We look forward to welcoming you to Admiralty Apartments on magnificent Lord Howe Island.
This place is amazing and perfect in every way. We came here for our honeymoon for 7 nights. From the moment we arrived we were warmly welcomed by our hosts Grace and Steve who were fabulous and very accommodating. Giving us a guided tour of the Island on the first day and they provided us with a shuttle service each night, dropping us off to restaurants for dinner. Upon arrival there was a beautiful hamper awaiting us, filled with a bottle of wine, cheese, crackers, fresh bread, eggs, butter, chocolates. The list goes on. The apartment was gorgeous, luxurious, and very well appointed. Meticulously clean, private, and nestled among the tropical kentia palm trees. Lots of little extra touches and attention to detail to ensure we had a perfect stay. The location of Admiralty Apartments was great and close to everything. A short stroll along our private walking track down to Ned’s Beach, which is a must. Close to town for a meal or a massage. Sometimes we walked into town or rode our complimentary bikes which was included in our stay. Thanks again Grace and Steve for wonderful stay.

Lorhiti Boutique Apartments. An oasis of seclusion in one of the best locations on Lord Howe Island, Lorhiti is the closest resort to stunning Ned's Beach and central to island facilities, beaches, tours, and attractions. Six Bali/Thai style one bedroom apartments surrounded by 2 hectares of secluded tropical gardens. Property Features: BBQ, gazebo, laundry, private beach access, tropical gardens, transit lounge and library, away from main roads, public phone, free evening transport to restaurants, 24 hour caretaker. Rooms Features: modern amenities, flat screen TV/CD/DVD, free in-room WiFi, king or twin king single beds, full kitchen, airy veranda's, ceiling fans, insect screens on windows, en suite bathroom, electric blankets and heater, beach towels, linen, towels, ceiling fans, coffee plunger, iron, vacuum cleaner, back pack, hair dryer, clock radio, sarongs and bathrobes, insect spray and air freshener, torch, games and umbrella.
Lorhiti is a lovely self contained apartment stay. The owners Kathi and Fletch provide a lot of information to make your stay comfortable. This starts on pick up and there is a lot more information in the rooms. If you have specific questions, they (or anyone on the island) will oblige. The location is great. 10 mins from “downtown” by foot, but you’ll hire a bike and it’s an easy few minutes cycle away. Nothing is too far anyway and if you are going further afield you can arrange the hosts to drop you off at 6pm and all restaurants drop you back from 7:30. If you want to self cater, there are shops but it’s not as broad as the mainland so if you’ve got a specific diet, maybe bring some essential supplies over, but be aware the flights are weight restricted. TBH the restaurants are all pretty good and the bar does periodic meals. Kathi and Fletch can advise on this beforehand. Lorhiti is extremely well maintained, exceptionally clean and surrounded by beautiful gardens. IMHO it probably needs an update, I can’t compare to anything else on the island but I can compare to around the world and Australia. I don’t mind paying a premium but I know what that looks like elsewhere. But I am being fussy so doing let this dissuade you from staying here because you’ll love it and it is nice. The island is absolutely worth visiting but my hot tip is, book every tour and restaurant (for every night) well in advance (like a month). Tours are weather dependent so book them early in your stay in case of changes in schedules (meaning you’ll still be able to do them later). The Balls Pyramid half day trip with Dave from Reef and Beyond should be your first one and then if you’re fit, Jack’s Mt Gower full day hike. There’s one Thai massage lady so boom early for her the day after you do Mt Gower. I wish I’d managed that. You’ll love Lord Howe and you’ll enjoy Lorhiti.

Renowned for its warm and friendly service and laid back ambience, Arajilla Retreat encapsulates the very essence of Lord Howe Island, offering guests a haven of tranquillity and peace. Arajilla is perfectly positioned on the northern sheltered end of the Island’s lagoon just behind Old Settlement Beach, where meandering pathways lead through native gardens to the beach, to its serene Ayurvedic Spa luxurious suites. Explore the extraordinary scenery and wildlife of World Heritage listed Lord Howe Island. Walk bush trails, climb mountains, swim, surf, snorkel, fish, cycle around the Island, play golf beneath the mountains, take it easy on a deserted beach, enjoy a massage or treatment. And it’s all less than a two hour flight from Sydney or Brisbane.
A lovely place to stay. The whole experience was easy, comfortable and very friendly. We appreciated the attention to detail, and the staff’s readiness to help. Canapé hour was very nice, as was meeting the other guests. Meals are great. The only thing I would have changed is to add a few more non-bread options for lunch! The resort is extremely conveniently sited, close to town, Lagoon, and Settlement Beach Favourite things: charming wait staff, beautiful calm atmosphere and comfortable beds,

