The Royal Victoria Hotel Snowdonia is nestled at the foot of the spectacular Llanberis Pass under the shadow of Snowdon itself on the edge of the Snowdonia National Park. It is set within 30 acres of gardens and woodland, cradled between Llyn Padarn and Llyn Peris. This is an ideal location in the heartland of North Wales for a breathtaking and memorable stay. Rooms are spacious with all modern amenities. The Hotel offers three restaurants, bar, residents lounge, five meeting/conference rooms and ample car parking.
Arrived in a cold and damp day. The reception we received was just the same. The lift was broken so was faced with walking up 3 flights of stairs with heavy cases ( we were on a road trip) . We opted to grab an overnight bag and glad we did. The room was quite a way from the reception with over 50 stairs each way with king corridors i between The bar and restaurant was good although staff stood around talking for most of the night and not attentive to ours or others needs. The food, however, was outstanding and very tasty. Our room was clean and very nice. Our view was overlooking the gardens. The bathroom had a bath and shower with soap and plenty of towels. Breakfast was good. A vast variety of foods for all tastes. The host and lady serving the hot buffet were the only friendly people throughout the entire hotel Overall, the service lets this hotel down. Beautiful surroundings and location with nice rooms unfortunately the staff just are not friendly

Deep in the beautiful mountain scenery of North Wales, YHA Snowdon Llanberis is located on the doorstep of Snowdonia National Park - and is a ten minute walk from Llanberis High Street. From the hostel you can walk up Snowdon. Alternatively, from the village you can catch a train up to the top of Snowdon or along Llyn Padarn, explore the history of the region at the Slate Museum, or visit Electric Mountain. YHA Snowdon Llanberis is an ideal base for families, individuals and groups of walkers, cyclists and climbers who want easy access to the fantastic mountain trails, rivers, lakes and attractions of Snowdonia.
Llanberis is a small town surrounded by beautiful views of Wales mountains. We stayed in one of the YHA hostel cabin which is a perfect choice for a family trip like this. The cabin looked like new. It was very clean and has comfi beds.

Absolutely loved this place, room was spot on, we're not one of the white gloves brigade, and didn't need to be, it was spotless. Host's were very accommodating, breakfast was at 8am but we were leaving to climb before then, so they made us a pack up breakfast to take before we went, which in my book is above and beyond. Beautiful room, beautiful place, amazing breakfast. Well done guys, we will be back.

Very overpriced, very basic and rather grotty hotel. The corridors smell of stale smoke which is incredible when you think smoking has been banned in such establishments for almost 15 years. The smell in the room was not as strong but still there and now all our clothes smell. The decor is fired, tatty and outdated - corridors painted white, aqua and cream, with burgundy patterned (smelly) carpets and no sign of the “refurbishments” they boast of. Our bed was comfortable but the room was grim, and the bathroom awful. We had tepid baths and showers, a hairdryer that blew cold air only (gave up trying to dry my hair in the end), unmatched stained cups, no milk, no TV remote control etc. At breakfast there were no coffee cups as only 4 had apparently been put out, and I had to wait for the server to touch the insides of all the cups on the shelf before she actually handed me one. Paid £25 for a steak I couldn’t cut let alone eat and was only offered a free dessert to compensate. Breakfast has to be ordered the night before and one of the options is “meat sausage” which pretty much sums this place up. This was an £80 experience at best (and that is being very generous), cost us £137 a night, and was on booking.com for over £200! Having said all that, the young staff did their best and were very sweet.

Location was perfect as on a work trip to Snowdon. However, this hotel (if you can call it that) doesn’t have on site parking. Before my visit I was told there would be plenty of parking in the high street. There is not. This accommodation also does not serve breakfast. However, the crux of my stay was the night’s sleep I did not get. This is apparently now the local pub, and you can certainly tell as you move into the night time hours. Reception is unmanned due to Covid and there is no one around the query anything. Music blaring into the small hours, bottle bins being emptied late at night and other guests being quite rowdy in the halls. The room itself was actually not bad. Comfy bed and simple facilities for a solo traveller, but if you need a good sleep before a busy day, this probably isn’t the place for you.
