Past and present collide in Mojacar, where an old Moorish settlement overlooks a modern beach resort. The whitewashed puebla houses a 16th-century church, and maintains its strong cultural identity with traditional foods and annual religious festivals. On the waterfront, resorts thrum with seaside activity.

I rated it 4 out of 5 because I felt like the bedding was damp. I suppose it’s because you’re by the sea. Other than that I can’t fault it. The room had everything a woman needs, a long mirror, a magnifying mirror, a hairdryer by a mirror and a plug, a separate toilet, a bath, and all the accessories. The breakfast was very good lots of choices and very pleasant staff. Would definitely stay here again.

The staff at ALEGRIA Palacio Mojacar looks forward to serving you during your upcoming visit.
This was our first holiday abroad for approx 5 years so we were looking forward to it. We booked the Alegria Palacio because it was adults only and had some great reviews. I hope my review is realistic and honest. We arrived having hired a car in Almeria and was pleased that there was plenty of free parking at the hotel. The reception area was lovely and we were greeted with a glass of champagne. We had requested a high room with sea view and this was allocated on arrival. The room was spotlessly clean with 2 large beds pushed together to form a huge single. There was a fridge in the room but no other amenities such as kettle or iron. we were aware of this from other reviews. The room was a good size but a little dated in decor and flooring - however, how much time do you spend in the room? The bathroom was very nice although also required a little TLC in the decor department. We were in room 304 which had a problem with the air conditioning (dripping water on the floor) and whilst this was fixed it was obviously an ongoing issue as the ceiling was very warped and stained. In the week we were there the reception staff were lovely and helpful and answered all questions as well as providing a spare hairdryer when the one in the bathroom overheated. The pool area was lovely and well maintained. Soft music playing most of the time until the DJ decided we were all a bit lethargic and played his tunes to wake us all up one afternoon. There is no annoying animation team so very relaxing. My girlfriend did get bitten quite a bit from mosquitoes which we think were there because of the lake in next doors golf course. This isn't the hotels fault but bring your spray as we spent 20 euros on bug spray. The restaurant is faultless in my opinion. The food selection, presentation and service was second to none. My girlfriend has coeliac disease and is completely gluten intolerant. Every morning & night the maitre d or chef would walk her around the food islands and tell her what she could and couldn't eat. They provided her with bread and other items and she never felt she had been left out. The staff in the restaurant went above and beyond in their service and all deserve a special mention. We didn't spend too much time in the bar but it was a bit soulless and the staff, whilst efficient, were a little over eager to serve you a drink at your table rather than you go up to the bar. Evening entertainment was low key and adequate for an adults only hotel - with the usual singers and DJs performing on the lovely patio area outside the bar. We were glad we had a car as the hotel is quite a few km away from any nightlife in Mojacar. Its too far to walk to the main are of Mojacar and you either drive, take a taxi or the bus. We didnt see too many buses and I'm glad we didn't have the hassle of the walk up and down to the main road to get one. Word of advice - if you want to be in the thick of Mojacar this is not the hotel for you. If you want quality service and peace and quite I thoroughly recommend it. One advantage of the hotel is that it is nearer to Garrucha than Mojacar. Garrucha is a lovely Spanish town with cafe's restaurants and beaches and not touristy at all. You could walk there (couple of km) and we loved the laid back feel of the place. So in summary - please read all the reviews to make sure you understand where this hotel is situated, whether you want wild nightlife and manage your expectations. We had a wonderful stay and thank all the staff for making our week so lovely. Yes there were a few things but you can find fault anywhere if you try so I have no hesitation in recommending the Alegria Palacio for a lovely quiet adults only break.