Waimarie offers two, one bedroom apartments surrounded by lush kentia palms less than 400m from your pick of pristine beaches. Our apartments are secluded and private, the perfect place for an intimate couples escape, yet close enough to share on a week away with friends.
This place is special. We stayed a week and loved everything. The unit was superb, with little personal touches supplied by our most gracious and accommodating hosts Sharon and Peter. The view from the unit was terrific, and it was so quiet that we slept in every morning. The friendly restaurants were great and after dinner they drive you back to your accommodation. The island is a true gem with flights from Sydney, Port Macquarie and also the Gold Coast it is easier to get to. There are only 400 visitors allowed at any time so it isn’t crowded. If you want a great escape, please consider Waimarie at Lord Howe Island, you won’t regret it.

We had a fabulous time on Lord Howe Island for our honeymoon staying at the Milky Way holiday villas. This is the perfect place to stay because it is located at the end of the island, away from everything but sill close to the main hub of shops, you are surrounded by nature with bush walks on your doorstep to take you to stunning lookouts and locations, you have old settlement beach right there which is literally the villas own private beach with the lack of people around. The accomodation is clean and comfortable with all your needs taken care of. Staff are friendly and helpful and leave you in peace to enjoy your stay. Stunning island, great accomodation. Highly recommend.

Beachcomber Lodge is a family owned and operated lodge located on beautiful Lord Howe Island - a world heritage listed island in the South Pacific, approximately 700km from Sydney. Beachcomber is surrounded by Lord Howe's natural beauty, set amongst native Lord Howe Island Kentia Palms with splashes of colour from an array of tropical flowers. Beachcomber is only a few minutes walk to Ned's Beach, famous for its snorkeling & fish feeding, and an easy walk or bike ride to convenient stores & visitors centre. Beachcomber is perfectly located for those wanting to explore those natural attractions that have made Lord Howe famous.
This is a very different holiday especially for older visitors. Good place for the young and fit but they probably can’t afford it. Accommodation is ok but basic, spacious clean roomy but no air conditioning and a bit tatty. The biggest problem is the location. Bicycles are the main form of transport or walk. It is on the top of a steep hill about 1.5 km from the shops. Even the school kids had to get off and push their bikes up, so quite a problem for 70 year olds. Roads are also narrow and lumpy. Getting around is very difficult especially when we were unlucky that it rained four out of the six days. No wonder it’s green and lush. Virtually no internet or mobile phones and basic tv stops when it rains! You can get a lift to restaurants and they will bring you back although the bowling club forgot us and went home! The chef had to give us a lift after cleaning the kitchen. Only a small number of restaurants were open and most were only two nights a week due to Covid. Bowling club had the best food. You have to book usually using a public phone. The natural features are amazing but not in the rain or when it’s difficult to get there. They really need to provide more for older visitors. Understandably everything costs double the mainland price. Must admit this holiday was disappointing. A big thank you to the manager Paul who did a great job. Also the beachcomber restaurant was closed down.

Ebbtide's 5 spacious sunfilled rooms offer privacy and comfort suited to the natural beauty of the Island. Our 2.5 acre property is located close to popular Neds beach and surrounded by Kentias, Frangipanis, Paw Paws and Bananas. Offering fruit and veg from the garden, snorkeling gear, liquor selection, tranfers and much more with congenial hosts.
The location of the apartment was lovely with great views and proximity to Ned’s Beach, but the apartment itself was a little disappointing. When we arrived there was no water and during our stay the gas ran out in the middle of cooking dinner - these issues were quickly fixed but required a phone call from the transit room with a sign that states really strongly that guests are NOT to call unless there is an emergency- a little of putting. There is very little provided in the way of supplies, no shampoo/ conditioner, glad wrap, microwave, milk etc and limited cooking equipment for self catering - we couldn’t get the BBQ to work. If you require some of these things you have to pay - for milk, toilet paper (if you run out) to use the washing machine and you must pay $10 for wifi - although you are only allowed to use it for emails. I do understand that it is very expensive for everyday items on LHI and this place is spectacular and well worth a visit but when you are paying upwards of $480 a night then it seems stingy to have to pay for a little box of milk. Tarif prices like these would provide a real luxury experience in many other place in the world and even at some of our gorgeous Whitsundays Islands. Our flight was cancelled as we arrived at the airport to depart and the uncertainty regarding flights is a problem for the Island, a flight was also cancelled the day before, make sure you have allowed extra time for this eventuality. The issue of where to then stay for the extra night involved some further unpleasantness for us but that’s another story! I don’t like to complain - and rarely do but I think given the high cost of visiting this Island, some of these issues should be addressed. We would possibly visit again but would stay at a different place.
