Unique hotel need good maintenance
Reviewed By nir0shWe have visited Boulder Garden in December 2021 following the visit of Sinharaja Rain forest. Boulder garden hotel is built at an area of numbers of boulders. It is the unique feature of this hotel. The most attractive place of the hotel was the restaurant with adjacent pool. Their restaurant was situated at a cave and it was a different experience. Overall environment of the hotel is bit dark due to boulders and shades. The food of the hotel was good and staff was friendly. Interior of the rooms were to be updated and overall hotel needs good maintenance. This is a good accommodation option if you visit Sinharaja Rain forest via Waddagala entrance.

Great location and setting
Reviewed By bill18960What a fantastic find! There is a large veranda with comfortable chairs and a dinning area that overlooks a beautiful forested valley and mountainside. Very private with lovely and well maintained grounds. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The meals were delicious and the rooms were clean and comfortable. It's very convenient to Sinharaja Park. Swimming in the the pool below the waterfall was amazing. If you a bird watcher, this is a paradise. We were a party of 5, booked 3 rooms, and had the whole place to ourselves. Everything about this place exceeded our expectations, especially for the exceptional reasonable price.

Perfect place to stay to visit sinharaja forest
Reviewed By Nomad13947529208The hosts are a very friendly couple, the room was very comfortable (good mattress), there was a/c and hot water. The room and bathroom were immaculately clean, and the hosts cooked excellent Sri Lankan food ?. We would highly recommend this place, it is also close (7 km) to the sinharaja forest entrance.

Sinharaja Adventure Resort is located bordering two rivers & within walking distance to Sinharaja Rainforest main entrance. With 8 comfortable standard rooms with hot water (single/double/triple/family) and 6 Luxury Rooms with Hot water, TV and AC. Our restaurant is by the side of the river with a beautiful view of the nature. We serve Sri Lankan and continental meals. We arrange activities for our guest such as bird watching, jungle trekking, hiking, river trekking, mountain biking, nature trails, etc.

I have reserved this place a day before my travel and my reservation was for 1 night (27-28 February 2021) for that i was charged 49.50 USD which i payed throgh Hotels.com. On 27th Saturday mornig i visited the placed and informed the management that i would checked in after my hike in Sinharaja forest and me and my wife need dinner (because the price was excluding the meals) and we will be returning around 4-5PM. We started our hike around 10.30 am and it took us nearly 5 hours to finish 12 Km trail. Then we returned to the palace around 6pm expecting a warm meal and a hot bath, instead our expectations manager told me that he has no information on my reservation or the payment. Then i shown him the receipt from Hotels.com and he refused accepting it and called their so called reservation manager who has no clue either. Then he try to convince me that the advertisement may be made by someone else putting their pictures and telephone numbers and email addresses (which was load of bull crap for me) . Then I asked him how can someone false the identity of a hotel using the same information (telephone/ email/ pictures etc) even without getting caught or getting notified for the owner ? then he said that they have to investigate into the matter and similar incident happened the week before. Then I asked him simply to google their name and see the advertisement on the internet, which he refused saying he is not aware such thing ( he was incompetent and not helpful at all). Then i was contacted by the owner- Mr Janaka and he said that he was driving to Colombo and he don't have time to check his emails at the time or i have to wait another 3 hours until he go home (i checked the time and it was 6.30 pm and cannot wait another 3 hours).Or he has given me two options either pay them with cash or leave the place and I have selected the second option. on the way to Colombo I have contacted the Hotels.com and explained my situation, they were trying to contact the owner for another half an hour. I was requested them to cancel the reservation because if I try to cancel it or changed it by my self i will not get my money back (according to the cancellation conditions) and owner will still collect my money without providing the service (scam?). Meanwhile Owner contacted me and said Hotels.com contacted him and he is going to release the reservation ( I wander how they contacted him if somebody else have put this advertisement, as he tried to convince me earlier? - I smelled bull crap again). I have received another call from Hotels.com and mentioned that they have resolved the matter and I will receive it within next 72 hours (hopefully), They were so apologetic on the situation which haven't seen from the owner or the management of the SINHARAJA, BIRDER"S LOGDE. Even though, I would get my money, my weekend was already ruined.

After all I found the place, I got an information from a neighbor lady that this resort doesn't operate here. And she direct me to another hotel which is managed by the same owner. I wasted 20 mins finding this resort. Disappointing.
