Hotel is good for what you pay and I would stay again. Rooms are big and clean with full size fridge, stove top, and microwave. AC gets COLD. Beds are ok, not great. There are clean gas BBQ pits in working condition. No pool or hot tub and no breakfast. There is a "mini mart" but only free item is coffee. Close to everything in New Braunfels.

We have stayed a few times at this hotel for several nights each time in March and April and overall we are pleased with it. The staff is friendly, the rooms are comfortable. The rooms are not as clean as they should be, mostly dusty and the floors are not properly cleaned. The beds are very comfortable. There is not a door between the bedroom area and the bath area, so if one person is dressing, anyone sleeping will have a bright light in their eyes and cannot continue sleeping. Breakfast is normal for a hotel with hot and cold offerings and the ladies who run it are very helpful and keep everything stocked and running smoothly. The location is good because the hotel is close to I-35, but not right on the highway, so it's quiet. There are several restaurants within a few hundred feet of the hotel in a nice, small retail area. There is a car charging area available. The area feels very safe and is well lit, there is ample parking. Someone ran a car into the pool back in February and the pool is STILL closed as no repairs have been made at all, even though the damage is minimal. We plan to try some of the other hotels in the area just to get a chance to cool off in their pools in the evening.

Built in 2001, Gruene River Inn is one of the newest accommodations in the New Braunfels and Gruene community. Located a quarter-of-a-mile from Gruene Hall, our Inn is not far from shopping, or dining at the Gristmill. On the banks of the Guadalupe River, the Gruene River Inn gives guests panoramic views that are unmatched in the area. Guests are welcome to fish or swim out back in the Guadalupe River.
I agree with all the other reviews that this hotel is very nice. It’s also quirky, kitschy, has lots of antique furniture, old timey photographs, several daybed nooks and a Christmas tree with Americana ornaments. It’s very clean and the living room is inviting with beautiful fresh flowers on the tables and a big screen tv. Everything you could need for the room is provided including a refrigerator and microwave. There is coffee available any time of the day and a afternoon snack was also available. The room balcony has a great view of the river. The staff is friendly. The pre-order breakfast is available for a small fee. And I appreciated the hazelnut coffee creamer provided! They have river towels (nice touch) and bags of ice if you want to fill up your cooler to spend a day on the river. There’s also a nice deck with lots of lounging areas. This hotel is within walking distance to downtown Gruene. It’s ok during the day - but a little tougher at night b/c there are no sidewalks so you have to walk close to the road. The only negative I can say is that there are a lot of stairs. We met one of the new owners whose group I believe will be updating this hotel. But because the hotel was built on stilts I’m not sure an elevator is a feasible addition. So I’m giving other TA readers a PSA…..If you’re young and in shape you’ll have no problems with the stairs. But if you’re older (60+) or have mobility limitations the stairs can be overwhelming. There is only one ADA room (San Antonio) on the lower level. All other rooms are on second level or in our case - we had to climb even more stairs to get to the Pecos room (which felt like Grandma’s attic). Ha! Best of luck to the new owners.

We planned on staying one night in a 2 bd room suite on Memorial Day on our way back to Dallas. We got to the room at 4:00 for check in and decided that We did not feel safe there and left. Door did not shut even while locked and could see light through it. The windows had warped blinds on them with no curtains. Rooms had no pictures on the walls and were white brick. Felt like we were walking into a cell. Bathroom grout was terrible and AC did not work well. Microwave did not work either. I have attached pictures. We are trying to get a refund.

Stay in the heart of Texas Hill Country at the Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, New Braunfels, TX. Destinations like the Guadalupe River and the Gruene Historic District give this area its charm, while modern corporations like GE, Tyson and Philips make it a convenient meeting point for business travelers. Families also enjoy local hits like the Schlitterbahn Waterpark and Natural Bridge Caverns.
The price for a nights stay here is too much for what you get. The location and the way it sits right off 35w, leads to a lot of road noise. It appears that this Country inn and suites is really trying but it falls short in many aspects. They did accommodate our request for room change because of highway noise. However in our second room there were a few things that just don’t match up with 175 price tag. 1. Filthy tile floors at entry. 2. Desk lamp with just a lightbulb, 3. water damage on window wall and trim hanging loose at floor level. 4. Banged up walls. 5. Pool water was cloudy as milk. The breakfast was standard fare. The cookies upon arrival were nice but that doesn’t make up for other issues.

I did early check in and only one of my rooms was available. When I returned I was told there weren’t any rooms available and I was put in a room without a river view next to a conference room. I’m paying for a river view. Front desk staff is horrible

This was an awful visit, our first room had drain, and when my husband went to the front desk he called the mosquitos to which the desk clerk replied "it's Texas, that's going to happen, you might get a mosquito or two in your room". After some further delineation, the staff agreed to move out room. But both rooms were dark & damp. The lightbulbs didn't match, and the plexiglass covers over the bathroom lights were yellow, which made it difficult to do make up. This was the most I've ever paid for a best western room and was by far the dirtiest. Once we moved to the second room, there was silverfish in the bathtub. I spent all of my points from previous stays to get one night free and my total was still $219. The rooms were $150 a night was there really $70 in fees? I'm washing my hands of best western after this experience.

We checked in late and found our room to be disgusting. There was urine at the base of the toilet (pic not included because it didn’t show), dusty and a pill on the floor that wasn’t ours. When we went to get our bags to check out, the maid wasn’t in the room but said “uh-oh”. We walked in and saw that the bed covers had been put on our stuff. Another maid apologized to us on our way out. Breakfast was ok, but guests were walking around barefoot and made it unappetizing. Hotel clerk didn’t refund any of our money except 4 water bottles because we booked through Expedia.

A friend of mine booked a hotel block for her wedding at the end of April. She originally had booked 10 rooms but was only needing 5 after talking with her guests so she called to cancel the remaining 5 rooms on April 7th. When she called to verify the rooms booked they didn't even reserve the rooms with our information. I had called to reserve a room and they didn't ask for any information other than my name. I assumed since it was a block of rooms that was how they handled it. When she called to cancel they did not have my name down for one of the rooms so she went ahead and put my family down. My husband and I checked in on FRIDAY NIGHT and got keys to the room. WE STAYED ALL NIGHT and left Saturday morning for the wedding, leaving our belongings in the room. When we returned Saturday night our room keys were cancelled out and we could not get in. My husband went back downstairs to get new room keys while I stayed in the hallway by the room. He came back up with a staff member who personally opened the room for us. The front desk told him they didn't even know we were staying with them and needed verification that we were actually staying there!! They had the cleaners come up to the room while we were gone and they stated someone had left their belongings in the room. They had ZERO record someone had checked into the hotel, given us keys, and had NO CLUE! When we went to check out Sunday morning we tried to pay for the room but said they went ahead and just charged the card on file (the brides) and we didn't need to worry about it. We asked if we could cancel her payment and pay for our room and they refused and said it was not possible. The only thing great they did was comp us for Friday night since they didn't know we were staying with them. Both the assistant manager and a front desk staff member said they messed up by not making the reservations correctly, the bride then was charged for the extra 5 rooms that she "did not cancel", and were willing to talk with her bank to get her money back. They admitted to their GM they messed up and the GM refuses to work with her. Needless to say this place has HORRIBLE management. The fact that they don't even have record of who is staying at the hotel is crazy to me. That is definitely not safe. I will not recommend this place for anyone.
