Excellent satff, nice hotel with lots of ancient settings. But has the capacity to improve and compete favourably with other renouned hotels accros the continent. Need for facelift of the architecture will be most welcomed and reposition it better in the 21st century.

I’ve been to this hotel several times. The staff is ok, and the rooms are comfortable. The food is nothing special. Good for business trips since the rooms are spacious and have a desk to work. Room service also works well. The place has security at the entrance.

Hotel located in full centre town, district calm and near the banks, artisanal restaurant and walk, the tariff company is of 59 euros, access internet wireless free.
My second time here. Last time was in 2010. Nothing changed, which means it's still a modest, well run hotel, minimal, satisfactory continental breakfast included. Menu is basic. "Captain" Nile Perch brochettes were best on menu and Potage de Legume I ordered a number of times. Laundry service is quick and economical compared to most hotels. In same block are Asian, French, and Tex-Mex-Ukrainian restaurants. Staff are friendly, easy going. One negative are little, silent mosquitos in room (even though hotel fumigates for them) and in dining room.

I lived here for three nights and had a running battle with mosquitos in the room. Ate all my meals at the hotel restaurant. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The room was clean and fresh. The shower is European in style - meaning narrow, and one has to step high to get into the tub. Plenty of hot water to wash the days' dust off the body. Breakfast is a buffet-style, and one can get cooked to order eggs as long as they are scrambled. No matter what you order, they are scrambled. Oh, and the beef is beef tongue, and room temperature potatoes with onions. Good flavor, but the texture is like liver. Some will like it, but not me. Fanta orange is the most stocked soft drink. I drank all the Coke they had in stock. Dinner and supper menu is not very extensive The hotel grounds are well maintained and secured. Visa is accepted, and most all speak English. I was assigned to room 305, where the TV screen goes black after about 15 minutes of watching. Audio remains on, but the screen goes black. Just turn off then on again, and you have another 15 mins to watch the action. Only one English Channel, EuroNews channel. All others in French. Don’t expect much more than the very basics in amenities or soft fluffy towels. The bottom line is - I would stay here again.

Pool and surroundings was very dirty, fitness center and spa could not be used (dirty and deteriorated!)

The Tamana hotel, near the Hippodrome in Bamako, has been conceived with the intention of creating a whole-African atmosphere. The center piece of the hotel is a garden where the customers can enjoy the shadow of big trees, the freshness of a waterpool and the charm of well-chosen African-style furniture, art works and decorations. Nicholas, the courteous director of the hotel, is running the hotel very well. During my stay, from 10 to 19 March 2019, I often made use of the restaurant of the hotel, not only for breakfast (comprised in the room price), but also for lunch and dinner. Mostly, too much personnel seemed at work for too little customers. In the evening, mosquitoes could be annoying companians. Tamana hotel is a bit far from the city center. However, restaurants, a bakery, an ice shop, bars and night clubs are at walking distance. Taxis can easily be halted (1,500 francs to the center) along the Bla Bla road.

This is an average hotel, with average rooms and an average bathroom. I chose it for the location, and the two things I liked most about it were 1) the grounds, a large garden with flowers and outdoor tables, and 2) the people, who were friendly and helpful.

On my first visit to Bamako in 1986 I stayed in a very nondescript, run down hotel near the railway station. The line to Dakar is closed now and the city has been transformed with wide avenues, new bridges across the Niger river, etc. During my recent stay I was lucky enough to be directed to the Casa Blanca, possibly one of the best places I have found anywhere. The owner specializes in displaying local artworks and serving excellent meals. The chicken and fish dishes I ate for dinner on two consecutive evenings were top quality. My room was large as was the adjoining bathroom. The work table was fine and the air con was quiet! The only drawback was a rather hard bed. But if I return to Bamako I'll be sure to reserve a room at the Casa Blanca.
