Villa Sorrento (Meta di Sorrento) very near Sorrento and a few kilometers from Capri, Positano, Amalfi, Ravello, Pompeii, Herculaneum, Ischia and Procida. In Villa Sorrento you can make a nice relaxing holiday and hospitality. Villa Sorrento is very near, also, the most famous beaches of the coast that are walking distance . Every room has a private balcony, air conditioning, private bathroom, tv. In Villa, surrounded by a beautiful garden, there is a large swimming pool. On require, the guest can eat his breakfast on the room balcony or in the garden. The guests can enjoiy some experiences ( like walking in a typical growe, taste of local food and wine products, a walk by boat of the owners, participate in events with accompaniment, doing daily sports in a pitch of artificial grass among orange trees). You can field all the experiences and events on our website. From Villa Sorrento, in few minutes, the guest can go to Faito Mountain by cableway and to archeological city of Pompeii
Villa Sorrento is a great base if you are looking to explore Naples and the Amalfi coast. We were a family of four and stayed in the apartment. This had everything we needed including the swimming pool outside which our two girls loved. Our hosts were friendly and gave lots of advice for exploring the surrounding areas. To visit Vesuvius we took the train from Meta to Ercolano then used the Vesuvius express coach company to get us to the top. We also took a trip to Amalfi using the local bus Sita (this advertises a stop in Meta however starts in Sorrento so is always full before it gets to Meta) which we picked up outside Sorrento station. This is a very popular bus in peak months so get there early. We planned a stop in Positano but ran out of time waiting for the bus! We came back by ferry boat to Sorrento, which was a great way to see the coast line. Meta is a lovely town, much quieter than neighbouring Sorrento, we found the shops and restaurants reasonable and everything is only a train ride away.

The Panorama Palace Hotel is located on a panoramic Cliff overlooking the Gulf of Naples and Sorrento Peninsula. Not far from a sandy beach the hotel offers from basic to sea view and family rooms all with ensuite bathroom. A rich buffet breakfast is served every morning free of charge. At guest disposal a jacuzzi pool, 1 internal bar and 1 exteranl bar overlooking the sea, garage (extra fee), restaurants and events room.
I stayed at this hotel on a group tour. How this is 4 star I have no idea. Room was one step up from a hostel, bed was creaky and the bathroom smelt like sewerage. I left a fitbit in my room when I left and believe staff took it as they ignored several emails to have it found and returned. The only thing saving it is the view as it is perched on a cliffside overlooking the ocean, and there's a good bar nearby. Also its pretty easy and cheap to jump on a bus into town. That will still take 30 minutes, its not really central.

A beautiful re-constructed 1850/1913 antique building - VILLINO CASTELLANO is situated 200 meters from the main church (Saint Mary of Lauro), 300 meters from the railway station (Circumvesuiviana) with local trains every half an hour to Sorrento on one side (7 minutes ride only) and Pompei/Naples (45/60 minutes) on the opposite direction and at 200 mt from the shuttle bus stop from/to Naples Airport (up to 12 rides/day). Easily accessible both by car and by train, VILLINO CASTELLANO offers a breath taking view of the Gulf of Naples and its islands from its 240 sq mt terrace and some of its apartments. It is about a 15 minute walk from the beaches with the beautiful and inspiring cliffs in the background VILLINO CASTELLANO has been completely restructured (2005) and offers comfortable apartments for up to 5 persons. The villa has a beautiful garden and some parking facilities for its guests. You'll be accomodated in a self catering fully equipped apartment with bath/shower and a 2,5 mt kitchen ... some apartments are very panoramic and others have a private space on the courtyrad (at 1st floor) We'll give you upon arrival many many info and we'll show you on a local map where to go, how to move (buses, trains and boats timetables) or how to go back to Naples Aiport or to Rome. And I can grant you car would not be necessary !!! We are sure we are in the perfect baricentric location for easy visits the many touristic and archeological sites of this exceptional region, from Capri to Pompei, from the Amalfi Drive/Positano/Ravello to the Sentiero degli Dei (the God's Path) - a 7 Km track on the mountains, from up Agerola to down Positano, a splendid panoramic walk on the Amalfi Riviera. And out of the standard visits we'll tell you some peculiar ways of going here around in order to optimize your vacation ... and, why not, some very good offers we have negotiated for you with restaurants, beaches ecc ecc
Booking very easy and host was great at answering detailed questions prior to our arrival including arranging airport pickup. Location is ideal for exploring the area - 10 min walk to train station and then frequent and very cheap (1.30€ single to Sorrento) travel to local towns. Several small supermarkets in the town and small bakers/small shop just 2min up the road. Appartment itself is a bit basic but clean and sufficient. Ours was one large room - 3 single beds, table & chairs and cooking area. Unfortunately no sofa or comfy chairs. Fridge & freezer worked well as did electric hob once we worked it out. Note no kettle or coffee machine but hairdryer was provided. Bathroom was functional, shower could have been better. The warning to shower sparingly were not needed we always had plenty of hot water.

