rooms or on the terrace you can easily reconcile the rest, with reading, the tasting of refined meals and fine wines, with the contemplation of a unique landscape.
We have made a reservation for Superior-Zimmer for 4 Adults with view into the landscape (25 sqm). We got a room with a double bed and a foldbale bunk bed for children in which the other two adultes had to sleep. The matress lies on the ground. So two of us were not able to sleep. The "view" was through a 1 sqm window and a hedge to the parkground, from the bathroom we could see the 3 Meter removed breakfast-terrace, so we have had the window closed. So the room was dark and uncomfortable We complained this at our arrival and the female recetionist told us that we dont have any rights for our reserved room because we have just booked one night in her hotel. She offered us also to cancel our stay and look for another hotel in the region, but she told us also that we will not have any chance to get another hotel becauce all hotels in the region were fully book. After a long discussion with her and the hotelier by phone they offered us a reduction of 70 Euro, but this was no reduction because it was just the difference between the price of our booked room and the much worse room we´ve got. That´s s pity becauce the hotel has a nice location, ,but this is no advantage if the room is horrible und dark We have been travelling more than 30 years twice time a year but we have made an experience with such an arrogant, cheeky and outrageous hotelier before.

Fagiolari is a bed & breakfast in an 800 year-old, beautifully restored country house, surrounded by it's own olive trees, vineyard and forest. It's in the heart of Tuscany near many other small villages and towns such as Volpaia, Lamole, Greve, Radda and Castellina. Day trips to Siena, Volterra, San Gimignano and Florence can easily be made from Fagiolari. It is the ideal place to spend a couple of days in total relax at the pool, walking or cycling around its breathtaking countryside.
This was our second stay with Anna at B&B Fagiolari and we already can't wait to visit again! This time we chose to stay in the little cottage on the property which was lovely - it really felt like we had our own little place right in Chianti! We took a cooking class with Anna (again!) and both agreed it was probably the best meal of our trip! In each of the cooking classes we've done with her, Anna has asked our food preferences and if there are any particular dishes we'd like to learn - the recipes are always simple and full of fresh, local ingredients! Since out last trip Anna has come out with her own cookbook, so we were given a copy and we've re-created all the recipes we've learned with her (any others!) over and over since our trip! We can't wait to go back and visit Anna again! (Which is actually what reminded me to finally write this review - I'm about to email her about dates for our next trip!)

The estate "Panzanello" is located in a strategic and beautiful position, along the hills of Greve in Chianti, between Florence and Siena. It is the hear of Chianti Classico, the region that produces the most well know wine of the all of Italy. The "Panzanello" estate is 300 acres, where there are olive trees, wine grapes and woods. In the Tenuta there is also the old villa which is still owned by the some people for years, the new cellar and in this some constructions we have a welcoming room for wine testing and beautiful terraces where you can admire the landscape of the hills where the nature leaves you astonished.
We spent four nights at the property and had a wonderful time. It is a good base for us to explore the region. The proprietors Ioletta and Andy are just lovely and accommodating. We took the ground floor apartment which comes with a terrace which is perfect to soak up the expansive sights and with some vino (plus cigarettes in our case) The apartment’s facilities are adequate. There is hot water, AC, kitchenette, more than ample seating in the lounge... We would also recommend having their in-house wine tasting... Wonderful Experience We had an unfortunate blackout one evening due to poor weather but I guess that makes it memorable
