Our beach hotel is located 30km North of Maputo in Macaneta where the beach stretches for miles along the warm Indian Ocean. An area that is very popular to both locals and tourists alike for its beautiful beaches, fishing and close proximity to the city centre allowing tourists to enjoy all that Mozambique has to offer. Ecolux was built in 2019 with rooms available to guests in August 2019, the hotel is designed and built by the owners who enjoy a modern upmarket luxury style, rooms are spacious and offer all the comforts one can expect from five star accommodation. The grounds have been sculptured around the natural vegetation preserving the natural habitation of fauna and flora found in the area that is home to a large variety of bird life. Ecolux offers trips to Maputo and fishing safaris as well as chartered trips to the nearby islands like Santa Maria and Bazaroto. Deep sea fishing, diving and snorkelling, horse riding and day trips to neighbouring South Africa to visit the Kruger National Park are some of the activities away from the hotel that can be enjoyed. Reviewed By LifilyoonWe recently booked out the entire venue for a family get away and private celebration. As close to the beach as you can get in Mozambique with luxury living at it’s best. I will most certainly return some day and feel we got amazing value for the money we paid. Thank you for a memorable get away that we’ll never forget. I want to be back there!

Calmo e junto à praia.
Reviewed By marco-lmmsfJá estive aqui duas vezes e mais virei. Lodge calmo e sossegado. Tudo muito simples, inclusive os quartos, mas com o suficiente para umas duas noites. Tem bar e restaurante que servem perfeitamente para comer ou beber qualquer coisa, mas nada de pratos mais "elaborados". Os funcionários são simpáticos e os alojamentos estavam limpos. A praia fica à saída do portão e tem toldos em que se paga o aluguer a uns rapazes que por ali estão. A relação qualidade/preço podia ser melhor, baixando um pouco os preços e mantendo o estado actual já não era mau.

How not to deal with a disappointed customer
Reviewed By MozEcoToursI’ve taken time to reflect on the awful experience we had at a place we’ve previously more or less enjoyed. The food has always only ever been average-to-good. Never great. Often over-cooked. Almost always rather bland. But it has always been reliably average, and the setting is great. The restaurant is simply but elegantly set, with billowing white fabric on the matchesa poles. So, staying in Macaneta for my birthday, it was an easy choice for a birthday dinner. We arrived and asked for drinks while we watched the sun set over the river and swamps. My wife asked for a Margarita. What arrived was an abomination. A tall glass, brimming over with an artificial-looking yellow liquid, the glass stuffed with chunks of lemon, no sign of salt on the rim. We called the waiting staff to ask what we’d been given and were informed that there was no mistake. We sent it back, even demonstrating (via google) a selection of images of what a margarita should look like (not to mention its core ingredients). The young girls serving the table were very confused, huddled together and then plucked the courage to go and talk to the owner. A few minutes later, the lady appeared at our table and aggressively defended her ‘margarita’. No matter how we tried, the lady wouldn’t let it go. We got to the point of pleading with her simply to give it up and serve us something else (we weren’t asking not to pay). But no, the lady went back to the bar and returned with a bottle called ‘Margarita’, and even peeled off the label so she could show us the ‘recipe’! I don’t need to add more. We asked for the bill and paid. By then, the crab paté had arrived. Given that we were leaving, I asked for it to be wrapped. A few minutes later, one of the waiting staff returned to say that we’d have to pay for the take-away! We fell about laughing and left. This was a perfect example of how NOT to deal with a disappointed customer.

Lack of communication
Reviewed By FabSouthAfricanWas not impressed. Had booked 2 nights, but due to lack of communication from owner to staff, staff were never informed of our saying. We arrived to Vamili guest lodge to have no rooms ready,. A long wait for dinner, no bottled water. Construction on premises was going on, with staff making much noise in the morning. We left after one night. Manager had no knowledge of amount to charge us!!!!!!!!!
