Staff were friendly, hotel was located in an area that was industrial but quiet. The room was clean and the bed was soft. We had a good sleep. Hotel was busy but not rammed like the one we stayed at the previous night.

We are a Georgian Country House Hotel set in mature parkland yet within easy access of a major road.We have 11 bedrooms in the hotel as well as a cottage that sleeps four in close proximity. Each room is individual with all the quirky details you often find with a family owned and run property.A log fire welcomes you in the winter months and this is equalled by our fantastic terrace and gardens in the summer. We are open to non residents and have a great local reputation and following for our food.Whether a special occasion or a mid week bite to eat we can offer what you need.We have been at the Sweeeney Hall as a family for 20 years now and love what we have to offer with its history and warm atmoshere and unique character.
The hotel is in beautiful surroundings with really tasteful and elegant interior decor…. Kudos to whoever picked/designed that. The staff were friendly and helpful and I thought the prices were what you would expect We booked a meal in one of the pods, with the sun beating down it was a little warm but we were offered alternatives, we stuck it out knowing that once the sun went down in would be cooler. The lights and the cosiness of the pods added to our experience. One slight grumble (not worth knocking a star off for) was that this was a special anniversary meal for us and we had a playlist to play on the Bluetooth speaker for the pod - but none could be found :-(. But as far as service, value, setting and professionalism- no criticism at all. Well run and a lovely experience. Thank you to all

We stayed here one one night. Greatly exceeded expectations. We had a lovely room, much larger and better than we expected, thank you. Service could not be faulted. The swimming pool was open until late which meant we could enjoy it before going to dinner. Would definitely come back.

Arrived very late at night, carpark badly signposted no lightning to see car park layout or where disabled spaces were and no external lighting to help you see where you were walking. Very very basic and as virtually same price as Premium Inn you are better off staying in Premium Inn

We had a very enjoyable four nights courtesy of Charlotte, Tommy and their staff. Nothing was too much trouble - the rooms were really comfy and nicely appointed, and ours (The Coach House) had a terrific view down the valley. The hotel has a very peaceful position, nestled into the hillside, and the garden is a treat as well. Breakfast and dinners were very good, and we enjoyed the complimentary chocolate brownies provided. All the staff were helpful and attentive, and a special mention to Wendy who really went out of her way to make us feel welcome. We'd absolutely go again.

With a small group of friends, we stayed at The Laurels at the end of a walk foreshortened by, and in the difficult context of Covid restrictions. We felt completely safe,The Laurels was well-organised, spotlessly clean, and the breakfast great. Our hosts provided huge support, booking additional accommodation, meals, taxis etc. Thank you.

So I arrived yesterday then to be told I’ve be put a in different suite. Would of been nice to ring me before hand So I rang Jo the owner and told her I booked the elm suite not the cedar suite. Her response was I’m really sorry it’s still a lovely room but somebody has booked the elm suite for 3 nights if you want I can refund you. When I have just drove nearly four hours to stay there. With being it was a valentines weekend everywhere else was fully booked so then I asked politely can you do a complimentary breakfast for the hick up she told me don’t take advantage you know it’s a lovely room and said to me it’s becoming complicated don’t use nothing and just lock up I’ll refund you. Seriously nice way to welcome your guests Jo. So then we ordered a take away but there was only one bowl in the room I asked if there was anymore cutlery Jo then responded there is two folks . Seriously how rude! Worst of all the room had a double bed wasn’t even a king size paid the same money for a smaller room and a smaller bed nice one Jo !. All I can say the room was clean the bathroom was decent very large but the host made the experience awful if it wasn’t for it being Valentines weekend I would of slept else where as I believe she didn’t deserve my money with it the vile responses back ! I had the worst night sleep due to not having enough pillows and the bed being too small for me and my partner I wouldnt dare ask for an extra pillow would of be told you have two already probably. Never met such a rude host in my life I would never ever stay here again !

Nant Gloyw is a newish B&B establishment with 2 large rooms, a few minutes’ walk from the centre of Oswestry. The house has a strong emphasis on recycling and protection of the environment, which was very pleasing for us. We could not have found anywhere better, or better value, for our brief overnight stay. Our spacious ensuite room was attractively furnished, and overlooked the back garden - such a quiet room, just as we like it, with only the sound of the birds in the early morning! It included all the customary accoutrements and more (including an amazingly wide variety of teas). For breakfast, which is all vegetarian, as much as possible is home-produced, including the eggs, and we really enjoyed it. The husband-and-wife owners are very welcoming and helpful, happy to engage in conversation. The whole place gave us a very positive vibe, and we’d love to stay there again if ever we happen to be in the area.
