Having never been to Staithes we relied on previous reviews to decide where to stay and must say that they were all spot on. Great communication from Andrew, the owner, who pointed out local attractions before we had even arrived and it was great to receive a warm welcome on arrival. Super clean, comfortable bed and good views from the top floor made our stay perfect. Andrew is a passionate owner who is proud of his business and the local community and this becomes apparent from checking in and continues right through till leaving. The quality of the breakfast is superb with locally smoked kippers/salmon and really good fresh eggs. Many thanks for looking after us Andrew and we wish you every success with the museum and preserving the important history of such a wonderful village.

Raven Hall. A wonderful hotel.

I have been visiting Raven Hall for over 10 years. This hotel is a very special place. The grounds are beautiful. The views are stunning. It really is a place where you can feel completely detached from the 'hustle & bustle'. One aspect of Raven Hall that I don't think can be rivaled is the quality of the hotel's staff. Their 'Can Do!' attitude is genuinely inspiring & their 'Why Not!?' outlook is a truly enchanting quality that I have yet to experience in the hospitality industry. I would like to place on record my thanks to all members of the Raven Hall team. Sadly, on my last visit, it was common to see them being berated by rude, obnoxious guests. However, not once did I see a member of staff react in any other way than professional & decent. Since my first visit, the food & dining has been fantastic. However, after my latest visit, things appear to have changed. THE FOOD WAS ABSOLUTELY SENSATIONAL! The menu is vast. It caters for all tastes & the bar menu is equally exquisite. Alin is a member of the team that has been a constant since my first visit & it's always lovely to see him when I return. Ben runs the breakfast serving with due diligence & it's brilliant to see him calmly interact with his staff whilst in the midst of a challenging service. The breakfast buffet is ALWAYS a sight for sore eyes! Black pudding, Bacon, Sausage, Beans, beautifully sauteed mushrooms, eggs (fried, scrambled or poached) and, my absolute favourite.....FRIED BREAD! Raven Hall is a dog friendly hotel, so our 10 year old chocolate Labrador, Branston, is always made very welcome. He's been enjoying regular stays at the hotel since he was a puppy & is always grateful of a breakfast sausage or two. It always surprises me when I read reviews or hear guests complaining about the signal on their television sets. Or complaining about the quality of wi-fi. If you're wanting to book a hotel to sit in your room, watch tele & surf the web......need I say anymore? I simply cannot wait for my next visit to Raven Hall. Hats off to you guys, you're doing a fantastic job & thank you so much. Roy Shaw (Mr)

Sunday lunch stop in the beer garden

Stopped here for lunch after a visit round Staithes. Food was excellent, and we sat in the beer garden at the back, although dogs are allowed inside, we opted for the quite concrete beer garden/courtyard. Fish and chips - excellent as was the crab sandwich with chips. Washed down with good wine and cider. Sorted for a Sunday lunch.

Good and bad points

Reviewed By lorained904

Plus points - staff friendly and helpful Clean site Well maintained Minus points - people in caravans opposite having party (I presume they are residents) and we stupidly booked jubilee weekend, wanted quiet weekend away from madness of street parties. Had to ring and complain. Staff came and spoke to them but didn’t really make a difference. Selfish people. Kids running all over the place. The Mill was either fully booked or closed. Probably would return but would want different pitch.

Boked 4 nights at the Vane House apartment. Alan was a very nice man and very helpful. The property is modern, well decorated and has everything you could ask for in self catering. The apartment could be described as a little quirky but it works well and is very comfortable. Osmotherly is a bit quiet especially in the evening but is a very pretty village .I can definitely recommend a stay here.

Great stay at a beautiful location

Reviewed By 183rosieb

This is a fantastic place to stay for families or for a weekend exploring the North Yorkshire coast. Beds were comfortable and the facilities were immaculately clean. Staff are friendly and the breakfast was good. Our room was amazing with a superb timeless view over the bay. Only negatives were; had to go through 3 key swipe doors just to go to the toilet, metal bunk beds are incredibly squeaky, and I was made to pay for a kids breakfast when it should have been free with an adult full English. Otherwise highly recommended, makes me wonder why we live in a town!
