Casa Pineiro

A HOUSE WITH CHARM Casa Pineiro was built around 1900 in the heart of the Fraga del Eume, and is at the beginning of the 90s when Flor and Jan decided to rehabilitate the family home where she and his father had been born. A house built with the noblest materials of the earth: Galician slate and solid oak wood. Valuable materials that the architects Inaki Mendizabal and Ana Recuna knew how to take advantage with success, respecting the original structure, ingeniously sought a way to fill all the gaps in the shelter of natural light. Casa Pineiro offers to its guests all the comforts of modern life integrated in a rural environment. It consists of five double bedrooms, two of them with a loft that offers the option that the room is occupied by a third person; a cozy lounge with fireplace and comfortable sofas to read or chat with friends, occupies the space where once the cows lived and where is still maintained the waterhole of the cattle. In addition, the rural establishment has a kitchen with dining area, as was usual in the Galician village homes, fully modernized and with a gallery that communicates with the garden, where there is a barbeque area to the delight of its guests.

Casa Rural in the Wilderness

Reviewed By ndser

We stayed at the Casa Pineiro in Monfero for 1-night in early June (€75/night). A true casa rural, its old stone buildings back the road (don't worry about noise, there is almost no traffic) and face down a verdant green slope of fields & trees. The casa's location on the edge of the park is completely rural, with only a few equally old stone buildings anywhere nearby. Our top floor double comfort room was a bit small (as might be expected in a rural house of this age), but had wonderful period touches such as a stone accent wall and huge, rough-cut ceiling beams supporting the sloping, dark wood roof planks. It was furnished with a queen bed & side tables, small desk & chair, large bench, small wall-mounted TV, and a built-in closet – no safe, mini-refrigerator or coffee maker, though. There was also a tiny attic room up a set of very steep stairs, but the ceiling was so low it was suitable only for a child. The bathroom had a single sink vanity with lots of storage underneath and a nice shower. The grounds had a grassy area with a horreo & wood-fired barbecue, a couple of covered seating areas (for those rainy Galecian days), a couple of open air seating areas, and plenty of covered parking. There was a large common area on the ground floor with seats, magazines, a fireplace. The area around the casa was completely undeveloped and offered few services; the nearest restaurant we saw was at least a 15 min drive along narrow, steep and twisting roads. We dined at the hotel, a hearty meal of soup, salad, Spanish tacos, dessert. Breakfast was fairly basic but filling, toast, melon & watermelon, cold cuts & cheeses, cake, coffee & orange juice. Our hosts were friendly and helpful, despite their limited English & our poor Spanish. Overall, a quiet and peaceful stay in an atmospheric inn at a very reasonable price.

Casa Pineiro

Un Carnaval de 10!!

Reviewed By Srta-JAZZ

Casa Louran

Perfect for our Family in every way

Reviewed By PandaArms

Think we lucked out on our trip to Spain this year and Casa Louran pretty much represents why. This farm house has everything, animals, beautiful surroundings, amazing service and probably one of the best 'mini bars' you'll ever see - ie. They leave you with a stocked kitchen with an honesty form. The breakfast was astonishing - you sit in the kitchen whilst being cooked for using only local products. We absolutely loved our stay and will return next year.

Very pleasant mountain camping

Small and quiet camping on the edge of the beautiful Fragas do Eume park. We rented a spacious wooden bungalow. The pool is nice even though the water is not very warm. Olga and her staff are very kind and helpful. They gave us lots of nice advice for visiting the area and beyond.
