Simple hotel at a perfect location
Reviewed By janetowusuNice and simple hotel at a perfect location. Not enough recreational centers but lovely pool. I would recommend to travelers who don’t want to spend much. Need more improvement on the washroom and changing room.

Wonderful stay
Reviewed By miss_suzie1The staff are friendly from the gate to the reception . The room was big enough clean towels, clean bedding’s, the Wi-Fi is strong and stable. They bring breakfast to the room since they don’t have a restaurant. I loved my stay I highly recommend.

The dining room is particularly airy and attractive and gives access to an outdoor terrace, to eat and drink or take a swim in the outdoor pool!

Tranquility in a big city
Reviewed By ModernWanderersWe spent our first two nights in Ghana here and it was a relatively peaceful stay! PROS: - very quiet - very comfy bed in a clean, spacious room - good air-con - friendly, if not a tad shy, staff - peaceful/beautiful breakfast area — it was cooler (temperature-wise) eating outside than it was inside our room! - pretty garden and oh-so-quiet: you’d hardly know you were in a big city! - breakfast took forever to be made on our first morning and we ended up being late to meet our guide; for the second morning, we pre-ordered breakfast the night before … TBH, we didn’t think they’d remember (nothing was written down), but they did and it was ready right on time! CONS: - upon arrival the bathroom bin was still full in our room from previous guests (staff did apologize for this and emptied it straight away) - the light from the hallway was shining into our room all night - the bed sheets had holes in them; there was no blanket on the bed - the tap in the bathroom sink wouldn’t turn on all the way (a poor feat of engineering) - thin walls: we could hear the TV in the room next to us (the person had it on very late and then again just after 6am each morning) - we were woken by staff on the first morning with an unexpected phone call just before 7am (apparently it was a breakfast reminder, though we hadn’t requested the wake-up call) - wifi was spotty at best - though we can’t really speak to the location as we never left the hotel except in a car, when we did leave we couldn’t see much in the area as we drove by TIPS: - don’t forget to turn on the water heater switch if you want hot water!

It is less than 30 minutes from the airport, 45 minutes from Tema Har.

Comfortable, clean and safe
Reviewed By Jacqui LA large room with good air con, a fabulously huge bed, sofa seating, desk and a clean well kept bathroom. Breakfast is limited in choice but ok. Coffee is instant sachets and no black tea available. Dinner is limited and food wasn't available on a late arrival. Hairdryer available from Reception. Soap only available in bathroom. Located in a fairly quiet area within very easy access to a shopping mall and local market.

They could have done better
Reviewed By Claudia RI stayed twice in October 2019. Once at the beginning and the other at the end of October. I was impressed with the staff when the took my bags to my room and the warm welcome. But then it when downhill from there. My room was musty. The sheets were not sheets but a bedspread that smelt like it hadn't been washed in a while. I ask them to change the room. They said that they will send the manager. She said that she will fix the problem. She thought that it was the pluming. Instead of changing my room, they fill the room with air freshener. The buffet was ok, but the food was cold. The coffee machine made watered down coffee. It was not a great experience. My second stay was slightly better but not by much. I did get a better room, but the door wouldn't look properly. MJ Grand was not so grand in the end. The hotel rating should be a 3 and not a 4.

Worn down, pool dirty
Reviewed By Dennis PWe stayed there for one night when your flight was cancelled. The hotel looks tired and worn down. It had its premium time some years ago. The bed was hard as concrete. There was a fridge and a cooking stove at the room. The pool was dirty and smelled badly. The food we got while staying there was overcooked and basically killed. Breakfast there wasn't much for the kids. Overcooked chicken. The pricing is way to high compared to the other hotels we stayed on in Accra. I would expect more from this process. Spend a few more dollars and stay somewhere else.
