Charming small Colonial Style Hotel in the most beautiful valley of Costa Rica - "Orosi Valley" near Cartago in the Central Highlands; located in the center of Orosi village right next to the Thermal Pools Orosi. American or continental breakfasts are on the menu with fresh organic coffee roasted especially for Orosi Lodge. Enjoy a Cappuccino, Espresso, or Cafe au Lait with a piece of our famous homemade cakes.
We arrived at Orosi Lodge after a grueling 6 hour drive from Guanacaste and were greeted by Alejandra with fresh, cold lemonade and a warm welcome. She provided lots of detailed information on area attractions and restaurants. We had a chalet that sits on the hillside just above the lodge. Spacious, clean, 2 story unit with fully equipped kitchen. The bonus is the covered balcony that overlooks the town and distant mountains. It took no time at all for us to feel at home here. Very secure location. We strongly suggest you do not pass up the breakfast offered at the Lodge, best we've had here. The owners are gracious and accommodating. We only wish we stayed longer than 2 nights. Would definitely stay here again!

Classic hostel since 1997 with dorms and private rooms, guest kitchen, hammocks and great information book.
A varied day, from concrete San Jo, round the lava fields of high Irazu volcano, through Cartago, to green Orosi. Montana Linda was just the ticket: relax in the courtyard with randomly barking yet waggy doggies. The lady at reception has a kindly nature, but she seemed to just ghost off somewhere; no matter: gently left to feel home from home. I was the sole guest but for an Englishman who was halfway down his motorbike trip from Alaska to Tierra del Fuego: some interesting tales; and a French lady who was pleasant company for a village wander next morning. Dorm bed was comfy and the washrooms well kept. A refreshing interlude.

Small 4 room guest house with a beautiful view over town. All rooms with private bathrooms, hot water and a shared fully equipped guest kitchen.
I hate sharing a bathroom, and the hostel rooms were only big enough for the bed, zero floor space. So for $30 US per night I stayed down the street at the guest house while attending Montana Linda School for Spanish. The rooms are much larger, with private bathrooms, and shard kitchen and living room. 2 outside areas for seating. Very nice local woman does house keeping. 2 problems here, 1 cold water only in shower, it gets cool in Orosi, a warm shower would be great here. 2- the noise, dogs, and roosters all night long. This is a crazy noisy country. Nice garden.Beautiful mountain views.

Very warm and friendly welcome. Great location with a special Flair. Rustic, 1930 built, but in a good shape and the original touch. The owner is a bio scientist, knowing a lot about the surrounding nature. In addition she is a passionate cook you will enjoy a great time. The food is excellent, innovative, delicious and nicely presented. The rooms are clean and as it used to be in the old times. Definitely to recommend.

We are a small hotel located in the Orosi valley, surrounded by mountain ranges. With spectacular views of the flora and fauna of the country. We are only 8.5 km from the Tapanti National Park. In addition to very close areas where you will be in contact with nature.
We stayed at Hotel y Villas Orosi Valley for a week. It was perfect for us! It was the first place that we stayed in Costa Rica. The staff made us feel incredibly welcome and cared for. Celeste was happy to help us with each and every question and request that we had, and over the course of a week, we certainly had quite a few. She even helped to arrange a car and driver when we wanted to go to Volcano Irazu. The space in our villa was very nice. My teenage son enjoyed having his own room upstairs. We could see the smoking volcano of Turrialba in the distance from the balcony off his room. How cool is that? He also approved of the wifi and flat-screen TV. Downstairs was another bedroom, a bathroom, kitchenette, and dining area. The kitchenette was small and simple, but enough to make several yummy meals. Breakfast was included in the price of the stay. There were two choices each day: typical (coffee, fruit plate, juice, pinto gallo, sausage, toast, eggs, fried plantain) or americano (coffee, fruit plate, juice, pancakes, eggs, sausage). The food was very tasty and could be brought to your villa or served outside in the garden so you can watch the hummingbirds. Hotel y Villas Orosi has bicycles available for guests to use anytime, free of charge, complete with locks and helmets. We found the bikes to be in good repair and functioning well. Some of the bikes are 21 speed mountain bikes; the gears are great for the hills found a bit outside of the town. Other bikes are more of cruisers, with baskets, but no gears. All the frames seem to be about the same size, but with adjusting seats we were able to make them work for my six foot, two inch husband and my five foot, three inch self. The Orosi Valley is a really nice place to explore by bike, and when you are there, you'll see a lot of Ticos riding on the roads. Of note: this hotel seems to typically have Ticos as guests, rather than international tourists. We loved this because it made us feel like we were able to have a more authentic Costa Rican experience. With that though, most of the staff do not speak English. Don't let that stop you from staying here, though! Our Spanish is fairly rudimentary, and between it, translating apps, and gesturing, we were all able to communicate fine. We were able to book our stay by emailing directly through their Facebook page. We highly recommend Hotel y Villas Orosi Valley. The location and space are great and the staff are just wonderful. Breakfast and bicycles were much appreciated additional perks.

Stayed 1 night during a business trip. Hotel was nice and clear, with beautifully kept grounds. Ponds, rivers, pool were just some of the highlights of the hotel. But the hot springs pool was probably the best part. We did a night swim and it was amazing. We also eat dinner at the hotel restaurant. The food was delicious and service from the staff was great.