Slip straight out of the grand Mar Hotel Alimuri into beautiful Alimuri Bay off the Sorrento Peninsula. The sands of time slow down on our pristine private beach, which rolls up to our luxury Sorrento, Italy, hotel you’ve always imagined. From the moment you arrive, to the time you wish you weren’t leaving, outstanding service makes for an unforgettable holiday.
We are 4 days into our 7 day stay at the Mar hotel - yes, it’s marketed as a 4 star hotel but I would say more a 3 purely because it just needs a few finishing touches. We have room 408 on the reception level which is a basic room with traditional Italian design. It is clean, functional and the maids tend to it daily (we did say this wasn’t necessary but they insisted). There is a fridge so we walked to the local supermarket and bought our own water which was a lot cheaper. The bed is firm which is to my taste but my wife likes a slightly softer bed. I think a mattress topper would be a cheap and easy way to upgrade the bed for the rest of the season if they wanted to improve this. The hotel itself is beautiful, meticulously cleaned every day by the very attentive staff on shift. The reception staff are really helpful and assisted us to book a trip to Amalfi/Positano and Ravello with a private company which was a lot cheaper than the TUI rep tried to sell us. The leaflet for this including lunch is on the hotel reception for those interested. The food is lovely, I honestly cannot understand the negative reviews for food. We are both vegetarian and booked half-board. When there is limited options we just ask the waiters/waitress who will put together some lovely food for us which was a nice touch. The meals are very fresh, it isn’t Michelin star but very tasty and good restaurant quality. Breakfast is a buffet with a lot of sweet and savoury options including cooked and chilled. It is a nice selection and again if you fancy something specific the staff go out of their way to try to get it for you. It can feel a bit canteen-like but I think with a few tweaks it would meet the 4 star label. The pool is cleaned at least daily and there are two first aid trained lifeguards by the pool/beach between around 08:00 and 18:00. The hotel offers a clean towel per guest daily and free sun beds on the private beach. The beach is stone instead of sand so I would recommend sturdy shoes. The sea is clean (not one piece of litter spotted the whole time we have been here so far) and a beautiful turquoise colour. We took the hotel shuttle bus to Sorrento which took about 15-20 minutes, we booked return from the reception and it was prompt. It goes to and from Sorrento about 5/6 times a day and is really helpful to get you in and out. There are several little beachside restaurants and cafe’s along the front if you go exploring. Not sure how the other reviewers couldn’t find them as they are quite obvious if you take a stroll. Overall - a great little hotel with some lovely touches and wonderful staff. A few things listed above stopping it being 4 star in my opinion, however the quirks really make the place great and we love it. Would recommend to anyone who wants a peaceful and relaxing holiday, come and enjoy the sound of the sea lapping the shore and the quiet Italian lifestyle. Thank you to Sergio and the team who made the place excellent, I will keep trying to learn to speak Italian - I clearly need the lessons!

If you are looking for a place to stay around Sorrento, look no further! Domus Meta is the perfect place! Located just a few minutes drive from Sorrento, this hotel is a hidden gem. The room are newly renovated, very stylish and super clean. Everything is spot on. We had special requests regarding extra blankets and towel and we got everything immediately! I didn’t get to the best part though - Pasquale the host. From the first moment the communication with him was great. He attended to all our needs and was very helpful. We had a HUGE issue with our car rental, and after one phone call to Pasquale it got sorted! By helping us with this issue he saved us 4 wasted hours and 170 euro (not to mention the car upgrade we got!). I don’t think we could get this kind of help in any of the big hotel chains around. Personally, I want to thank you again Pasquale. To summarize, Domus Meta is the best value for money you can ask for. Don’t hesitate and just book your room there for a great vacation! Ciao!

We stayed at the Palazzo Sassi hotel for two weeks, and they were amazing. All is wonderful about this place: beach in 5 min, bus stop in a minute, train station may be in 10.(We have never faced to a big delay of the buses or trains, by the way!). So this is very easy from this location to reach all the destinations you need-Vesuvius, Napoli, Sorrento etc There is a very nice restaurant opposite the hotel, and there are few more at the beach, some with the gorgeous sea view! Not far away there are a few shops, pharmacy with all you need. And the hotel itself: is a clean place, with everyday room service; quiet. Our room was with a balcony -which was perfect for taking some tea or meal in a shade during the day or in the evening. There are very kind and always helpful ladies work there! Francesca with Carmen (who fluently speaks English) and Federica! Thank you, ladies for our warm stay at your place:)! So we definitely and highly recommend Palazzo Sassi as a place to stay!
