Great little hotel in beautiful Mourão
Reviewed By carol bWe used the hotel as a base for exploring the Alqueva dam area. Friendly staff, clean and comfortable room. Good breakfast and well situated with a supermarket and lots of dining choices a short walk away. Great views of Mourão and Monsaraz castles from the pool and terraces area, plus secure parking in the hotel grounds.

Guest House in the Countryside
Reviewed By Jackson9305This guest house is located a few kilometres east of Mourao, and is a bit tricky to find (despite GPS) as you have to first drive into Mourao and then take a semi-paved road over the highway a few kilometres back. It took us a while to figure this out upon our arrival in the area. Due to the reigning health regulations things were pretty regimented concerning breakfast times and how it was served, as well as the lounge chairs by the pool. Breakfast was not really good; the bread was of not particularly good quality, but at least you could order scrambled eggs. The little wine and gift shop was dark and unappealing. We missed being able to communicate with the female staff in English, although the owner/manager was very friendly and helpful. Our room was a bit dark, although large. The pool was refreshing (read: not heated) and large enough to accommodate several guests at once. We simply were not overwhelmed by the premises and are sorry to say that we cannot recommend it. Bicycles are available to rent for €3/day, however the manager admitted that the few bike paths nearby are not well-maintained, and the highway is in our opinion not well-suited for casual cycling.

Reviewed By Reviewer317Absolutely beautiful place in a stunning location with a fantastic pool, surrounded by olive trees and farmland. We loved it here and will be back! The night sky is incredible due to there being no light pollution. The breakfasts were delicious and the owners were lovely.
