The single rooms I stayed in were really spacious and super clean with just enough facilities to store all the stuff. The drawback for me was a lack of kitchen where you could prepare some food for yourself (the hostel does not provide breakfast yet there is an on-site restaurant where you can buy it) and the very size of the place - it’s quite huge which means quite a bit of noise at night (still I was there during Semana Santa thus for sure it was incomparably more crowded than usually). But all depends on the preferences.

Reviewed By 314botGood location, howeever a few negative points. 1:Rooms are small and cleaning is not great. 2: The cabins are not private so we could hear our neighbors snoring. 3: It was raining through our roof, so the whole room was quite soggy. 4: No extra blankets so it was quite cold. 5: Food was overpriced and not great, fries were good though. 1 night was more than enough, I recommend finding somewhere else and just come for the park.

Bang for your buck!
Reviewed By IsabelleWestraThe owner and his son are really nice. The accomodation is super cheap. From there you can either take a tour to Semuc or go hiking, it's about a 45 minutes walk. The room was fine, the premises are really beautiful. The foods good and not too expensive, happy hour has great prices! We had a good time at Aruma. The only thing I can comment on is there was no wifi, no hot water (but we knew this upfront) and the bathroom door didn't close properly.

Owner ruins everything...

There is a bar and food music perhaps you don’t hear a lot of this in your (private) room. More of a relaxing hostel than a party one. Great views and nice pool. The downside was that the staff looked very exhausted and the owner would work 20h a day which made her do some calculation mistakes and made her impatient with us. I would recommend to double check your tab at the end ! They tried to make us pay the tab of someone else and a tour we didn’t do with them. The woman owner yelled at my boyfriend and wouldn’t want to talk to him when he told her about the mistake. One night my brother in law wanted to go to the Zephyr lodge which is just a 5min walk away to party and the woman told him not to go because the road was really dangerous and full of crackheads... He wound up going anyway with no problem and was told by the staff at the other hostel that she told stories like that to avert her clients from buying elsewhere. Cold showers. No refill of filtrated water (you have to buy bottles). Wifi only in one public place. In the end I was really deceived that such a wonderful placed could be ruined by the mood of the staff and attitude of the owner.

A real relax in your journey
Reviewed By _agnieszka_bronsIt’s lovely situated- little cabins on the hill, among the trees, next to the river. The cabins can host 6-8 people, but there are also single and double rooms. Towels are provided. The staff is very professional and helpful, they speak Spanish and English. They provide excellent food and drinks. As if that was not enough, there’s a pool for the guests.

Ch'i Bocol Community Hostel is located in a very remote place that requires a 30 minute hike to get to (guide provided). The hostel operates on solar power, and has fruits and vegetables growing on site. It features one of the only community kitchen in the Lanquin / Semuc Champey area, and the property is right on the river, with a waterfall, pool, and beaches nearby.
Way less than expected
Reviewed By vanessavivianwI expected a great accomodation based on the reviews I have read. But I got disappointed: It started with a hell ride on the back of a truck, driven by people who were drunk way to fast. The hostel is not very clean, and the wifi is poor (I just could connect during the night when no one was using it). The stuff is unsafe in the rooms - so it’s not a good feeling to have to care about the valuables all the time and carry them with you. On the bright side: The staff was extremely nice and helpful. The activities were great!

very basic hotel but clean
Reviewed By JosephineSalvadorthis is a basic hotel but our room was clean. The toilets were along the hall and we had a hot shower. There was one power point in the room. some English spoken . The hotel is clean and the staff very nice. We had a double room for 100Q. The internet only ran from 6pm to 10pm.The food was basic but adequate. The hotel is located on a hill and is next to the local bus stop where everyone gathers early morning so be prepared for an early wake up call.The beds were very thin and hard and lumpy.

We are a great option for people that seeks peace of mind and a great night rest, our glamping tents are fully equiped and offer and extremely comfortable experience and a great location for your travell purposes, we offer satelite Wifi for our guests, Restaurant, pool bar and of course we have 24 hours security inside our premisses.

Reviewed By Rebeca RNuestro plan era tener dos noches de glamping para ir a conocer Semuc Champey, lamentablemente no investigamos los suficiente y llegamos a Lanquin domingo para ir a Semuc en lunes, pero no abren así que bueno cambiamos los planes y solo nos hospedamos en Guayaha una noche. Las tiendas de Glamping son lindas, cómodas por la noche, todas laa instalaciones e en excelente estado las piscinas y los baños compartidos. El desayuno estuvo rico, hay área para ver cine al aire libre y hacer jna fogata asando salchichas y malvaviscos. Mis sugerencias de mejora: en los baños que son públicos deben poner alguna banca dentro para la salida de las duchas. En el día no se puede estar dentro de las tiendas, son u pequeño sauna, para que lo tengan en cuenta. Además la noche que dormirnos nk sabemos que pasó pero desde las 12 de la noche se escucharon ruidos que ya nk nos dejaron dormir, creemos q era la construcción de la calle. En resumen el lugar está super lindo para tener una buena aventura.

Reviewed By zeinelsaReally nice place to stay with a beautifull garden near the river and an amazing view on the hills. The rooms are comfy and big. The owners are really nice and helpfull. We stayed there 3 days and it was lovely. Really good value for money
