This hotel was beautiful. The rooms were well furnished, not to mention absolutely massive in comparison to standard Japanese rooms. The views of Mt Fuji from our balcony were just incredible. The hotel was so accommodating, the shuttle bus they operate is incredibly helpful and made accessing the hotel and town so easy. We hope to come back to this hotel in the future!

Please choose the style of guestroom that you like from our western/ Japanese style rooms. From any of our rooms, on sunny days, you can enjoy the view of Mt. Fuji and lake Kawaguchiko. (Prices change depending on room)From the sky bar overlooking Lake Kawaguchiko , you can see the lights of the people who are climbing Mt. Fuji at night without clouds. “moon dance”is open for business in warm season.
My biggest regret was not booking more than 1 night. We was lucky enjough to arrive when the clouds were clearing and we ere treated to a 2 hour uninterrupted and sunny view of Mount Fuji. The view from our balcony was delightful and the onsen was quiet, clean and very relaxing. The food was superb throughout, the traditional Japanese dinner was one of the best meals we enjoyed and the westernised breakfast was delightful (and great for those that find some of the Japanese breakfast options a little challenging so early in the morning). We loved the lounge area, the fun and colourful object d'art, paintings and photographs displayed with the vast array of art and design books on offer along with the complimentary coffee. This place definately warrants a 2 night stay, not just for the hotel, but to sample the many things this area has available in general. Only complaint was the roof top bar service was a little on the cool (chilly) side, however the rest of the staff were warm and welcoming and professional. Would love to come back here! Don't hesitate booking....there are good reasons for the excellent reviews - this place is an absolute joy to stay in!

I stayed here with family specially with the intention of seeing mt. fuji- we drove by car from Tokyo to here and there’s a rather steep path up to the hotel... the check in experience was incredible, we had a host who sat with us and went through everything there was to offer at hotel including the incredible 5 course meal that was included in our stay, this menu differed slightly on each day of our trip so we didn’t get the same thing every night either - the restaurant is superb. The rooms are super clean, spacious and have the most incredible view!! (See the pictures) - our room included a tub with views out to Mount Fuji - I’ll be honest I got in there every morning because of the view. We had nothing but a positive experience at the hotel, the staff all spoke amazing English and could not have done more to help us! there’s a little shop where you can purchase souvenirs too. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a stay around this area, and if I come back I wouldn’t hesitate to book again. Thank you, you made my first visit to Mount Fuji unforgettable.

This was our best-ever ryokan experience, after 8 years in Japan! We stayed in the Shikibu Suite, the 2nd-largest of 11 rooms, for 2 nights. Our 200sqm suite had an enclosed garden, a private deck with onsen pool, and a separate bedroom, living, and dining/tatami room, all for our family of 4. Although the Presidential Suite looks wonderful in photos, I feel the Shikibu Suite was the more authentic Japanese experience--it had the Old World charm of a Japanese house, all in luxurious, hand-carved wood. The ryokan outdid itself with meals--Kaiseki for dinner, and a choice of West or Japanese breakfast. Kudos to the Chef and our hostess, Akiko san. The service was superb--Sato san met our car upon arrival in the rain, giving everyone an umbrella, even the kids. Our shoes and luggage wiped in the foyer, we entered our beautiful suite, followed closely behind by the lady Sato san, with out afternoon tea. Sato san deserves unreserved praise--he produced in only 2 hours, a beautiful cake at my wife's secret request for our anniversary dinner, plus an unexpected flower bouquet, which was a real surprise for her. Thank you to all the staff at Osenji Yumedono Ryokan--we would love to come back again someday.

Fuji, the setting is perfect for holidays. Our resort has various lodging options and every room comes with a private bathroom and free Wi-Fi. We also operate a free shuttle bus between Kawaguchiko Station and our hotel. We look forward to welcoming you.
We (husband, me and two teenage sons) stayed two nights. I will start with the positives. The resort is in a great location for touring around the Mount Fuji area, in woods which makes it pleasantly secluded and peaceful. The staff were very polite as you would expect, extremely helpful too. Once we were given a mobile WiFi kit the WiFi in our suite was faster than we had at home. Our suite was large, had two bedrooms with their own bathrooms. There was an indoor balcony area to sit in and look across the woods (ignoring some rather ugly buildings to do so). The breakfast buffet was extensive and the restaurant you ate it in had a fantastic view of Mount Fuji. It was a short drive to some very good restaurants off site. The swimming pool area looked lovely, but it was not open yet. There was a good games room with table tennis tables in the basement. The negatives. As other reviewers have written, the hotel has seen better days. There may be newer parts to the resort but the building we stayed in, just across from the main hotel with the reception, was desperately in need of some care and attention. It was not dirty, but stained and worn. The beds were extremely uncomfortable. The towels were paper thin. The whole resort site feels neglected with rather tired buildings in rather haphazard locations. There were a lot of coach tour customers who will have had no choice but to dine in the hotel restaurant and the buffet on offer looked pretty dire (a mix of Japanese and Mediterranean fare, baked pasta for example), after looking round it we left and as we had a car we went off site both nights. It was the rather shocking price of ¥5000 per person. I pondered 3 stars because of the staff and location. I ended up at 2 because an uncomfortable bed in a hotel is just not good enough. If I could have said 2.5 I would have. I have included some photos which highlight the issues I have identified. The lampshade on a lamp in our rooms seemed to me to sum up the problems quite well: stained and rather bartered but functional.

Started our December Japan trip by staying in this local hotel. Booking it was easy, I just wrote an email to them with my enquiry and they replied promptly. Price was cheap. Although we had the Twin + an extra single bed room. It was a nice fit for us. Even though the room was located in the old wing, I was still happy with it. The best part of the room was the aircon works and most importantly was the window could be open to let in cool air. This is very important as some Japanese hotels' room have only hot air blowing out during the winter seasons and makes sleeping for me almost impossible. We didn't have breakfast or any meals in the hotel as there were restaurants very near the hotel and were cheap and delicious! The shopping mall across from the hotel was great place to visit! Also just a short taxi ride to Fuji-Q and also the train station. There was a local free shuttle bus service that runs from the shopping mall to all over Fujikawaguchiko. Definitely highly recommended for a very nice budget stay!

We checked into Kasuitei Oya for just one night, as we were visiting Kawaguchiko and Mount Fuji en route from Tokyo to Matsumoto. The hotel sent a collection shuttle bus to the train station and was there in a flash. The staff at this hotel were excellent - they were very attentive and happy to spend time suggesting local things to visit. The room itself was beautiful with a great outlook over the lake. We booked a Western style room, which still had the traditional tatami mat area for relaxing but also had a raised Western style bed, which we enjoyed. We really enjoyed the baths and considered booking the private bath for an hour. In the end we just used the standard baths and the outside one was really lovely. I watched the full moon rise from the bath overlooking the lake - magical moment. Although you don't get a Fuji view from the baths or the room in the hotel, there is a balcony up on the same floor as the baths where you can see Fuji. The location of the hotel is brilliant - you can easily walk to restaurants and everything else you need. We spent a nice evening at a very nearby Izakaya called Cooliya bar, recommended by the hotel and a great place for some tasty plates and a couple of drinks later in the evening. We had the traditional breakfast in the morning. There were a lot of dishes within the breakfast - beautifully presented but a little bit too much food for me in the morning, with some of the dishes a bit on the experimental side for us! Overall, a great stay and would recommend.
