Bob and Claude Mitrani welcome you at Right along the st James way, you will have the pleasure to enjoy a contemporary way of life beautifully set in a unique renaissance Architecture. We will be delighted to share with you our love for refinement and detail attention we applied to our previous occupation as fashion designers, when Claude was a famous “créatrice de mode”. As passionate as we both are of period architecture as well as interior design, we fell in love at the first sight of the Village of Montcuq and this exceptional House so sturdily tucked in the Village near the Charming “Mairie”. By the end of 2009, our new adventure would begin.
This small hotel really does deserve all the superlatives it's been given. We travel a lot and this boutique hotel is certainly one of the best places we have ever stayed. The hosts are charming, amiable and engaging, it's really like being house guests but certainly not over intrusive. The rooms are well thought out, comfortable and chic. Then there is breakfast, truly excellent. The home made brioche smothered in caramel sauce is to die for, accompanied by homemade jams, and delicious home grown fruits and well sourced yoghurt, fruit juice and pastries. If your in the area, treat yourself and go here.

This is a magnificent 18th century stone house, converted into a perfect hide-away, in the center of the village. The rooms are large, lovely, and quiet. The ensuite bathrooms are wonderful. The breakfasts are absolutely delicious. And the beautiful white stone terrace, luxuriantly planted and blessed with a far-away view of the green country side, has a jewel-like swimming pool as well. Brigitte and Pascal, and their charming daughter, are welcoming hosts. Allez-y, vous ne le regretterez pas.

I spent one night at this hotel while walking the Le Puy Camino. I would not recommend it to others. I arrived at the hôtel at approximately 4 pm to find no reception and the doors locked. Called my tour organizer and then saw the sign telling me to call a local French number. Spoke with the owner who gave me the code to the door and the room number. He also informed me that the restaurant and bar would open at 6:00 pm. I made my way to my room and found it clean and adequately appointed with a decent shower and large queen bed. With no other services or bars nearby and not looking forward to walking back into Montcuq given the 600 or 700 metres to the main square, I waited for the restaurant to open. Made my way there at 6:05 to the door which is outside the residential portion of the hotel and found the door locked. Rain started to fall and I kept trying the door until finally lights came on at 6:20. Rather wet and unimpressed, I did not respond with unbridled enthusiasm to the owner’s hello at which point he started yelling at me that today was his only day off and that he has a young child at home and how could I be so rude. I responded that given his attitude I did not feel comfortable eating at his restaurant even though I was staying on a demi-pension with dinner and breakfast included. I asked he could recommend another place for me to eat and he would not. He made no attempt to make me feel welcome and I was forced to walk back into the town in what was now a steady downpour to try to find something to eat. The next morning I spoke briefly with him to ensure my bag was in the proper place for the transporter. He barely lifted his head from his newspaper and made no attempt to offer me the breakfast to which I was entitled. So to prospective guests, practice your Bonjours and artificial smiles and be prepared for a hotelier in a sour mood.

Beautiful property with luxurious rooms in a peaceful and beautiful location. Tasty continental breakfast served on the patio overlooking the lovely garden and pool. The owner makes a huge effort to make visitors feel welcome. Despite its fairly isolated location the amenities of the attractive local town of Montcuq are only five minutes away by car.