The Hotel Best Mojacar is located in Mojacar, a few meters from a golf course and just in front of the sea. It’s an ideal hotel for families and couples who wish to enjoy an exceptional holiday.
Well, where do I start with the Best Mojacar hotel? It wouldn’t be fair to say it’s lousy, I am sure some people will love it, but we definitely won’t be coming back. It may well be that we came a bit too early in the season ( mid-May ) First impressions count for a lot and our first impression of this place was not good. After several hours of travelling and having no food available on the plane, our first port of call was going to be the hotel’s cafeteria/bar for a quick bite to eat. No such luck, they don’t serve food!! A cafeteria that doesn’t do food? (Unless you count a bag of crisps) …. It’s the first time I have ever come across this in all my travels. and I am in my 70s, so I have travelled a lot. So, we had to head out of the hotel to one of only two local beach bars … yep, you heard that right, just TWO local bars. The next bar is a kilometre up the road. The streets around the hotel are pretty deserted. This area is very very dead, you definitely need transport here, unless you like a good walk. Local buses are cheap and if you can figure out their timetable it’s probably the best way to go. All the trips I went on were just 1.20 euro. At first glance the hotel looks big and impressive, and our room was a good size with decent large beds. But after a while you begin to notice that everywhere is all just a bit run down and in need of some TLC. Our bedside lights were hanging off the wall, The lift to our floor had rusty doors touched up with silver spray paint.. The view from our room was good, looking out over the pool area and sea . Be aware…. There are NO air conditioning controls in the rooms. Management controls the cooling for you. So open the windows a bit at night or get roasted. Obviously the hotel will run the A/C as little as possible to save money. This is most definitely a Spanish hotel geared up for Spanish guests. Most of the staff struggle with English. BUT, If they want to attract English guests, which they do, by using Easyjet, then they need to start adapting to their new clientele. I don’t want fish & chips and a pint of Guinness. It Would also be handy if Easyjet had a rep’ that visited at least once a week to tell us what’s what in the area. Just someone to ask questions about the local buses, local attractions etc and some sensible dining times would be nice. The Spanish people tend to eat late and dinner here starts at 8.15pm. Too late for me, I don’t want to go to bed on a full stomach. We switched over to having lunch here and going out in the evening. We came here with Easyjet, and their advertising describes a hotel with a full programme of day and night entertainment ? . They do have some daytime and evening activity but it’s 100% Spanish.. I have no clue what is going on most of the time, they don’t seem to realise they have a good deal of English people here, nothing is translated or announced in English . Also, it doesn’t get going till almost 10pm, so no chance if sleeping much before midnight . We booked half board, I am glad we didn’t book full board because from what we could see when we switched from dinner to lunch, it seems dinner and lunch are very similar, today’s special was Pigs trotters . Breakfast was ok with a decent selection, although tea and coffee from vending machines is never good The pool area is very nice and there seems to be a poolside bar, but I never once saw it open while I was here. Bring your own Beach towels if you can. The hotel’s poolside towels are as thin as dishcloths and they also want a 10 euro deposit, even though no one would ever dream of stealing them they are such cheap rubbish. If you like to book all inclusive, I wouldn’t bother, full board is much cheaper, unless you want to get plastered on cheap local booze? You won’t find all the usual food goodies that most other places offer with all inclusive, all you will get here is a bowl of crisps and an ice cream …. You can’t even BUY a sandwich or a toastie or Tapas, they simply don’t have them!!

My friend has recently moved to the Mojacar area in Spain, so I booked a package with Loveholidays and chose Servigroup Marina Playa to stay in because it was at the right side of Mojacar to where he lives. My daughter, best friend and I opted for half board because it was a very reasonable add on to our stay and gave us the flexibility to return after a day out to dinner. The hotel is situated between Mojacar and Garrucha, so not in the busier strip further down the coast, but this suited us fine for our short break. The staff in the hotel are polite and efficient and the rooms are clean and spacious, with balconies you can sit out on. We opted for a sea view, since we'd come all the way to see the sea, but the pool and mountain view rooms would be equally acceptable I think, The room has a mini fridge, but nowhere to make tea or coffee. We travelled during May half term, expecting the hotel to be busy , but it was very quiet, which meant that we often had a pool to ourselves. There are three pools outdoors (one covered and heated) and the hotel is just across the road from a sandy beach and bar. The grounds of the hotel are pretty and well kept, with plenty of loungers to rest on! It very much felt like the season hadn't quite started as some of the bars and restaurants in the hotel were not open, but that didn't bother us at all. Food was plentiful and varied, to cater for European tastes and we enjoyed trying different combinations. Some of the food was luke-warm, but it's a small gripe, considering the huge choice. Rooms are serviced daily, unless you specify not to and the hotel feels clean and spacious. When we visited, most of the guests were Spanish, which was refreshing to see, given that we'd booked a UK package. My daughter's basic Spanish came in handy and was appreciated by the staff. If you want to party, then this probably isn't the hotel for you unless it's different during high season. However, we were really happy with our stay, and I'll definitely return if we come back to visit our friend.

