Old school charm
Reviewed By Fritillary1The White Horse has always been a beautiful place to stay but had got a bit tired in recent years, however, there has clearly been some new energy and investment put in. Our rooms had been recently refurbished - new paint, tiles, with comfortable beds and linen. Everything was immaculate. Staff were courteous and helpful and food in the dining room was execllent. So far the refurbishment has been sympathetic and the White Horse retains the best of its old school charm. The gardens are stunning and we had beautiful walks along the stream and surrounding hills.

Inn on the Vumba is 8km out of Mutare on the Bvumba road overlooking the Mozambique border. Caters for the businessmen , holidaymakers and specially families as it has 17 hotel rooms with bathroom en suite , 2 deluxe cottages sleep 4 and 2 self catering cottages , also sleep 4 in each . In close proximity to Leopard Rock Hotel and Golf course , Bvumba Botanical Gardens .
Quiet and serene place far from the noisy town
Reviewed By rebuildsThis hotel offers a great place for travellers who love the outdoors and nature walks. It is very quiet and in the morning your u can hear birds chirping as your wake up call. Monkeys also come to play so keep your windows locked

Exceptional staff & good value for money

Menu fairly basic/standard offerings of steak and chips, chicken and chips, curry etc but very tasty and great value. Close to the nice things to do eg. Tony coffee shop, Ziva, and botanical gardens etc. Also they offer activities and there's a waterfall in walking distance, so plenty to do on site. (Tiny suggestion for improvement....Reception/lounge area quite dark. If it was my place I would move the giant banner that blocks a lot of light, as does the creeper that now covers all the windows, and open up the wide stairs descending into the garden in front, so the view of the lovely forest is better. I would also plant some more trees on the big lawn area). We would go back, it exceeded our expectations.

Reviewed By Arnold BThe tourism hotspots in Manicaland are Nyanga and Vumba and Musangano is in neither of the two towns. That it stands as one of the top destinations shows just what a gem it is. The place is well maintained and surrounded by pristine forest. So thick are the bushes that each chalet feels like its faraway from everything. its like having civilisation in the middle of a wilderness. The place also has well paved footpaths that meander through the wooded hills on the property. Its a dream destination for jogging . We particularly enjoyed the rooms with their fireplaces. As we stayed there on a particularly freezing and misty weekend this was truly welcome. We also have nothing but praises for the staff who were friendly and went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. If you are tired and want a break in a quiet, peaceful and secluded paradise highly recommend Musangano.

Reviewed By Noma_OmhleCheck in was swift. Very careful to ensure Covid safety measures in place. The staff very friendly and alert. John the waiter was awesome. Paul the Housekeeping Executive was on point. Listened to my concerns and executed so well...thank you. The food was ok.. only concern was the beef and the bacon which was somewhat cold. Otherwise a comfortable stay.

Reviewed By nicoladP8428SSGordon's remains a favourite place for us to visit. Everyone at the bnb is helpful and they look after the guests so well. Breakfast is freshly cooked and the fluffy omelette is my favourite. The guest lounge is a new edition set in the now mature gardens and is great to sit and relax in. So pleased to have been able to come back to this wonderful place.

I enjoyed a perfect sunrise from my bedroom in the very cosy cottage. Amazing value for money, very inexpensive. Very comfortable furniture on the terrace to enjoy the view. Roger is delightfully sweet and truly engaged in the nature, having built up the place from scratch himself. I tremendously enjoyed his outstanding service with delivery of dinner and breakfast to my terrace. Delicious and plentiful food. Perfect place to relax, rewind and just be happy. Would love to come back.

Reviewed By Kudzai M. MSigh. This place used to be quite something. I had hoped after renovation it would be better. No real change besides tiling which is commendable. They now have room Wi-Fi albeit iffy. New TVs. But everything else still old. It will do for just a nights rest no frills for a budget traveller who needs a rest and a shower and power for devices. No more.
