Stayed there as a part of my workation (yes, they have robust wi-fi access). Nakamura has a great selection Japanese craft sake that are not available on normal distribution channel. Wondering how they could add them to their selection, I enjoyed the privilege of tasting hidden yet great sake while I was staying there. In a week, I gained weight because of their great Japanese style breakfast and dinner that comes with great sea food and sometimes with local beef or pork. yummy...

This is a quiet place on a hill, and most of rooms are grate sea view. It is good to stay calm and relaxed. We have large public bathes also with sea view. There is a staff who can speak English.
Located on a hill a 10 minute drive from the harbor, this place offers beautiful views from rooms and public bath. The reception area is a bit dated, but the room - of decent size and spotless clean - is kept well in shape, featuring a nice "bath unit" of modest size with quality toiletries. I loved the floor to ceiling window of our room! We saw only minimal staff, but interaction was friendly and efficient. Excellent price/value, would go again.

In front of the hotel is Tsurumaru Marina. Hotel ridge, sightseeing (resort) hotel of Seouki-Nishinoshima. All rooms offer panoramic views of the rich waters of the island of Oki. It is a transmission base of the Oki Resort where you can enjoy sea bathing, seafood dishes, etc. It consists of a main building, a cottage building and three buildings. There are also cafes and bar spaces in the dining area, so spend a great time on the oceanfront.
We travelled to Nishino-shima and Dogo Island this April, and tried our best to fit the schedule so that there are vacancy of two cabins at this hotel with waterfront location. Turns out we made good choices. Spacious with chance for kids to run around (also up and down - two storeys), sniff for the real sea slugs, starfish, jellyfish in the water.

Reso Oki Rosage is on the beautiful, quiet island of Nishinoshima. It's about a 15 minute drive from the main ferry terminal, so contact the hotel before arriving or take a taxi. Transport is extremely limited on the islands, and the hotel is in a fairly remote area, so you need to plan ahead. My room was large and comfortable. The main attraction was a spectacular view over the ocean. Breakfast and dinner are served in the main dining area, and are always delicious. The wifi was unreliable in the room, but ok in the lobby area. I also found it hard to get any mobile reception in the room, but that's part of being in such a remote area.

We stayed three nights on Chibu Island and we were very happy and well cared for at Chibu no Sato. While it was a little more that we usually spend on accommodation (a little over $200 CAD/night), it did also include both dinner and breakfast every day. And those meals were very generous and very delicious (I'll include some pictures). The lunch bentos (not included in the price of your stay) were yummy as well, and ready precisely when they have been ordered for. The staff did not speak much English but here is how they made up for that. The trip to Chibu was tricky and involved ferries with Japanese timetables. We managed to work that out on our own but to our surprise, Nicola (a woman working for the neighbouring island of Nishinoshima Island tourism board) met us at our first port and guided us to our second ferry while giving us tips and English tourist info and promising to call ahead to confirm our pick up on Chibu at Kurii Port. Nicola had been helping the hotel communicate with us via email. On the second ferry we met Katie (an American teaching English on Chibu) and Maria, a Japanese woman who also works for the tourist board. It seems the hotel staff reached out to as many English speakers as the could to ease our trip and stay on the island. At the hotel, the staff utilized technology on a tablet to help translate our communication and I though that was very conscientious. Our room was comfortable but I would have liked a Japanese style room to add to the aesthetic of our adventure. Unfortunately, one was not available. The room had heating/cooling and a balcony with a lovely view. It was a straightforward hotel room with a small ensuite (nice hot water) but we weren't there for the room! We also very much enjoyed the bath at Chibu no Sato. Unfortunately, we were there slightly too early to enjoy the outdoor bath but since the view from our room was magnificent, I am sure the bath's would be equally lovely. We hiked the island to view the sights and were entertained by all the wandering cows. We also enjoyed stopping at the small shops to pick up some treats to enjoy in the evening. The natural beauty of Chibu is well worth the visit (esp the Red Cliffs) and I encourage anyone visiting Japan to experience this breathtaking island. We did get a bit rained out and decided against ranging to Nishinoshima Island to explore but there was so much more I wanted to see! The Oki Islands Global Geopark is the place to be!

Set in Nishinoshima-cho, in a building dating from 2000, Guest House Darumaya features a garden and guestrooms with free WiFi. The property has a terrace, as well as a shared lounge. The accommodation offers a concierge service and luggage storage space for guests. All rooms in the guest house are fitted with a kettle. The shared bathroom is equipped with a shower and free toiletries. The rooms will provide guests with a microwave. A range of activities are offered in the area, such as cycling and hiking.
Great house and place. It could be wonderful.... Unfortunately the owner is not taking care of this place. He’s not at all available, air conditioning is not working any more, the place is quite dirty, it seems that it hasn’t been cleaned for weeks! The price is to high since it doesn’t offer what it should! It’s the first time in Japan (travelled 5 times to this country for long trips) that we find a place so dirty.
