Very tastefully decorated rooms, but without a lock on the door and a shared bath. Nicely maintained and clean. It is possible to use the kitchen. The pool on the photo is hardly larger than a bathtub. The landlady likes to socialize and is overly talkative, which is why this B&B is recommended mainly for non-French speaking guests.

Domaine de Palatz is a charming 17th Century country estate located in the heart of the wine growing area of the Minervois, Languedoc Roussillon, and offers luxurious accommodation on a Bed & Breakfast (B&B) and self catering basis. Recently renovated to exacting standards, the domaine retains much of its original rustic charm, and combines delightful period details with the modern amenities you would expect, all in spacious natural surrounds of 25 acres. There is a large private pool and summer kitchen, covered courtyard, ample parking facilities, numerous picnicking and BBQ areas, gardens, terraces and panoramic views. Surrounded by vineyards, this property is ideal for a peaceful, relaxing holiday. Local activities include fine dining, sightseeing, watersports, fishing, walking, horse riding, golf, or simply lazing in the Languedoc sun. Easily accessible by plane, train or car, Domaine de Palatz is one hour from the coast, 20 mins from the airport and medieval town of Carcassonne, and just a breathe away from countless cultural and historical sights.
Reviews for Holiday Home x6 pers, 1 Double, 1 Twin & Bunk Beds Gite 1 Mirablle - The original Vigneron’s cottage, tastefully renovated leaving a lot of the old, original features, but a bit dark inside. Domaine de Palatz is located amongst the beautiful Minervois landscape. The property itself is in a rural location and parts of it very old; so don’t expect a pristine, 5* swanky property, but it’s full of character. It shows that the owners have lovingly restored the buildings and put in a lot of hard work - but there is still a bit more to do to bring this property up to match the current, online pictures. Note that evening meals are not currently provided. GOOD - Beautiful views from the property. - Jodie and James are very welcoming & considerate hosts - Beautiful Courtyard: the Gites share the same, shaded, old courtyard - where the BBQ resides and attractive tables & chairs. At night, the lighting is very atmospheric. Great place to sit. - Pool Area: lovely Summer House area with Honesty Bar. Nice seating area with sofa.Lots of beds and shades. Towels provided. TO NOTE: - The road leading up to the property is an uneven dirt track. - Gite 1 is a bit dark inside; pictures for Gite 1 are now a bit out of date on the websites. - No AC but there are Ceiling fans in both the upstairs bedrooms. - Pool cushions were always full of water so would benefit from being stored in the Summer House when rain is forecast. - Double bedroom in need of a blackout curtain or blind, and have an over linen sheet that actually fits the bed.

Chateau St Jacques D'Albas provided the perfect setting for a week of good company with friends. With our spotless Gite, friendly welcome and fabulous facilities, we were never short of things to do. The chateau is set in a gorgeous location and is brilliantly equipped with swimming pool and tennis court, while the local area provides fantastic walks. Carcassonne is also a short drive away, and is an essential visit if you are new to this region of France. The highlight of our stay was a tour of the wine-making facilities, which are both state of the art and picturesque! You must come and discover this incredibly beautiful place for yourself.
