Relaxing and pristine Kauai (the Garden Island) is the least commercially developed of the Hawaiian islands. Waterfalls, scenic drives and more than 60 beaches dot the landscape. Some beaches have great snorkeling, others offer child-friendly tidal pools and some are perfect for all kinds of water sports. Dry-land activities include hiking the Kalalau Trail on the Na Pali coastline, taking a day trip to Waimea Canyon and experiencing life on a sugar plantation at Grove Farm Homestead Museum.

Enjoy the accommodations at our beachfront, resort-like property situated along a secluded beach on Kauai's Royal Coconut Coast. The property features six beachfront acres of lush tropical lawns and gardens and two outdoor swimming pools. A complimentary bicycle amenity is included with your hospitality fee. Join us for breakfast, lunch, happy hour, and dinner at our restaurant Lava Lava Beach Club - right on the beachfront. For your convenience, our sundry is open from 7 AM to 11 PM daily. Contemporary guest room accommodations feature sleek, retro-modern designs, vibrant island colors, island-style decor featuring mini-refrigerators, Keurig coffee makers, private lanais and beautiful mountain, garden, pool or ocean views. With the daily Hospitality Fee, guests enjoy amenities including in-room coffee, outdoor yoga classes, Wifi Internet access throughout the hotel, use of beach towels and chairs, local and toll-free phone calls, hot tub, luggage service (no overnight storage) and self-parking.
Nice hotel with many rooms facing the gardens (and two smallish pools). Beware of rooms facing the parking lot. Beautiful beach but waves can be too rough to swim. Room was decent size, with patio with 2 chairs and small table, ideal for a drink before dinner. Room had coffee machine, fridge, safe etc. Bathroom was big but sparsely furnished. Reception staff efficient and helpful. Parking can be a problem late afternoons, but 'free' valet parking (a tip is expected) is available. The Lava Lava restaurant is supposed tonbe good, as they don't take reservations and suggested to show up at 4:30 for dinner to avoid long waiting time, we didn't try it out. Overall a very reasonably (for Hawaii standards) priced abode.

I was given the last room available for Friday night when I found out my vrbo had no plumbing. Not only was the staff amazing but they also kindly allowed me use of the hospitality suite once I checked out, so I could shower and change at the end of the day. I ended up staying right next door to the property the last two nights, so I enjoyed coming back to the hotel for all of my meals and shopping. HIGHLY recommended even at their highest rate. Wonderful.

I’ll start with my positives. I would have given this hotel a 4.5, but my complaints are not enough to drop to a 4. We stayed here 3 nights. The pool was amazing. Although you can only do slides from 11-6 … there are 3 different ones. Plus the main one had so many sections. They messaged before we got there if we wanted to have the fridge stocked when I got there - which I felt was awesome. The balcony door opened alllll the way. So we had 3 doors wide open if we wanted. We received Leis / beads when we checked in and there was chocolate and a bag with water in our room. The bag was great for beach toys. There were pool side food places, snacks and rentals. The room had a full washer and dryer. Kitchen supplies. Negatives - the breakfast place we loved was closed 2 of the days. With a picky son who loved the food, that kinda stunk. — but they did text everyone early to let us know other options.

The most beautiful resort! The oceanfront room is worth the splurge, you can’t get closer to the ocean! Rooms recently remodeled and very clean. All service was impeccable. Breakfast and dining options within walking distance. Ocean view immediately in front of the hotel and beaches directly on either side of the hotel. Poipu beach about a 5 min walk away. Any water gear can be rented directly from the hotel and great snorkeling in the bay right in front of the hotel! Drinks at the pool bar were great, Red Salt was good for a hotel restaurant. Definitely the nicest hotel option on the south side. Quiet, relaxed vibe. We brought one child and she had a great time in the pool! As the hotel is smaller there were plenty of chairs/umbrellas available at the pool and on the lawn.

Sitting on six acres of beautifully landscaped grounds, Aston Islander on the Beach features a sparkling pool with a poolside bar, lush gardens for strolling, and a beautiful beachfront location - popular for viewing Hawaiian monk seals. Enjoy the convenience of the adjacent Coconut Marketplace's 60 boutiques and restaurants. It's impressive oceanfront and plantation-style charm make this relaxing resort the most enticing retreat on Kauai. Please note: The hotel collects a daily amenity fee which includes DVD movies and Playstation 3 game rentals, daily coffee and tea, in-room safe, WiFi internet, and local & toll-free calls.
We are back a second time to the Aston islander! This is a condo owned 120 unit hotel. The rooms are studio w microwave toaster coffee maker Kurerig and mini refrigerator. They provide coffee shampoo and body wash soap and all the towels you need. The bees are king and both trips very comfortable. AC unit is good and many like ours have lanai w ocean views. Free DVD each day which we don’t use and 3 grills that they don’t seem to maintain. The grills seem like 20 year old but work efficiently as we love fish and buy 1-2 lbs every 3 days. We overall rate this Aston pretty well and believe you’ll have a very nice time! Beach is good clean and swimming is nice. They have a bar by the pool we don’t use and mostly I want to get wet in ocean. Lighting in the rooms are good and a free Cable and WiFi the workers at front desk and maids are very nice and kind. No free newspaper anymore and maid service is no longer daily which is fine. They also provide news sponge and soap to wash dishes which are also supplied! What you’ll need is a hat, flip flops and sunblock?

You get what you pay for. If you just need a place to stay with a kitchen and sleep, hopefully without too much noise from the upstairs neighbors or hallways, then this will do. the pools are okay. The beach is across the street and down the path. It will do as long as your not looking for luxury of any kind. It's not the Motel 6, but it's not the Hyatt either. If you book through AirBnB, you'll be booking through some management company, and so on, so be aware of who you are booking with. They want to charge for everything. Again, it's not horrible, but it's not the Hyatt either. And you might need to call and ask because we thought we were getting a tub and we ended up with a shower only.

This hotel is very nice and not too crowded. The pool is wonderful and large and there is plenty of room around it for everyone. We rented a palapa around the pool one day and around the beach another. It was so relaxing! There are restaurants and shops in walking distance and at night the tiki torches light up the bar and pool area. The renovated rooms were nice and overall the place was wonderful. The only downside is that it’s very pricey and the rooms did not have enough drawer space.

Checked in with my wife for a few nights while we visited friends on Kauai. From the outside, looked promising - grounds fairly well kept, tiki torches, polite staff... Then we get to the room. It. Was. Disgusting. Both the tub and toilet were stained. Thank goodness we had clorox wipes to clean the toilet which had remnants of a former guests "experience" on the bottom side of the seat. Found someone's hairs in the tub, curtains were stained. I showered in sandals. We kept feeling something crawling on us, found a huge dead roach in the room on the last day, it was probably his friends that had been visiting us. So glad we were only here 3 nights, I couldn't have taken another one.
