Great Value Budget Hotel with Easy Train Access

Reviewed By GarysTribe

Great Budget Hotel 5 mins from Train STN We stayed here particularly as it was only a 2 minute walk from the train station and it is a recommended chain hotel. Arrival was punctual with a simple check in and we were in our room on the 9th floor within minutes. The only issue we had was our credit card didn't work but that's our issue not the hotel. The room as tiny but manageable with a comfy bed, clean bathroom and a slider for the window blind. Breakfast was the best so far in a budget chain hotel, better than AB hotels with fresh coffee, cereals, breads and pastries including the Japanese breakfast set. Recommendations For the price 6300 yen, great value and fully recommended #garystribe #letsguide #localguides #japan #japantour #travelblogger #travelideas

Great location, room, staff, breakfast

Reviewed By rasillon

Shizutetsu Hotel Prezio is three minutes from Numazu station, the room is twenty square meters, the staff is friendly and helpful, and breakfast is awesome. The room has a refrigerator, pot to heat water for tea, pants presser, two free bottles of water per day, and two tea bags per day. Next to the bathtub you have a spray hose, short chair, and a traditional ladle to rinse before entering the bathtub. The bathtub is deep, can produce onsen temperature water for deep relaxation, and the front desk has three different packets of minerals to make your onsen experience complete. The only downside we noticed is only a few channels of television but I didn’t come to Numazu to watch TV.

Reasonably priced and modern

Reviewed By ALim76

We were looking for a reasonably priced hotel in the overpriced Hakone/Gotemba region and settled for Numazu. Numazu is a town that is a convenient 20 minute drive away to Gotemba. The hotel is situated beside a convention center. There are not many restaurants or amenities nearby but there is a convenience store across the road in case you need to stock up on food or necessities. The hotel appeared quite new and modern. Rooms were adequate and comfortable. The lobby is on the second floor of the building and the staff were all friendly and able to converse well in English. We did not try the breakfast but I believe it cost about 1000 yen or so per person. It is on the ground floor restaurant. Parking costs about 1000 yen per day in the carpark behind the hotel. I would recommend this hotel if you are in Numazu. Ask for a room with a view of Mt Fuji!

The hotel is beautiful but looks old and outdated . But the room was nice with all the necessary features and things. Staff was also kind . But it’s inconvenient if you will come by train or bus . And also they charge for the parking extra we paying 1000 yen for one night car parking. So overall the hotel was good not so great and nothing much to do around the hotel ..

Simple hotel for a one night stay. Very confusing with the GPS. We passed the hotel 3 times till we finally got to it. There is another hotel with the same name, just in another town. Finally we got there . Parking was comfortable, staff was very friendly. Breakfast was OK. Room was a bit strange with the sink out of the bathroom. Was fine for a one night stay.

Penalty for replacement card key

Reviewed By rling_hk

The card key didn’t work at the 2nd time I re-entered my room on the arrival day. I was requested to pay 1,000 yen to get a replacement as there was a crack in the card! This is ridiculous as I’ve put the card securely in my wallet with my other cards and I have no idea why it’s broken. Yet I don’t think any decent hotel would penalise its guests for this type of issue though.

Tagore Harbor Hostel

Tagore Harbor Hostel sits right at the water’s edge in the heart of Heda. It boasts a chic interior and has all the comforts needed to relax after a day exploring the traditional port town. On the ground floor are the cafe/bar and a shared lounge. Here, you’ll usually find friendly locals alongside day-trippers and travellers. On the menu, there are an array of well-priced dishes, but the real draw is the great coffee and craft beer options. Upstairs you have a choice of dormitory-style accommodation and double-private and twin-private rooms. The dormitory has lockers for storing valuables and each bed is fitted with a reading light, a shelf, and a shut-out curtain to offer privacy. The private rooms are light, bright, and furnished to the highest quality. Every room has air-conditioning and guests have access to shared bathrooms supplied with essential-oil toiletries and organic toothpaste. Other facilities include a waterfront terrace; bike and fishing rod rental; a good selection of books and board games; maps of the local area; and strong WiFi. But, by far the most spectacular feature of this location is the stunning sea view. Guests can look out over the calm waters of Heda harbour, past the trees of the Mihama Peninsula, and on to the climbing peaks of the South Alps. Photographers grab your camera and head here for the most famous shot of Mt. Fuji. Many people may leave Japan with a photo of this famous mountain behind a lake, but you’ll have to come to West Izu to capture it beyond the ocean. The friendly staff at Tagore Harbor Hostel look forward to welcoming you.

A stylish place, incredible people and stunning scenery

A group of three of us visited Heda Port for the day and were blown away by the picturesque beauty and serenity of the place. The impressive contrast between the mountains and the ocean is a sight sure to clear anyone's cobwebs. For lunch we enjoyed a range of fresh delicious seafoods including many types of sashimi and cooked crab claws/legs for an extremely reasonable price. Afterwards, we had a brief stroll round the harbour and visited Tagore Harbor Hostel for a relaxing craft beer and to enjoy the tranquil harbour view. Tomohiro San and the other staff were the perfect hosts and gave us thoughtful advice for all the activities available in the area, including fishing, hiking and cycling. The craft beers available were rich and full flavoured for a great price and had we not been so full we would've eaten as the food looked lovely. The bar/cafe here are stylised and designed by Tomohiro San himself, and have a unique and chic feel. A truly wonderful place to sit, relax and enjoy the surroundings. We had a look at a room with a great sea view and will be going back in the future to stay (when we don't have to be at work the following day). We were lucky enough to see Mount Fuji over the ocean, a site never to be forgotten and the setting sun on the horizon was breathtaking, as sea birds skim over the calm waters to the backdrop of the iconic Japanese autumnal leaves. A Tori gate sits on the edges of the water and the the shrine is nestled amongst a peaceful wood of cedars. This truly is a wonderful town to visit for those looking to adventure further off the beat and track, a great place to soak up the fresh sea air, food and views. Any photographer's dream. Highly recommended.

It's acceptable

Reviewed By Luigi_Fino

This place is a really simple business hotel or ideal for really "just sleeping". I went with a friend and we had to leave early morning, so we did not take a breakfast (it was not included in the price). Besides, the receptionist kind of told us, that is was not worth the price. The rooms are of course simply furnished, but have a more modern touch than the classical Japanese business hotels in small cities and just a tiny bit better than those interiors who makes you really sad. Later I discovered there is a nicer hotel in Numazu city, so I'll try it the next time. Nothing to say against this hotel, although the price, compared to what they actually offer is a bit expensive. Internet is free and fast, which is good, but if I add the cost of parking+breakfast it is a bit overpriced. An advantage is the location, which is 3 min. by walk from the station. They have an Italian restaurant in the place too, but it was already closed when I arrived.

Typical Toyoko inn hotel, which means good price (for japanese standards), not so big, friendly staff, free japanese breakfast, clean and close to train station. I'm not sure how well the staff speaks english as my wife could speak in Japanese. There are restaurants near as well as some convenience shops.
