This guesthouse was a delightful surprise. The booking came via the local tourist office -- I hadn't ever heard of Aloe View and had simply requested somewhere reasonably priced, so didn't know what to expect. The first hint that things would be good came from speaking with Rose, the proprietress, who very kindly helped with travel arrangements to get to the house. When she showed me the room, I was rather bowled over! It was beautifully decorated and appointed (and, of course, immaculate) with lots of lovely little touches -- fresh flowers on neatly rolled towels, a stunning bathroom with a lovely walk-in shower and all kinds of different toiletries, a super wardrobe with lots of hangers, a wonderfully lighted mirror (ideal for someone using contact lenses), etc. As we made arrangements for breakfast, I mentioned that rooibos tea is my favourite, so she immediately checked to be sure that the hospitality tray had enough rooibos teabags ... she'd already provided muffins and toppings in case I was hungry after a long trip. The bed was very comfortable, and I had a lovely night's sleep. Rose can provide breakfast, but she also recommends a local restaurant just down the road. I chose this option (I like to explore) and found it very pleasant indeed. As if all this weren't enough, Rose also helped me to negotiate the next stage of my journey. As someone new to the area, I'd made certain assumptions that weren't viable. She went out of her way to ensure that I was able to continue on as planned, giving me the benefit of her considerable local knowledge along the way. Oh, and the stay was very reasonable, too (R350 for the room I was in) ... so fulfilling my original request! I hugely enjoyed my time in Keimoes, which I found a very friendly small town, and am extremely glad to have found such a congenial place to stay. Highly recommended!

What a gem of a guesthouse! The rooms are large, clean and have wonderful decor to make you feel at home. The fishing was great along the river. The reception service was super friendly. We even got some fire wood from the owners who truly were so hospitable. We will book a few days here next time we are in the area.