The Best Oasis Tropical Hotel is located just in front of the sea, in the sunny village of Mojácar, only a few metres from a golf course. Comfortable rooms with balcony, fully fitted bathroom with hairdryer, satellite TV, security door lock, telephone, fridge, heating, air conditioning and optional safedeposit box. Buffet restaurant with show cooking, national and international cuisine. Swimming pool for adults and children, children’s area, kid’s club, garden, snackbar, gym and an indoor swimming pool in winter.
The rooms are well presented, especially the big beds, though they could do with some updating and repairs were necessary in the room we had. Initially we had a problem with car parking, as a disabled driver, no spaces but this was overcome by using the underground parking. The fridge in the room was a plus, The Internet was a bit shaky at times. Good variety of food was offered ,but at times the food was below the desired temperature. All customers wear gloves to serve food for themselves presently. The staff were very helpful and attentive at all times, even when they were working under pressure. The swimming pools were clean and well looked after, enjoyed the covered pool.

Comfortable rooms with balcony, fully fitted bathroom, satellite TV, security door lock, telephone, heating, air conditioning and optional safedeposit box. Buffet restaurant with show cooking, national and international cuisine. Swimming pool for adults and children, outdoor Jacuzzi, children's area and garden.
Ridiculous chaotic parking, it took 2 hours to check in, restricted opening hours for bar/restaurant and exceptionally noisy guest throughout the entire night. We have stayed here before but will never return !

Just spent three nights for our coral Wedding Anniversary and absolutely loved this large hotel. We booked through the Servigroup website and I would recommend everyone should. The website is in English too and by booking through it we obtained full board for four days for €230. The hotel seems to be used predominantly by Spaniards and accordingly all the food served is for its Spanish clientele but unless you have a great desire to consume daily cottage pie, roast dinners and burger and chips this hotel is brilliant. The food is served buffet style so you have a great opportunity to sample all Spains culinary delights. For the first time I tried fried milk, perch fish and a Madrid stew. All the food items are labelled in Spanish and English and there is so much choice. There is one station where chefs cook items such as pork steaks or fish fresh in front of you.Another station specialises inTapas including paella which was hugely popular. Wine, beer and other beverages can be bought at your table and are paid for as you leave the dining room. Wine costs €9.80 a bottle and if not fully consumed will be kept for you for the following meal. Our room had two queen beds and overlooked the sea with a large outside terrace and was well equipped with toiletries which were restocked each day.The room also had a fridge. As we had booked online we received complimentary bottles of water and two shopping bags but best of all on our first night much to our surprise a waiter brought a bottle of Cava in an ice bucket.

We have stayed here before and love this hotel, perfect location, friendly helpful staff and without a doubt the cleanest hotel we’ve ever stayed in, crisp white bedlinen and towels and the whole hotel kept spotlessly clean. Nice pool area aswell. We will definitely be returning !

Luxury Boutique Hotel. 14 Exclusive rooms with modern desing. Oasis in the sand of the beach. Excellent modern mediterranean restaurant.
Peaceful boutique hotel that I’m reviewing due to Joanna a member of waiting staff that deserves a mention. She is an asset to the hotel and made us the best omelette today when the chef was off. She will go far as nothing is too much trouble. The pool is lovely and room is large with everything you would need. At the far end of mojacar so ideally would need a car to explore the area
