Avalon Manor Motels offers a range of affordable high quality accommodation, from spacious studio’s through to one & two bedroom apartments and two access units. We also have a guest laundry and a delightful garden with BBQ area. Its only a 5 minute walk to Motueka’s restaurants, supermarkets and shopping centre.
We booked direct and were confirmed with the motel well ahead of time in July 2021 for a two bedroom unit for 3 persons for a one night stay in January 2022. On arrival, the owner told us she had made a mistake and our 2 bedroom unit was now occupied and we were given a one bedroom unit. Sleeping arrangement was one bed in the lounge and one double bed in the bedroom. As it was a one night stay, we reluctantly stayed, without any concession from the owner in the form of an apology. So take heed that your requested booked accommodation may not be what you get. It was a hot night during our stay, and there is no air conditioning. One portable fan was provided in the bedroom, and no cooling for the lounge. Hence, a very restless night. Location was convenient, easy walking distance to restaurants and supermarket. We paid $225NZ for our stay.

We arrived very wet and muddy after a day of cycling in torrential rain. We were a group of 10 cyclists doing The Great Taste Trail. Our host was so friendly and helpful. He dried all our gear - jackets, cycle wear, gloves and shoes! He used a dehumidifier in his garage over night and even cleaned all the mud off our shoes. We were so grateful. We highly recommend staying at the Nautilus Motel.

If you are in the Nelson area stay at Motueka Top 10. Our unit had more facilities than more expensive motel units. Great bathroom with lovely hot water. Main area was roomy and beds were extra comfortable. Friendly service from staff.

Very friendly proprietor. Great welcome. My cabin was very clean and comfortable with a small toilet and shower but perfect for my short stay. Beautiful gardens and the only noise came from the birds. Great location to town. There was even a banana tree outside my room.

Absolutely horrified at the food that this place is putting out, to start with order a 1.25L drink an you'll get x2 cans @330mls, order burgers an they'll be soggy as with the chips that come with them sogger than a wet chip, garlic bread that was most definitely heated in a microwave an not even melted butter, an the chicken Snitzel is as hard as a gumboot to try eat the only good thing was the tiny colslaw that came with it an that was a $70 order. You'd think they would put a little more effort in.

We’ve stayed in this hotel for a couple of nights, the location is really nice and quiet. Just a short walk down to the beach. Bed was super comfy and the breakfast was just amazing, with fresh eggs and a few self made products on the side. Special hint - try the dinner option! You can reach many nice spots quite close to the location

A Vibrant hostel in beautiful Motueka we offer Dorms, private and single rooms, Free WIFI, All linen is provided. Fully equipped large kitchen, hot showers, plenty of off street parking.
The people who stayed at the Hostel made my time really good, but I cannot say the same from the owners. The facilities are always dirty, bathrooms, kitchen, especially rooms, I always vacuumed and did my bed by myself every week in the room and also put rubbish bag and fragance because they never doing them work. Everytime I ask for cleaning my room, I had to do it by myself. They don't know how to manage a hostel. They also don't allow people who stayed before in the accommodation to visit us after they left.
